I think that there should be a law that criminals cannot own a gun..also, it should be illegal to use a gun to commit a crime....ALSO it should be illegal to shoot clerks for no reason...

Once we pass those laws, you won't see any more crimes like you see above....

Maybe "in addition to a pistol," but not "instead of a pistol." Do you forget that a shotgun is a LOT more unwieldy to bring on target? Harder to keep concealed, and cannot be carried on the person of the clerk. What if the robber rushes the store and herds everyone to the back? No time to grab the shotgun. Now you're at the back, defenseless--unless the gun you have is a PISTOL, carried ON YOUR PERSON. Don't offer advice about what you don't understand, son.

BTW its illegal to shoot someone that just robbed you in the back. After the threat is over, all you can do really is call the Police.

Depends on the state. Generally, if there is still an imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm the use of lethal force is justified. An example would be the robber shooting over his shoulder as he ran out of the store.

I think in the next few years this law will change, people are getting fed up with criminals and a high percentage of criminals will shoot the clerk, so why make the clerk wait until the Bad guy shoots first?

The time is coming that a law will allow a clerk to shoot on sight of a gun in the bad guys hand.

I have a CHL LIcense and as soon as I see a gun,knife or club in a bad guys hands I will shoot to defend myself, loved ones or even strangers that are being assaulted.
