i have the 5800 its better because of the 3G the screen is larger the battery life is longer

and you can buy a silicon shield you dont even notice it on the phone i have mine for a month now and it was worth every penny love the phone..

me and my cousin have, 5530 and 5800 respectively. and in my opinion, 5530 is simply a second draft.

with the exception of the gp5 and 3g, 5530 is a much more polished and developed phone (not to mention) more compact

i guess i'm already too late but i had to decide between the 5530 and 5800 as well - i haven't bought any yet but as i understand it, the 5530 is more sturdy, while the 5800 has more features.

since i value reliability over at least features like 3g (i have no desire for video calls or internet usage without wlan connection) and gps, i'll probably order the 5530 later today...

overall, the 5530 is a really good phone. the only problem is that the keyguard slider rattles whenever you shake the phone, and it really bugged me knowing a thing like that.

@sh4dow83 no, seriously. it does rattle. it's one of my concerns as a consumer. but i did try a new one on the store and the keyguard feels really really stiff. so i think and hope that it should be just fine. im still choosing myself and i'd go for the 5530 if not for the issue on the keyguard...

i'll probably just get it from some online shop, since a rattling button probably wouldn't bother me anyway and i'd have to drive for at least 30 minutes to get to a shop that sells phones... and on top of that, it'd probably cost 10-20% more there...

ok. all the respect to your decisions, man. yeah. i already tried a new unit and the keyguard really feels stiff and good. so it shouldnt be a problem. as for me... i think im gonna need some more thinking whether im ready either for the 5230, 5530... but seriously, if i can go through 5800 one more time, im gonna buy it. it's my top choice. it's almost the same as the n97 with just a lil difference with the cam res... but check out the difference in price. dang!

i do need wlan, so 5230 is out of the question for me, even though the price would be nice. 5800... if it would be 50 bucks cheaper, i'd probably get it instead of the 5530. but at that price, i want a cell to have a sturdy shell.

i just realized that used iphone 2g phones are available for less than the 5530... which makes me think about buying one of these instead. camera and display resolution might be worse but you know the kind of support and applications iphone gets...

just out here i think 5800 is just 2 to 4 dollars more expensive than the 5530... im not updated right now since the last time i bought my fiance's 5800 was before new year's eve, and phone price constantly change out here --- philippines. i think 5800 go around USD 250 now.and the 5530 is at 222 back then. idk now maybe it've gone cheaper. im not sure.

of course you can change the color expect the body of the phone and themes are not available ... download your desired themes and put them in your phone via USB

i'd go for 5800 in memory capacity and the available 3g. but i'd go for 5530 for the design and its thinner and its cheaper. ^-^. 5800's reception has a check written all over it.

I'm planning to buy this phone but the only drawback though is that it only comes with 4GB microsd and it does not have SPEAKER PHONE!Probably I could just buy a 16GB microsd for it but I'm afraid I might lose the preinstalled applications on the 4GB microsd in the box.

I really love the look of the pink one!But unlike the 5800 it does not come w/ extra accessories like the plectrum,stand and case.

5530 will break all the recordsbecause of it's key features (touchscreen,Wi-Fi,symbian S60).Who cares about 3G while having wi-fi ? or who needs an A-GPS when there is no built-in receiver ? . also 5530 is abou 65 mhz faster than 5800 while is cheaper. I'm gonna buy it for sure

Well this is strange,,

Since its a s60 5th device why would nokia make better ui for this device? It's pretty annoying that I can't control the music directly on my 5800 from the home bar (there's Now Playing and Play button but if click it goes to the music menu) and they call it Xpress Music??

And no. You cannot see Now Playing in Contacts Bar home screen. I hope they put some fix on this soon... via firmware update?

when i turn to landscape from portrait it lags. when i touch an icon it lags some 1.2sec. i'd say. when viewing photo it lags quite badly. that's my experience of using it.

feature wise 5800 is better no doubt. it is called the 5530 not the 5930. personally i wish they made a better touch screen phone rather than a strip down version of the 5800. looks wise, 5530 owns.

Nokia doesn't have to "target" people. Everyone knows them. They aim phones at different generations alright, but it's not like they're evil and preying on poor people. If you can't afford it, don't get it. Besides, as more phones and companys compete in the smartphone market, prices will have to come down.
