During Katrina - which I was in - the wind picked up the asphalt and rolled it back like a sardine can and the water washed away ahd stones and sand underneath so you couldn't tell where the road had been -- this was in Plaquemines Parish - south of the 9th ward and closer to the Gulf by miles.
Two sides of a nation with each one contending with its own mother nature challenge. You're overwhelmed with wind and rain. We're exhausted in California with non-stop 100 degree temperatures. The authorities say this is the new normal. If this is normal, I'd hate to experience the abnormal.

Shannon, wow, just wow. I've only seen a road washed out once in my life. But it wasn't that bad. I've seen raving rivers before...I live in front of a creek that has been out of it's banks before. Anyway, hope you're staying safe!!
