  • Very smooth!

  • Wow this was amazing. What brand board do you guys use there?

  • @Gnarlissimo

I appreciate it, but I don't think he's saying "wipe," because when he says it, I don't see a transition.

  • This is fantastic! How did you know which camera shows which scene? Did you have several TV sets to see each camera? Where were you seated or where did you work?

  • @narnia0100 Gallery has feeds of all sources - cameras, online VT segments, banner as separate, etc etc all going to monitors in the wall. Also have Preview and live TX monitors...

Although the BBC's Stewart Morris was FAR more entertaining..

  • I watched your other director's track audio as well as this one. I gotta say, that is one well-called and clean show, and I'm using these vids to study and learn how to better call shows myself. Great work, and hopefully I can work on market #26's level someday.

  • This is great stuff! Thank you for uploading.

Question: There is a term you use and I'm not quite sure what you are saying. Ex. 4:50 into winter storm, it sounds like you are saying "wit" or "whip"?

Again, thanks for sharing your Directors track and please upload more!

  • @smithck I believe that cue was "wipe," just spoken quickly.

  • I'm starting to realize that I'm taking journalism as a reporter. But I'd rather be a News Director. Are these two different things? Even with experience as a reporter could I be a News Director?

  • It would be great if you could give an explanation of some of the things you were saying

  • @matters5,

Let me know what you wanna know and I'll get back to you. Always glad to help out!

    Christian

  • EXTREMELY smooth broadcast!

    A+

  • When you start a VT going, before you "take" it, you say "track" - what is this referring to?

I work at a university in the UK (UCLAN) and we have TV production courses that I occasionally help out with. It really is quite cool and I might look at learning more about it :)

  • @wuzzlevideos Probably the same as the BBC's "Stand by VT##... Run VT##" (or whatever the equivalent of actually playing out from tape is

  • Thanks for posting. Good stuff! If possible, please post more.

  • Fantastic directing skills.... so clear and concise.... great video and thanks for sharing.

  • Awesome! I have wanted to be a cameraman since i was 4, probably around 17 years now, and ive been an extra on 3 films next year. Your an awesome director! Funny banter too :) x x

  • Incredible directing... beautiful newscast. I am in awe!

  • Blaine, thanks for the kind words.

  • What are the first words on the track? 'Microwave two'...'Mike, wave two..' or what?

    Anyways, looks really cool!

  • i think it is microwave two.. because the outside broadcast facilities used microwave signals for feeding the live shot to the newsroom :D

  • Clearly why you have your Emmys.

    Glorious work, Sir.
