fucken parasites all the venues are killing people for the lousy money they give back ,such loving caring social responsable people running there own selfish fuck you all agenda, for them selves. there all fat fucken dirty scum sucking parasites may they rot in hell.
@TheKenny098 If you understood anything about the pre-commitment measures, you would realise that they take nothing from the club owners, and give nothing to the government. I like the random use of fucken in the middle of your sentence as well, its pretty cool that you've got WiFi living in a trailer park.
@JasperMcLaren you are an incredibly ignorant person if you truly believe that. addiction is a disease. these people need to be helped, not shunned and discarded
is there not a biiger issue in the country at the moment like cant the govermant worry about brothel issues or major drug epidemics??? is gambling the only problem? wilkie is from tazmania so who cares anyway he should worry about it in his own state
@sorny1 rofl XD, they are focusing on this over brothels, because brothels don't produce billions in debt a year, and major drug epidemics? that is like curing cancer, not going to happen, and Wilkie cares about people in general, not just the people in his own state.
@hilllbilllyjoe lol i take it you are from tasmania aswell its all good the pollies can do whatever they want wilkie resigned anyway he reminds me of that guy who was in parlimant back in the 1980's who wanted to people to wear helmuts when they drove cars what was his name??? oh thats right no one remembers these people lol!!!!!!!
The people who get hurt more are the families, the children, the husbands and wives. yes it would be great if people could "just be responsible" and people can do this if they are in a balanced head space. Addiction is unbalanced and thus responsibility can require professional help. If we could get past the point of people becoming addicted in the first place, then there would be less strain / economic stimulus for other areas such as family courts and lawyers respectively etc.
This is a joke! Thousands of jobs are at risk here for the minority of problem gamblers! This is a pathetic way of trying to stop problem gambling when all a problem gambler will do is go home and bet away their cash online. Andrew Wilkie has no idea of what he is doing and it will never pass if they do a trial run to see if it works - because it simply wont. This is just side stepping the responsibility we have for our community, they need to come up with a more appropriate strategy.
taking atms out of the gaming rooms? well i havnt been around long enough to see them in the rooms them selves.. but if i lose my cash on my ill walk to the atm... ive even tried leaving cash at home so i can have money to survive an pay bills... when ive lost the cash on me you go insane almost an you goto like a brain dead state which is you driving back home to get the last of your money because you think you can win it back.. no 1 truly understands how fu**ked a gambling problem is.
@Dan2529 well said mate people will never understand it and how tempting it is to try and win back the loses especially when you feel the feature is coming soon and you dont want to leave because someone else gets it thats what these machines do they tease the mind I know that feeling of wanting money I like having it on me thats why its even more tempting to play and Clubs are open all the time I was surprised one day on my way to work at 8:30 am that club was still open this will never work
@Christizm yerp... the other week i won 3 grand starting with 50 bucks.. next day spent about 400 of that on shit i needed.. then spent 1300 the next night out drinking an gambling.. an spent the rest doing the same the next night.. 2 days and it was all gone an i was literally exhausted because for 3 days i was up all night long till 6 am starting at around 8pm gambling an drinking.. and when all the cash was gone i was like wtf i felt over it ready to stop.. for about 6 days
@Dan2529 I know how you feel exactly mate I do the same thing I sometimes get a big win but then I go back and try to win it and because im so stupid I know exactly how you feel then theres that feeling of guilt and anger knowing what you could have done with the money bought some expensive things and banked some money whenever I get a win I almost certainly or almost go back again to try and win more because my loses from the past are always in my head or in my mind. Pokies sux but I Cant stop
they need to just get rid of them.... im trying to deal with a bad problem and im 22.... if they werent there i couldnt gamble... but i mean even aristocrat is starting to release there games on european online casinos... just goto there website and see for your self.. no matter how much ive won i always put it back through its just impossible to walk away when your 'in the zone' getting the feature is just the main mission an gettin the win is the bonus because it keeps you going.
Why can't people just be responsible for their own actions? Ohh poor me I'm addicted to the pokies... what a joke. People are too quick to find excuses for their own failings and weak to not approach their problems head on, rather blaming anyone and anything as a soft get out option. Infuriating.
@Jdh089 Isn't it the ultimate act of responsibility to programme yourself a gambling limit before you sit down at the machine? And don't forget Jdh089 that addiction is a sickness. Society should not turn their back on the sick and should certainly never smugly describe the sick as "weak".
@Jdh089 most addicts are unaware of their addictive tenancies making it impossible to overcome by themselves. If everyone in our society looked at things the way you do, civilisation wouldn't work at all.
