  • Political correctness is what killed this show. Perhaps too many of the Looney Toons wouldn't have been accepted by today's standards. Notice they took out Speedy Gonzales in this late version.

  • DAMN, I want to be a kid again!

  • @jjlucash Don't we all? I miss those old Looney Tunes cartoons, especially the Wile E. Coyote/Road Runner ones.

  • Classic, makes me want to be 11 again!

  • @GenerationX1984

Disney's/ABC & Nick's contract with Bugs and the Looney Tunes ended when WB's gave the FULL rights to Cartoon Network in the Fall of 1998.

Nickelodeon's version a.k.a "Looney Tunes on Nickelodeon" ended in Sept 11, 1999; while ABC pulled the show the following year on September 2, 2000.

  • Tonight what heights we'll hit! On with the show this is it!

Why they cancelled the greatest Saturday morning cartoon is beyond me. Though it did run for about 40 years.

  • Fuck I miss this cartoons.

  • they just dont make stuff like this anymore....shammmmme

  • If God gives me kids, they are growing up on this! They won't even know who Hannah Montana is.

  • @lottoya1 Me too...the stuff on these days supposedly for kids has a lot of stuff contained within that is not even appropriate for them to be watching...not to mention just low quality. Shows like this, Garfield and Friends, Inspector Gadget, etc. will be what my kids watch.

  • @lottoya1 I second that motion.

  • @LNNS97 It's on Teletoon Retro

  • I use to watch this show back in the day when I was a youngster saturday mornings on ABC around 11-11:30 AM.This opening was used from 1988-1992 when I was 1-5 years old.I want this to come on DVDs.THis was my favorite Looney Tunes Show of all times.

  • saturday mornings will never be the same again:-(

  • @jerold6314 Yeah, it's a shame. Long live the Looney Tunes!!

  • @jerold6314 you telling me, i always watch it after disney's one saturday morning, and then after the bugs bunny and tweety show was over i also watch that house show. man that was the good old days.

  • fav show of all time when i watched this i got chills

  • does anyone know where to watch full episodes? i really miss this show and cant find it anywhere!

  • @sm0keyMcP0t420 Its on tv everyday.

  • Bugs already had 60 years of spotlight!

    It's Daffy's turn now.

  • Bugs is Doing The Shuffle 0:03 :D

  • Uh-oh! In this updated, reanimated opening from The Bugs Bunny show, Speedy Gonzales has been replaced with less culturally-provocative Sylvester Jr.

Someone call the ACLU! Get Gloria Allred on the phone! The fastest mouse in all of Mexico has been disenfranchised!

  • @PleasantFellow LOL i love speedy :)

  • The best cartoon show ever created, bar none.

  • I used to watch the Looney Tunes on Saturday mornings. I remember this back in 1989. I may might been the only 13 year old watching it in my area that I know of. Nothing outbeat the Looney Tunes.

  • This was the 80s intro and when I stopped watching it because they started taking the violence [AKA fun] out and re editing scenes making the cartoons suck!

They really ruined these classic cartoons doing that stoopid crap!

  • Does anyone know what the lyrics to this song are? Some of it is pretty indistinct...

  • @NotAGoodUsername360 Overture, curtain, lights This is it, the night of nights No more rehearsing and nursing the part We know every part by heart Overture, curtain, lights This is it, we'll hit the heights And oh, what heights we'll hit On with the show this is it Tonight what heights we'll hit On with the show this is it :-)
  • @abnotw83 Thanks!

  • b bunny is sooooooo old it started in the 1950 's

  • @HaleyHardyxo more like 1930s

  • I gotta say, after watching this intro and several of the originals, I never would have guessed the musical number was THAT old.

Even more impressive that the animation always changed, but never the music.

  • Used from 10/8/1988 to 9/19/92.

  • I hate that Daffy never gets any credit!

  • @UrkManRocks well if yer daffy duck fan like i am yer gonna cry yer eyes out after watching him in the news looney tunes show

  • @kkenyan and back before every one got so wussy and censored the best parts of the cartoons because they are to violent or racist blah blah blah. Damn asshole children of hippies trying to ruin all the good stuff, like classic cartoons, the classic STEEL playground equipment that was actually fun to play on, Warnings on everything because some dumbass kid choked on a plastic missile... What a load of crap.

I'm 21, agree completely. I remember the old steel playground equip. It was actually fun

  • remembering the saterday mornings in the 1980's on cbs

  • This was when cartoons were good.

  • History of BB&T:

9/13/86 - First episode aired; opening intro is recycled from the 1985-86 "Bugs Bunny/Looney Tunes Comedy Hour," only with "The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show" chyroned on the title card. Closing theme is also similar.

10/8/88 - First known episode to debut with the old "This Is It" music from the original 1960-68 "Bugs Bunny Show." The show first became one hour's worth around 6/18/88.

November 1989 - New title card created for individual shorts, in honor of Bugs Bunny's 50th b-day.

  • On with the show this is it!

And beats the hell out of the crap that Disney is STILL producing.

  • TWEETY, F*** OFF! THAT WAS VERY CHEESY ANIMATION, AND DAFFY HAS HIS OWN SHOW, SO F*** OFF BUGS!

  • I always thought tweety was a bastard, sylvester should have ate at least something during the cartoons instead of chasing after a little canary!!

  • Aww, yes!!! Takes me right back to a nice, cool, early-summer Brooklyn Saturday morning 20 years back. Like 'MrKilroy138,' I remember this intro a little different on ABC. But that's probably because I haven't seen it in 20 damn years. Lol! Wow, it's been way too long. If there is something YT is good for, it's classic shit like this. Us 25 and over folks need this on a regular.

Me & moms would always fight over the T.V. on Saturday mornings. Me for this, her for "Soul Train." :-) Good times.

  • Another good reason to wake up on Saturday mornings back in the day.

  • sucks that this show is pretty much the last looney tunes show to air on a major network

......THANK GOD THEY STILL AIR IT ON TELETOON RETRO (in canada :D)

  • I can remember when Looney Tunes was shown on both CBS and ABC- those were good times.

  • this show is my life, seriously ive watched this show since i was in diapers :P

  • Haha I remember watching this show when I was younger and right now I'm 12 lol

  • I wonder why Tweety had his name in the name of the show, when most of the show was based on Bugs Bunny.

  • @consolate1 Should've been called The Bugs Bunny and Daffy Show. Daffy sung with Bugs, not Tweety. He isn't marching with the rest of the LT characters.

  • For some reason when I saw this on ABC, the opening was different. Good video!

  • @MrKilroy138 Same audio, different animation.

  • I wish I was around to truly experience this show and looney tunes as a child... I was too late...

  • This bring back memoreis i just want to cry

  • lol, i remember Seinfeld singing this in one the episodes.

  • Looking a the cartoons kids are subjected to these days makes me appreciate that I was able to watch shows like this growing up. I still remember my Saturday morning lineup. Garfield and Friends at 8am(central) on CBS, Ninja Turtles at 9 and 9:30(CBS) and Bugs Bunny and Tweety at 10(ABC).

  • To me this was Looney Tunes with a Fun Different Introduction and Title. The others could've been called Porky Pig!

  • saturday mornings were never the same again after this went off the air.this was the epitome of saturday morning.

  • Amazing intro. I liked it as a child and love it even more as an adult.

  • There are 4 people that don't like this? WHY????!!!!!!! This is a classic. Man I miss this. This takes me back. I looked forward to watching this every saturday.

  • I love Looney Tunes. They are awesome.

  • Good Memories.

  • ugly as balls animation that doesn't compare to the Gerry Chiniquy original

  • yo im mad this sho stopped i used to watch this every sat

  • greatest show ever I watch this every morning before school

  • I LOVE THE INTRO TO THIS!!!

  • Nolstasia~

  • "What's Up, Doc?" (1950) 0:00-0:02

    "Home Tweet Home" (1950) 0:03

    "Long Haired Hare" (1949) 0:12-0:14

  • Why did Tweety get recognition? He never fucking did anything! Daffy did a song and dance number, give him some goddamn recognition.

  • @doddsino That how i fell about evertime i watch Loony Tunes and Daffy is made the Bad guy

  • @cubix67 even if daffy's the bad guy he still deserves some recognition/respect instead of tweety

  • @YouToons100 hold on how is daffy made to be the bad guy i don't understand.

  • @GrimeySkillz because no one appreciates him.

  • @YouToons100 the fuck you talkin about, everyone appreciates daffy. he is one of the most popular characters of all looney tunes second to bugs bunny.

  • @cubix67 Thanks for posting can you post a g-major and chipmunk version of this theme song?? plz let me know!!! thanks!!!!!!

  • @cubix67 Warner Bros. likes to promote Bugs as the big popular star and Daffy as a pathetic wanna-be.

I get a big kick out of Bugs, but he's not my all time favorite. That honor has to go to Yogi Bear!

  • @doddsino what can a little chicky do anyway but get attention from all the community cats

  • @doddsino

because he was in easily half the clips in the show. Him, sylvester, Granny and Spike.

  • @doddsino Bawwwww

  • I wanted Sylvester to eat that bird so friggin bad. Tweety was nothing but a self centered self proclaimed victim of animal racism. I would bet my life on the fact that Tweety took money out of Granny's pocket book for her or his (whatever) herion / crack habit.

  • @doddsino That is the running gag with Daffy, no matter what he does he never gets acknowledged, always in the shadow of Bugs LOL

  • I think Bugs Bunny is so hot!

  • Ahhhh! I feel like a little kid again. This is what made Saturday mornings so good.

  • I used to watch this EVERY NIGHT 8:00, channel 47, saw every episode. Then...the horrifying night where I turned to channel 47 and....it was gone ;(

  • @guudgidga same here!! lol

  • I just nostalgia all over my labtop

  • Damn, ABC saturday mornings are just not the same anymore, and thats for the worse! I'm 29 but it makes me sad to know that today's generation does not get to wake up early on saturday for this, the real ghostbusters, beetlejuice or the gummi bears :( Anyway, I especially loved those claymation "after these messages, we'll be right back!" segments. The same goes for the old days on friday nights for ABC's TGIF, when they aired Perfect Stangers and Family Matters. Thank god for Youtube!!!

  • @gorygonzalez You took the words right out of my mouth.

  • speedy, porky, lola, petunia, and melissa are in my line with the rest of those. where's speedy?

  • damn im old

  • *Sighs* 40 years... I know it's been ten years, but I still can't except it. ^^

  • now i can say that ABC means absolute boring chanell -.-'

  • does anybody know where i can find the ending credit theme for the bugs and tweety show.ive been looking for it but i cant find it anywhere....

  • This is what I have been looking for, for years. This is the version I most remember from the mid-late 80's.

    Wow.

  • Did they reuse the animation cells from the original for this but edited them a bit?

  • This show was the cherry on the Saturday morning cake. Right before the B&TS was The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and before that was The Real Ghostbusters! This was my favorite line-up. The mid-to-late 80's was THE BEST days of ABC. Back when you actually got excited to get up on Saturday mornings.

  • Why Tweety? WHY? It would make more sense as Bugs and Daffy. I mean, its Bugs and Daffy singing the song togethor, and Daffy is better than Tweety (In my opnion, but most people will agree with me).

  • Wasn't this opening the new one, when they moved the show from CBs to ABC?

  • @Motorcyclephil Yeah, you're right. This is the ABC version.

  • Hahaha, this shows EVERYDAY where I'm from.

  • LOVE THE ENDING ( tweetu hats falls

0 NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING THT=AT

  • I love bugs bunny and tweety show classic just classic

  • I love this cartoon. Bugs bunny is the best ever, and Warner Bros' is legendary.

  • Back when Saturday morning cartoons were still good

  • Hell ya man

  • @kkenyan and back before every one got so wussy and censored the best parts of the cartoons because they are to violent or racist blah blah blah. Damn asshole children of hippies trying to ruin all the good stuff, like classic cartoons, the classic STEEL playground equipment that was actually fun to play on, Warnings on everything because some dumbass kid choked on a plastic missile. They've ruined everything that was great, and now we have Spongebob. What a load of crap.

  • @GeneralKenobiSIYE Im gonna make sure it comes back ive started my own animation the preview will be on in prob 2 too 4 weeks

  • Ah it was a good show for introducing kids to Looney Tunes but today I'd rather just get them on DVD to show kids. And that's because this show heavily edited the cartoons for time & heavily cesored them for content. I think the people who made these deserve to let their work stand as they released them.

  • I wish Warner Bros would restart production of Bugs Bunny again.

  • god these cartoons are MUCH better than the bullshit kids watch now with total censorship, terrible animation, and basically all the same plots, we're turning our kids into wimps with our crap shows with stupid merchandise like the video games

  • Ah, does this bring back memories. Those were the good old days.

  • Overture, curtain, lights, This is it, the night of nights No more rehearsing and nursing our parts We know every part by heart Overture, curtain, lights This is it, we'll hit the heights And oh what heights we'll hit On with the show this is it. Tonight what heights we'll hit On with the show this is it. The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show.
  • Well this confirms to me that there WAS a full version of the Bugs Bunny Overture v2 (the "tuxedo" version). I've often wondered about that.

Would love to see it in its entirety. Complete with Bugs Bunny introducing his "feathered friend" the Road Runner.

  • I loved these old memories that would be cool if they all post them on air at least once iam 26 lnow those good times

  • It's unfortunate that this is basically the last Looney Tunes show to air on a major broad casting network, or at least it has been.

Then again these were the days before Disney bought ABC.

  • @lordkremlore u r so rite i remember waking up wit ma buddies to watch every cartoon that came on saturdays then rite after the bugs bunny n tweetysho soul train came on then i wud watch that b4 i went out side to play smh those were the days

  • @lordkremlore Teletton still airs this program in reruns.

  • @lordkremlore And Warner Bros. claimed full exclusivity of the Toons. *sigh*

  • so cool cartons i loved them:X now i gota wathc that idiot hanah motnata or zack adn cody or That idiot bitch or the Jonas Fags!

  • When I was a kid,if I wanted to see Bugs and Tweety.....I had to wake up at 6am.......Which worked out cause I did Saturday junior bowling at 8am then.

  • funny thing, my brothers had bowling too on saturday mornings! And i would watch this with the old bartender in the Bar room every saturday morning bowling, i miss the old days

  • @spiked200

and after some tom & jerry

  • I loved this show the only I never got was that daffy opened the show but it was called bus and tweety

  • Cartoon Network or Boomerang should re-air Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show on Saturday mornings again for nostalgic purposes. I feel sorry for kids who have to watch these lackluster cartoons nowadays.

  • @adrizzy789 Believe it or not, they've just granted your wish. Sort of. They did a marathon on the 15th, and they're showing an hour of Looney Tunes a day now starting at 11AM Eastern. I'm not sure if they're airing on weekends or not, but given that it's been years since the Looney Tunes had a regular time slot on the channel it's still progress.

  • @adrizzy789 I totally agree with you. I LOVE this show, and I grew up watching it on Both CN and ABC.

  • daffy duck never got the credit he deserved hes like me

  • Yeah...that's bullshit. Fuck that little yellow bird...give me Daffey!!

Also no props to fuckin' Porky Pig in the parade? What a joke!

  • some times this is on tletoon channel 40 and if you have teletoon retro u can get so many old shows

  • legendary!!, this was what saturday cartoons were all about, nowadays saturday is just another day

  • this was classic on ABC Saturday Mornings at 11 am followed by

    Soul Train

  • I remember this from the early 60's, this is the 1st time I've seen it since way back then, I always thought they weresaying "oh mousier" but hey I was a little kid...

  • Wow, this version of the intro! I remembered it!

It's still weird to me. I still have a hard time accepting that Saturday mornings don't have this anymore. I'm going on 28, so I grew up watching the version CBS (before it was Bugs Bunny & Tweety) and the one that came on ABC in the later 80s. To me, this was the epitome of Saturday morning shows!

It's a shame kids don't get to watch these classics now.

  • Good memories. ^^

  • Welcome to our childhood everyone!

  • I remember this being on every Saturday and Sunday but at 5pm...early 90's....anyone else remember the same?

  • CBC?

In America it ran for 40 at various times on Saturday Morning.

  • not the CBC, it was on global every saturday and sunday at 5pm. At least thats when I used to watch it.

  • bugs and all these characters are classic

  • Now THIS was a TRUE Classic for abc Staurday Mornings during the late 80's and the 90's.

  • the rodrunner is hopping right in front of wile e coyote. why dosnt he just grab him?

  • this shows early in the morning on teletoon! only thing i watch on teletoon these days :(

  • Good thing they still show this in Canada on Teletoon. :). I wish you guys in the U.S could watch it too :(

  • Fuckin Rights!

  • If the graphics in this intro was from 1983,

I'd like to see the full 1983-'84 season

intro for The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner

Show, with the enhanced stage graphics.

It's the same song, and everything was

still intact, even the Road Runner song.

It was only in the 1984-'85 season when

the show changed the theme song to

"Cartoon Gold", one year after 1983.

  • The Second Opener Was a Little Better Note Pepe LE Pew and Porky Pig Were added To The Cast Of Characters Who Walk across The Stage While Hippety Hopper had been Removed

  • and they should make new episodes

  • "The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries" in my opinion was the best modern-day incarnation of the characters...I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that the guy voicing Sylvester, Joe Alaskey, is uncanny and sounds almost like a carbon copy of Mel Blanc...plus you had June Foray as Granny...every time I caught an episode of that show I always laughed. "Duck Dodgers" was okay, too...but a lot of the charm of the characters in the classic-era came from Mel Blanc's voice acting.

  • ...and because of that, a lot of the modern-day adaptations of the characters are viewed as inferior...also, anytime a new production featuring any number of the Warner Brothers characters is screened, you almost always will come across those who simply will not give modern-day versions a chance. I'm not like that, though...as I mentioned, Joe Alaskey's vocals is what caught my ears and as long as the characters retain, vocally, some shades of Mel Blanc, I tend to enjoy them more.

  • i still love the lineup of toons.

tweety bird, sylvester jr, baby kangaroo, yosemite sam, sylvester, elmer fudd, road-runner,wile e.coyote, and foghorn leghorn, and finally see sylvester's son, and road-runner, but we didn't see road-runner and sylvester jr in the bugs bunny show. two characters replaced them, is speedy gonzales and pepe le pew.

  • i love bugs bunny

  • Were this new episodes, or just reairings of the classic Looney Tunes?

  • oh, this particular show evolved from THE BUGS BUNNY SHOW, which debuted on ABC in 1960 in prime-time. the concept of the show was to spotlight the classic theatrical cartoons from the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies. So, from 1960 until 2000, ABC as well as CBS, would air Warner Brothers cartoons in a series of package shows. There was one series called "The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour", for example. There was another one called "The Daffy/Speedy/Sylvester/Tweety Show" etc etc.

  • In 1986 the series was re-titled "The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show". It had previously been called "The Bugs Bunny/Looney Tunes Comedy Hour". Anyway, the show debuted in 1960 in prime-time, moved to Saturday mornings in 1962, and aired on Saturday mornings non-stop, on ABC, then CBS, and then back to ABC again, until 2000...and ABC canceled the series after 40 years on the air. All of those classic Warner Brothers cartoons from the '40s - '60s were re-ran hundreds of times on Saturday mornings.

  • so, taking in all of that, that's 40 years of Bugs Bunny and company on Saturday mornings...a couple of generations were raised on those cartoons. I was born in 1976 and I was raised on the cartoons because ABC was still airing the show...but those born in the early to mid '90s and are teenagers now...no, most of them wouldn't know Bugs Bunny from Crusader Rabbit. I'm exaggerating of course...

  • but seriously...there's a genuine concern due to these cartoons having aired on Saturday morning for so long, 1960-2000, and then on Boomerang until 2005 or 2006 as "Bugs and Daffy", the concern is the lack of wide exposure causes the characters to die if that makes any sense? The DVD collections are wonderful...I have quite a few...and You Tube is great at promoting the cartoons as well...but little kids still watch TV...and they're not being heavily exposed to Bugs and Daffy and the rest.

  • For those in Canada and overseas, my commentary reflects America's television companies...I know a lot of these cartoons still air internationally in some places.

  • I was born in 1988 and know Crusader Rabbit (public domain tapes)

Anyways, really only kids that prolly wont know Bugs are those born around 2000 and on.

In the 90s, my main place for Looney Tunes was Cartoon Network, Nickelodean and Kid's WB. Every once in like TWO whiles I would catch em on ABC.

  • @ACcountryFan

Unfortunately its theme music is somewhat similar to another 1960-61 season primetime-turned-Saturday morning player, Hanna-Barbera's "The Flintstones." The latter show's music was changed from "Rise and Shine" to "Meet the Flintstones" for its 3rd season (1962-63), by which point The Bugs Bunny Show had moved to Saturday mornings, to avoid musical confusion.

  • @ClassicTVMan81 , I've Heared Bugs Buny's Overture song...and the Flintstone's Rise and Shine song that was used before "the more Fimliar one "Meet the Flinstone's" I don't think they sound alike or similar at all as you mentioned. but that's just my opinion. I'm not saying it isn't true only that It doesn't seem that way to me.

  • @Astraldragon1 You're right. There IS a version of the Flintstones theme that sounds like this. It was used for at least the first season.

  • I watch this everyday. Thank you Teletoon Retro. Thank you.

  • Yup!

  • They need to have more shows like this for kids no a days because im 12 and my friends and me were always bored with the tv so we got the retro teletoon channel we never stop wacthing now the have to make more shows like this

  • I watch this on Teletoon but it mostly shows on Teletoon Retro.

  • those were the days..i'm getting old

  • now why can't they show stuff like this anymore?

  • i love this show-tori

  • i got to larn the theme for school
