I think the problems here are mostly that horse's have a hard time seeing the sudden change/drop from ground to water and thus don't place their feet right. These horses train for years to compete at this level though, accidents happen. It would help if they made all cross country fences breakaway though....

They were trained for things that so is isn't exactly cruel. And I think it is fine to have water that deep. At least is isn't up to their chin.

And so do these horses in the video, it doesn't mean they loose trust or hate it all of the sudden. They just don't like the water in their ears, eyes, and nose.... @lovubiscuit One problem is that the water is brown, causing the horse not to relize its water. were i ride they die the water blue. thats why alot of the falls in the water u see the horse just cantering off the bank and not jumping. not really the riders fault :)
