One of my all time faves! My mom used to tell me the story of this cartoon as a bedtime story for the entire month of December, starting on Thanksgiving night. This is my favorite Sniffles. The Bookworm being second. I haven't seen this in over 50 years but remember the lullaby song and accompanying scene and also Sniffles finally giving in to sleep and floating off to bed. Stop the strip at 1:15 and enjoy the minute details of Sniffle's Dear Santa list.

My very favorite part is 3:55 when Sniffles' eyes are closing and then he musters up a big shiny SMILE to prove he's awake. My dad and I saw this on tv a thousand years ago and every so often when I catch him dozing off in front of the tv with the remote in his hand, he wakes up and smiles really big like Sniffles! It's hilarious!!

This was the most "innocent" cartoon that Warner Brothers ever made. There was not a villian,chase scene,violence , or (much) dated humor. Instead, a sweet Christmas story the young and old could relate to which is just as contemporary this Christmas as it was 70 years ago.

Theres a dvd with 12 SNIFFLES cartoons out. Anyone remember the one with the Bookworm,Toy Trouble. And one with a little bat that looked like Sniffles with little black wings under his arms, Brave Little Bat. These were normal everyday cartoons in the late 1950's and early 1960's, .Wonderful safe warm and toasty 1960's memories , i miss it , . show your kids this cartoon.
