I'm a painter and the brush holder/ storage that I use is perfect for makeup. It not only stores my brushes but it flips over to be a brush stand. I also have a few for my makeup brushes and it holds them perfectly. You can buy them at any art supply store or warehouse. I think it would be better since you don't have to carry that stand. Thanks for your great videos!
Koren you are awesome. Love that you are so generous in sharing your ideas...there are people that are "friends" and "family" who are so stingy in sharing recipes, ideas, and tips with us, and here you are sharing with the world. thanks for the tips. i learn so much
Sounds good. I would assume so! I was told that we should wash it with shampoo? Only if it's real hair..? I have a brush cleaner, but which one is better? Have you tried them all??? :o)
Where can I get a brush belt? Also, what brushes do you recommend? I have a mixture of Chanel and Laura Mercier and MAC. But I noticed yours seem to be a totally different line. I have a flat brush holder from Chanel, but it doesn't hold a lot. I cram a lot of brushes in it. I love your easel idea and the dirty tumbler method. :o) Thanks for sharing!
Koren, do I have to have a liscense to practice freelance makeup and hair? I am hearing SUCH conflicting information. And beauty school is just not an option for me, right now. :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!! but are those your brushes in that belt? I looked on your website and the colors aren't the same. Please tell what brushes those are I have been wanting to throw out/give away my current brushes and want an entire new set.
i'm sure some people may take offense to me saying this, but if you choose to throw away or get rid of your current brushes, i would be more than willing to take them off of your hands. i'm still an amatuer at makeup and dont really have a good set of brushes, thanks.
I love my brush belt, and find it's easier to grab the brushes from there than from a table....but the ideas for hand towel WITH paper towel is GENIUS (I use just a paper towel).
Koren--you always have the greatest ideas. I watched ALL your videos the past couple of days. I made the homemade brush cleanser about a month ago and have noticed a change in my skin--no more blackheads on my cheeks and nose!! I didn't realize my brushes were contaminated and causing the breakouts. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR GREAT IDEAS AND TAKING THE TIME OUT TO DO THE TUTORIALS!! I absolutely love to hear you say the word "so".
TY for the information. I am attending Esthetics school. I have days left, and i have learned more about makeup, the industry, application, and sanitation from you and the youtube community than i have in 10 months of training.
I do have a question. How often do you change the towel and paper towel during a gig? For example, at a wedding, if you have 5 clients, do you change the paper towel after each person? Thanks again?
When my cousin got married, she hired a makeup artist to do everyone's makeup. We're a big family of mainly girls; probably around 25. I didn't realized until later that she was using the SAME POWDER SPONGE on EVERY single person. I was the last one to get ready and I broke out like crazy after. I should send her this video so she could learn about sanitizing... You're great Koren! :)
I really like the easel method I will definitely be using that during my next... Do you ever use a directors chair to have the client sit in.. I was thinking of buying one because I really don't like having to bend over all the time.. any rec's?? good video !!
You are BRILLIANT, Koren, that is so organized! Thank you so much for this video! I am going to run out and pick up an easel immediately. I hope I'm given enough space to use it when I need it.
i always get existed when you put up a new video, because i know im going to learn something great that i didn't know before! i love your videos and you always seem to amaze me !
I just adore you. Can I adopt you? Strange sense of humor. Anyway, this is wonderful!! I'm going to start at working on pageantsfor free and pay for some space at a Bridal Show. Is that a good idea?
Thanks so much for sharing what some working artist reguard as personal, insider information. I am an aspiring MA and organization is an issue for me. This was very helpful.

One last question-Do you ever wash your brushes? Or just using the brush cleaner is enough?
cowfetti 2 years ago
@cowfetti you should wash your brushes once or twice a week, and you should use a daily brush cleaner, everyday to prevent bacteria :)
