yeah, but 3D printers are not that much smaller than a household washing machine(some are bigger), so I think it might take a while before they are ergonomically designed to fit anything more than a factory or a professional office...

good idea though.

there is a blender3d-driven personal fabricator available out there if you look for it. It can print just about any 3d object provided it is a manifold mesh and the materials you use are soft enough for the motor and etching head. also, the fabricator is capable of fabricating 90% of its own components, minus the motor, etching head and electronics, so once you have one, its not too hard to have it copy itself a few times.
