@valentynesuite EVEIDENTLY YOU NEVER PLAYED IT . WAS MADE IN ITALY BY MEAZZY , VERY BAD WOOD AND SOUND . BUT , IF JACK WAS PLAYING , IT COULD SEEMS BETTER THAN REAL .......
Great drums! Bought a set in 72: 18"BD/13"ST/14"FT/16"FT; last two tunable toms('tympani'). I use them still, with a Rogers metal snare (COB). They only get better! Had to change small tom holder into a Pearl, drunk piano player fell over the set. The hoop claws on the BD broke. Same with some hoop claws on the 16" FT. Any idea where i could find parts for these drums? tdyroy@gmail.com
@tdyroy you can try at my facebook page dedicated to the hollywood sets; search FAN DELLE BATTERIE HOLLYWOOD MEAZZI UNITEVI!. The holder is the HARDES part of the set to find...
MALE PRESENTER: Many years ago, during a concert, the orchestra director said to his trumpeter: "you will go on stage with your group for 7 and 1/2 minutes, immediately after the break". The trumpeter looked at him with a very disbelieving look and said: "you know, when I start playing I forget everything, let alone the time!"
FEMALE PRESENTER: The trumpeter was Miles Davis. He came recently in Italy to play some concerts. Tonight we present you a recording of some parts of the concert he gave in a Roman theatre, playing for more than 50 minutes every time without stopping.
MALE PRESENTER: MD's music speaks for itself. It's a very difficult music, that asks for a lot of attention. It's a music full of tension, of dynamism, that lately has gotten closer to the so-called "free jazz school": a musical school that features an "anarchic" jazz, in a certain sense, free from the obliged schemes, from tonalities, and with a very complex rythmic variety. ...
... MD is a surly, scornful man, who, even in his way of dressing, wants to maintain the provocative attitude that his music has. He presented himself to the Roman spectators with a black shirt (unfortunately here we can't see that), with a green Indian neckerchief, with leather trousers, and the bracelets he has on his wrists are made of leather too, and with the trumpet painted green with his name inscribed on it. ...
... According to the most part of the most important worldwide critics, obviously jazz critics, nowadays MD is the most important solo trumpeter in the world of the modern jazz.
thank you so much my dear friend:) for the sharing this Genius:)))
