I am from San Diego County and I too used to go to the desert. I completely agree with the poster of this video that people who go out to Glamis, the desert, go with toys for offroading. There is NO other reason to go out there. If you DON'T have toys then you sure as hell are meeting up with people who HAVE THEM. Usually a person doesn't go alone either. You go with groups of people, or at the very least, someone else. Also, on the way home from the desert, is Deheasa, in a roundabout way

That is not at all true. Yes it is hard to defend the Van Dams, especially to people who can't get past their sex lives. But, this was all done by David Westerfield. I lived in that community, and I heard about as much gossip as one could tolerate. The bottom line is that this was a home invasion kidknapping/rape and torture, that the parents had nothing to do with. If you new the neighborhood where they lived, you wouldn't think twice about leaving the doors unlocked.

In 1992, I said, (about the Holly Staker - Juan Rivera case), that they had the wrong guy and it's a matter of record. He has just been given a 3rd trial based on DNA evidence that says he mostly like had nothing to do with it. There were 2 known child abuser one that physical injured (on record)at a party 6 blocks away. Both were seen leaving for a while and coming back out of breath. One had scratches on his neck, but the police ignored all this and went after Rivera.....Go figure!

I've done a lot of research on this case. I haven't thought about it in some time till I ran across this vid. There are some very strange elements involved in this case. One thing that caught my attention right away, was the testimony of the pathologists. They all agreed that the body had been placed there at a time when Westerfield would have been on 24 surveillance. After "a meeting" with the prosecution, one even said it could have been as early as Jan 29! 2 days before she was missing!

There were some other strange occurrences as well. A known child abuse ring was busted in that area about that time. One of them was a pediatrician. Paul (don't recall last name right now) But he had a regular blog going on about kids and pediatrician things. They also frequented the bar she said she met Westerfield in, according to testimony, she did indeed tell several people she had kids. She yelled it across the bar! Lot of strange things about this case. I now wonder if he really did it.

1st, he did NOT fondle his niece. He put his finger in her mouth and rubbed her teeth. 2nd, polygraphs are not allowed as evidence in court for a "reason". I once failed one 3 times before the real culprit came forward. 3rd his computer was NOT "loaded" with kiddy porn and it was accessed while he was at the police station being interviewed. Mark Lunsfords computer had k/porn too. That mean HE killed Jessica? These are reasons to suspect, not convict. But they inflamed the public, didn't they.

4th, several kids admitted sneaking in his camper while he was gone. Her mother stated that she had never been to his house. In court she admitted she'd been there with her kids TWICE! AND the kids went upstairs while he and "Mom" were talking. 5th, the Van Dams were caught in 7 major lies and he was caught in NO lies. There's a lot more. I don't believe everything he said either but I can't "prove" he was lying. It's very easy to start a lynch mob mentality with the public. You DID prove that.

People are turned loose all the time because of DNA. I proved that with the Juan Rivera/Holly Staker case. After I went through all the evidence in this case, I believe we owe it to this precious one, and a few others, to do a lot better than this.

The polograph isn't admissible true, but it is used as a tool. it wasn't ''non conclusive'' he failed miserably. Danielle sold him girlscout cookies while being at his house. I have to disagree about Lunsford. Losing a daughter like he did is a horrible thing for anyone, but the fact is, he lived with a 16 year old girl when he was 26 in N.C. They found K/porn on his computer, and he advocates killing sex offenders of any kind, yet now his own son is a sex offender who somehow got out of registering. At 18, Joshua fondled a 14 year old. Mark called it a Romeo and Juliette thing, but the girl complained to her mother. And supported the charges. Mark is no hero.

To answer your question: He called a tow truck. The tow truck driver reported hearing strange noise only after he learned of Danielle going missing. He later recanted and said it could have been a tv, which Westerfield said he thought was on at that time because he was waiting for the tow truck and was watching something. I agree with "KOOLSTRIKE" "Let's not forget the REAL victim here" but part of that is getting the REAL perpetrator.
