It was a good one, and I loved how much Jermaine used head movement and better defense. Those two things showed there's definitely hope for him again, and his stamina was even deserving of a higher grade this time around. It was a good one, and I loved how much Jermaine used head movement and better defense. Those two things showed there's definitely hope for him again, and his stamina was even deserving of a higher grade this time around. It seems he and Ozell were telling the truth about their chemistry -- like JT's much more clear-headed in the corner between rounds, as if he and Ozell can feel each other's thoughts, allowing him to then make better decisions in battle.

I'm sorry if I don't believe Jermaine did not train hard enough for what was thought sufficient, so I don't subscribe to the "Oh, he didn't take this seriously." I believe he did. But his training just does not bring the best results against someone like KP. Being able to "dig deeper down the stretch, compared to what his opponent is able" is what he needs.
I wish him the best; for he does not deserve some of the criticism. It could happen to anyone not shown how to prepare suitably.

I liked this fight a lot. I believe Taylor has not learned to keep his guard up when fighting at close range. If you are going to have your guard down the whole night, then maybe you should learn to fight like Mayweather. I'm sure Stewart would have broken him from that terrible habit by now.

Oh, and that video above is funny as hell, too. But truthfully, I think Jermaine is a soldier, who just had the better man on the night in front of him. I won't knock him too much for that, although it's observable to anyone with boxing knowledge that Jermaine makes technical mistakes from boxing 101 that another professional with skills, particularly with power, will make him pay for.

Why in the world do people here keep saying that "I bet YOU wouldn't talk all that to his face!," when Jermaine is, whether he's good or bad, a professional, which means even if he isn't seen as the best at it, he's supposed to be able to beat us, without street fighting that is. Still, people have right to their opinion about him, being as...we are able to...without having to worry about the threat of actually fighting him. We're not paid to do what he does after all.

He fought a boring fight against Spinks but this last fight showed that it was not Taylors fault. He came to fight, and I respect him for that. He could have stunk the place up by running all night but he didn't.

I have to agree to a point, Jermaine Taylor was basically given the title back then, he's fought some pretty boring and pathetic fights and has out right whored himself out to the boxing world. Fighting "whoever brings the most money." So much for love of the sport. It was only a matter of time before he got in the ring with a better fighter. It happens to everyone.

dude...hate em or whatever you want..but you know taylor has a bomb ass jab. He's a good fighter that thought too much of himself and didn't give the guy he fought enough credit. Taylor's been my boy since the olympics, so I know his ass can box. He got tore down by ohio though I'll admit. My advice to taylor...next time don't underestimate the man across from you.
