  • you stupid this was landing trough cross winds....

  • who the hell uses Universal Pictures sound theme in there video intro what a retard

  • That's the Queen always landing sophisticated. Try landing an A380 like that!! i don't think so!!

  • ultimate control"""""

  • goddamned advertisement occupies 2/3 of the clip

  • boooooooooooooooo

  • man as he turns just above the runway the bloody yaw rudder was fking amazing

  • You people have no idea what a crosswind is in flights

  • jeeeesus! that will pucker your sphincter!

  • good old Kai Tak...

  • Aircrash.ucoz.net

new website about aviation disasters. Photos, video, investigation...

  • huge cross wind nice landing!

  • I thought the plane slowed down in mid air before touchdown. Is this someking of a levitation on that point of view? mmmmmm.

  • @MulliesGirl It is called the ground effect, it is no illusion, the plane actually floats for a few seconds on the runway before touchdown..

  • heres the video, 0:13 - 0:28... hope i saved your life

  • That was the gayest intro I've ever seen in my life.

  • theres no 0:32

  • fireworks bull shit

  • Okay, its not like you shot the damn clip, the music is stolen, the video clip is stolen, the aircraft sound is fake.....

  • gay

  • is this hong kong airport?

  • @PRESTONSTANDARDZ

Yeh i think this is Kai Tak the old one.

  • pilot is cool, rest of the video is shit

  • Why the fake sound?

  • that pilot must have guts!

  • i will say well done to the pilot to land in such bad cross wind

  • wtf 12 sec outa 33 was the stupid title

  • Now thats how you handle a nasty cross wind!

  • Quote!

    20 seconds of masturbatory self-promotion on a 34-second clip. :(

  • the pilot is genius

  • Wow. That's skill. Looks like he flew perpendicular to the runway specifically because of the crosswind. Awesome to watch, but as a passenger...I'd definitely walk off that plane with an epic case of hemhorroids.

  • @Redden08 As long as the crosswind is within (lower than) published parameters for the aircraft performance, it is OK to land and is done all the time.

If above the performance parameters, you go around until the wind speed lowers or land at another airport. Many airports have other runways which my be 90 degrees different in direction. Unfortunately, LAX does not.

  • why is it dangerous? You're a douchebag as this is an acceptable landing that all airplanes do all the time.....go back to your flight sim and stop posting clips.

  • one of the best landings ive ever senn :O

  • Oh my god 0.0 that was fuckin close

  • kai-tek was one of the hardest crosswind landings on earth until it was shut down......dont criticize

  • NOW THATS WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUTTHAT A PILOT!!!!

  • he side loaded the shit out of the gears. looked like a bit of a shit landing to be honest

  • @blink882 well he in a 747 in crosswind after turning 90 degrees seconds before touchdown you would have problems on landing to

  • that is what I call flying!

  • smmooooth operator... :) dope landing...

  • smooth man- smooth

  • very good pilot!!!

  • @ ruudvangeshy-it is a korean air 747 doing the runway 13 approach on hong kong kai tak airport (the old hong kong international airport, closed in 1998)

  • I mean how does he control the alignment of the plane in those less than five seconds, talk about skill and experience, and to think, people have daily problems with cars...

  • Nice landing!!!!!!!!

  • great pilot.

  • good skills captin lol its meant to land liek that u tarts

  • that plane has strong wheels

  • lucky, if you look, the plane lands on one set of wheels, the hydrolic sytems are amazing.

  • i would of stained the seat

  • YOU IDIOT. its a crosswind landing like what others have said and its entirely necessary to land especially with wind sears that high. Captain has some skill.

  • x-wind landing = LEET

  • its a cross wind landing but the pilot was using the body of the aircraft to slow the plane down, called a kitetail i think in gliding

  • that was just crosswind landing

  • btw the dubbing for this vid is really bad!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Not a crosswind landing.. he missed the turn and instead of go around (too much traffic) he took the risk..many pilots took the risk those days ...most of them because are running out of fuel and as i said..too much traffic..

  • nope its a crosswind! look at the angle when the plane is landing the nose is pointing a bit right of the runway because of the "crosswind". You just can't glide at an angle if there's no crosswind especially a fully loaded 747.

  • Wow, wow... WOW!!!! It was... what? Boeing 747? Unbelievable! I thought that only the UFO can fly like that!

  • It's a crosswind landing at Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong. This video has been around.

  • This pilot touched down before the threshold.

  • Randy you stupid asshole this is a standard crosswind landing, planes do it all the time, it's not as dangerous as you think. And your intro is fuckin gay. 1 Star from me

  • @impavidus87 how he had to turn 90 degrees at the last minute

  • 20 seconds of masturbatory self-promotion on a 34-second clip~

  • nice comment dude

  • tis is hong kong old airport, most plane is landing like tis.

  • fantastic a sain pilot wouldn't chance landed in such a cross wind that pilot was ludicrous.

  • wow the pilot is fantastic! 10

  • fake sound. The original video does not have that sound.

  • May be he used reverse on left engines and full throttle in right ?

  • ultra fake sound!

  • Skills!

  • Ill bet they had to replace all the barf bags

  • he should've just ejected.

  • cant really eject in a 747

  • LOL

  • Cant eject from a helicopter either. =D

  • lmao

  • this is cross wind landing. Pilot made exactly what manual refers. Pilot is so good.

  • If you watch closely his left engine strikes the ground and there are sparks. Considering the low wind speed he really lacks as a pilot...even though it's Kai Tak.

Also this movie uploade sucks balls because he made that long intro with pirated music and he dubbed a fake sound file on during the movie....retarded.

  • There aint sparks... Its smoke from the tires touching the ground. The smokes comes because that the wheels accelerate from 0 to the airplanes IAS instantly. It generates heat and thereby smoke.

  • the left engine DOES NOT touch the ground

  • take a look at the windsock - that landing in 15kts is not a "good landing" by a "good pilot".

  • damn good pilot

  • he pauses at 0:20 then turns it looks weird

  • Great landing with the circumstances but a little bit easier on the ailerons next time

  • shut up, bitch....you would've be pissing your panties, not finessing the ailerons, you flight sim jockey.

  • I wouldent i would be doing what a pilot is trained to do. stay calm and land the plane

Dumb ass ime 15 and know that :D

  • That was NOT a normal crosswind landing, he came very close to dragging #1 engine along the RWl. KAL at it's best!

  • when its windy they do this. its called side slipping. they loose altatude without loosing speed. its easier and safier for everybody. its normal

  • 1. this was not side slipping.

    2. you probably mean "without GAINING speed".

  • 1. this was not side slipping.

    2. you probably mean "without GAINING speed".

  • actually its caled Crabing :) Nose down Rudder to hold nose into wing. Wings level its the simple base for all cross wind landings from Cessnas on up. Was actually the 1st landing I was taught. after that a Stright in landing is really easy

  • Does anyone know about the 'Missle' landing? You come in at a 90 degree angle heading 500mph nose straight down and tail straight vertical then the 'kiss you ass goodbye' manuever takes place. This sure beats jumping ponds and playing leap frog for the weak and weary.

  • The intro really sucks. Amazing landing though...

  • ... only that he smches the runway lights. you can read about it

  • all airplane and pilots need to manage crosswind landind, so its quite normal landing like this. Yes its looks amazin.

  • That is a Korean 747 and ANY landing at Kai Tak was dangerous - it is the crosswind capital of the universe - and it was closed to civilian aircraft about 10 years ago!! Just for fun -- you had to do a steep banking S turn to line up the runway -- over mountains -- and for your pleasure - it also had water on 3 sides!!!! They use Hong Kong International on Hong Kong Island now -- BEAUTIFUL airport!!!

  • wow

  • the title for this video is AMAZING

  • WTF IS THAT? 1/5 STARS

  • @DrewDawg125 a crosswind landing at Kai-tak

  • WAY WAY TO EARLY! HE handled the crosswind well, but as many others have said, the threshold is NOT to be used to land on. In some emergency cases... Then maybe, but not for any landing. With or with out crosswind. He was was under the glideslope before the REAL crosswind kicked in... But amazing skills anyway.

  • That was no perfect landing. Yes, he handled the crosswind and the difficult approach well, but he touched down way before the threshold. The area with the run-up arrows is NOT supposed to be used for landing!

  • Actually, it looked like he landed right at the threshold. Either way, it was very impressive flying. I sure as hell couldn't do that.

  • He landed on the arrows, which are specifically in every flight manual described as NOT to be used for landing, in fact even a landing ON the threshold would be frowned against.

And no shit you couldn't do that - you haven't had years of training in how to do it, he has.

  • why can't they land on the treshhold?

  • Because it's too close to the beginning of the runway. If a pilot aimed for the threshold of a runway that didn't have a run up zone, but touched down too early, he'd be off the runway and most likely would cause a crash.

This is why there are markers further up the runway that you're supposed to aim for.

Like it or not people, the landing in this video was un-professional. The arrows are NOT supposed to be used in any circumstances for landing.

  • actually it looked like he landed after the threshold. any ways, why are you fighting? he landed with the people safe and sound, don't complain..

  • What the hell are you talking about "danger landing". As ShorD4000 said, that was amazing! And there was little or no danger. Go through some training flying, then tell me that that wasn't amazing.

  • dumb retart. why don't you come back with an ATPL and say thats a dangerous landing

atleast korean air does maintaince on their fleets

  • This landing was not a "danger landing" actually it was far from it, being a pilot, i can say that this was a perfectly executed crosswind landing. The pilot lowers the upwind wing, however by lowering the wing, the plane wants to turn, therefore the pilot uses the rudder to keep the plane straight, the odd noze direction. Finally right before touchdown, the pilot releases all rudder pressure, and places the upwind wheels on the tarmac, then fully lands.

  • q piloto

  • 1. You added sound to this video because the original doesn't have sound.

    2. I am tired of people copying others video and spreading it on Internet, waisting space and time (for us). 1/5

  • I agree. Obviously we need some mechanisms to flag these copy cats.

  • No shit.

  • The nearest Kmart sold plenty of Undies shortly after....

  • It's good the wheels supported the weight... That could've been messy...

  • Felicito al piloto!!!
