I realize that the last post was 4mos ago, but if youve seen one weekend of the discovery or military channels, you have seen worse. I would think that slbm footage would be a little more detrimental than a couple tomahawk launches.
I'm surprised this video doesn't violate security protocols. We were WAYyyy more secretive when I rode subs. You weren't even allowed to take a still photo of ANY sub, any part of it, any operation.
I was also a lucky "Goldie" on that famous missle launching patrol!! That patrol had some great memories! Anybody still have the video? I lost mine as well.
We are interested in making sure the weapons we have to defend us work. We need to make sure the people we give them to, know how to them. The weapon and the crew did and outstanding job in this, first ever, launch from the new SSGN class. 156 tomahawk missles, just off the coast, supporting our troops on the ground.
Sorry, you wouldn't understand. life is simple your either qualified or not!. We are a different breed. and no we are not the Navy, we are bubble heads! Brothers of the dolphin.
It's necessary to have the capability to blow people up, who want to blow us up. That's not rocket science. And whethter you can accept it or not, there are people who just want to blow us up.
Just because I don't see the point of this video doesn't mean I don't appreciate the fine work that our excellent servicemen and women are doing out there. I don't love war. But I view it as a necessity in this day and age. I don't love blowing things up or shooting people. But I know we need to do it sometimes to protect what we hold dear.
This video just SUCKs and cheapens the work they are doing.
My husband is an a-ganger on the USS Florida and was aboard for these test launches. It is awesome to be able to see what he's doing out there while I'm stuck here at home!! I can't wait to show him this video!
I worked on the ssgn project boomer conversion to tomahawk and commando platform ssgn Michigan and ohio Bremerton wash. an awe inspiering experience that i'll never forget OED. electric boat.puget sound naval shipyard.
id rather feel pain than nothing at all too.

I'm shocked to see this on YouTube! I found out from one of the crew members aboard this boat. It just goes to show you can put anything on here!!!

I was onboard when it was still a SSBN.
Patrols were so easy. Chris Cale,my LPO, was probably one of the biggest losers/dic#heads I have ever met.

I was crew member of the Florida when it was still a SSBN.
I was part of the lucky crew who got to shoot a total of six C4 missiles in the mid-90's!
We had a video of that which we all ordered, but I can't find my copy now. :(
This brings back some memories.

I don't get it. Why are we interested in blowing things up? I did plenty of that in high school chemistry. Boring - and the music is ridiculous.

Kick-ass music for Kick-ass military hardware!

why does everyone have to turn this stuff into bad music videos? no one wants to listen to bad music, they just want to watch the USA's SSGN.

Careful with your stock footage, that one toward the end was a laser guided bomb going into a hill :) Good stuff. Could lose the music though.
