  • when they did the return of the baron is there a music clip of them singing it just like this one above ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ if any can help

  • Good song, and a good band. The dancing was terrible, as it is with most white people.

  • I remember in Australia in the 70's they would bleep 'bloody' out of the song.

  • Charles M. Schultz must've been flattered when he first heard this song.

  • Why is this talked about being a Christmas song? This isnt Snoopy's Christmas song. Its the original song that Snoopy's Christmas was made from. Kinda like a sequel.Lol!

  • Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen. R.I.P

  • good bridge, that one

  • ahh the memories

  • Ohhh shit! Now this brings back

    memories....Thanks for posting this!

  • Man, I used to listen to this song when I was a little kid, and I haven't heard it since until now. Time warp!

  • great band we play their song in my band..peace be safe..larry

  • all those electric guitars and no cords?

  • Some epic dancing here.

  • at the beginning, is that mostly faux german? i caught the words "achtung" & "schweinkopfen," but that's about it.

  • @wallofvideo It's sort of actually German. It roughly translates as "Attention! Now we sing, together, the story of the pig headed dog and the beloved Red Baron!"

  • @wrwest thanks for the german lesson! or should i say "danken sie"? from here on, i'll keep that in mind every time i hear this song.

  • the blond guys dancing makes this complete.

  • Ahhh, the old 'Goofy Greats' album! Wore that thing out.

  • When this song was popular, I was wearing paisley shirts, Beatle boots, and my wide belt with the buckle on the side, not the front.

  • I remember when they would show snoopy shooting down nazi planes

  • @BLAM1ONE The Red Baron wasn't a Nazi.

  • @husker7141 I know he's not a nazi Im saying in the cartoon snoopy would shoot down nazi war planes

  • @BLAM1ONE There wasn't any Nazis in WW1.

  • Thanks For Sharing !

  • Hair cuts those days..

  • I like this one, but I like the one with christmas bells better

  • nice song

  • Wish we would hear this played more on the radio,it just isnt xmas till i hear this and im fifty years old and happy to say this song is xmas to this overgrown kid.

  • @MarieRember Great post - I feel the same way about the Beach Boys' "Little Saint Nick!"

  • No christmas as a kid was complete without this song-Go Snoopy!!!!!!!

  • @northernlitez1 this isn't the christmas version, but yeah i guess its okay for christmas also.

  • @mjcamck Don't sweat that Nazi renegade. Our Israeli allies are closing in on him with execution papers in hand.

  • @JohnnyBlade2000 - Hello. Closing in on the Red Baron or Snoopy? Please.Thank you. PEACE.

  • @mjcamck On that trap BrokenneckYgor He needs to quit smoking crack.

  • @Bobster868686 Whats their air speed tragectory?

  • this song IS FUCKING AWSOME

  • Snoopy vs The Red Baron: now THAT'S a REAL DOGfight.

  • Two years after this original came out(this is from 1966), an almost exact carbon copy cover version, was released by The Peter Pan Pop Band & Singers, for a children's album by The Peter Pan label. The differences are only minimal.

The voices are slightly higher pitched, and the funny lyrics "so he asked The Great Pumpkin for a new battle plan" are, for reasons unknown changed to,

"So he figured all out a new battle plan" Other that, that you could easily mistake their version for this one.

  • I have the mp3 for this song

  • I have all of these on 45's but my record player bit the dust some years ago...so can't play them any more

  • @luvlipstickkisses You can buy a good record player now for about $150 but you will need a pre amp for it as generally they don't have their own like some equipment. But these can be picked up for about $15 on ebay and electronics shops. I paid $12 for mine so they are pretty cheap. Hope this helps you get another one as you would have some great music gethering dust there and that is a pity. Gary

  • @reinhardjeep who the hell are you listening to,,, here is a whole REAL world out there,,, know what I mean,,,

  • Charles Schulz probablhy came up with this from his childhood. My father in the 1930's used to sit on a picnic table in the back yard with his childhood chums and pretend to be flying aces. As for Snoopy, he had been portrayed as imagining he was a vulture and other wild animals, but donning the flyking helmet to fight the Red Baron was a Great Leap Forward to going from being a dog with great dreams to a little human in a dog suit. But, in 67, the R.G. song RULED!

  • A quick tribute to the "Louie, Louie" song at 1:46 while the guy without the instrument shows off some more moves.

  • After they released this record ,they were each handed a bottle of Scotch and a revolver. The only way to maintain your honour is suicide after this.

  • i read once they got sued by charles schulz because they didn't have permission to use pics of snoopy on this

  • Hey everyone, youtube wont let me post a link here, but you can figure it out. Please come visit us at

    facebook dot com/theroyalguardsmen

  • When they played this song on radio when it first came out they Beeped out "Bloody" in those days as it was a no no.

  • We heard this one a lot too! :)

  • Ok, no sound. Nothing saying that the audio has been disabled. I even looked at something else to see if it was my computer. Nope, the other clip has sound. I'm guessing that the YouTube fairies have been at it again. Pity.

  • Love this Tune: Thee guys went out on a limb with this Song! "It's number 1 in my eye!

  • Cute o_o;

  • Why is Snoopy giving the " Heil Hitler " raised hand ?

  • @mrstevehartman He's not - he's leaning against his Sopwith Camel (actually his doghouse), but only Snoopy is being seen here.

  • Comment removed

  • @praguephotog It was a joke. However, at 0:3 seconds, the musician in the middle does appear to give a " Heil Hitler ". HMMMMM....

  • Manfred von Richthofen was by far the best pilot on either side during the war. It's unfortunate that his streak ended at 80.

  • My mother used to have this record.

  • @msannomalley I have this record :)

I'm sure my parents grew to hate it, we kids played it so much. Snoopy's Christmas is still a holiday fave for all of us.

  • @bikermann42 We used to play it all the time, too. :-) I'm sure it drove everyone nuts.

  • cute when they " bust a move "

  • i wonder about these guys if they look back on themselves and say WTF was i thinking having my hair like that......lol jk

  • @kathigrg

Everybody says that 20 years later. Except me, I just wish I had my hair BACK. LMAO

  • Hey everyone! The Royal Guardsmen are now on Facebook, and you can join their page now! These guys were actually a killer garage band, and like most pop groups, the good stuff isn't always what was played on the radio. They are back together, and still making great music.

Please come on by Facebook and stay tuned for details regarding news, tour dates, new music and more.

    Thanks!

  • 68 people are obviously german.

  • That was great.

  • Awesome video. I have been looking for the lyrics to this song. So far none of them contain the german words.

  • what i did to find out the translation was watch the version with the lyrics write it down then translate it at one of many free translation programs or find and old german person.

  • I saw the red baron lying drunk on the beach at Waikiki. He was pathetic.

  • SORRY BUT SNOOPY WAS DECLARED MENTALLY INCOMPETANT BY LUCIE, CHARLIE BROWNS SISTER AND WAS RELEASED ON HIS OWN RECOGNANCE LOL

  • Attention! now we sing together the history about the pig headed dog and the love of the red baron - german translation

  • @MRdeathGodification

I have been wondering for 20 years what they were saying. I would like to know the german words. Something abouth schwein hund (Pig dog). I have just today began examining german rock music.

  • love this video, also the fact the drummer is my uncle :D

  • @sgtsnowball1 No fooling? Who is the lead singer? A few years ago they made Snoopy vs. Osama where it was reavealed that Snoopy was the one who killed Osama bin Laden. While it doesn't EXACTLY sound like they were lip synching here it seems they played to the backdrop of the recording. sgt snowball: John Burdett is really your uncle. Wow. Chris Nunley and Barry Winslow are listed as vocals but I don't really know who is who.

  • @UglySean john burdett was the original drummer, he left the band a few years ago. so john "my uncle" was the original drummer. after they wrote snoopy vs osama, he retired from the royal guardsmen.

  • LOVE THIS SONG, GREW UP HEARING IT PLAYED ON THE RADIO

  • realmente muito bom

  • I did not know Nick Lowe was in The Royal Guardsmen...

  • nope pagan actually but it's cool I like jews

  • @mcdrunkin What type of Pagan practices do you observe?

  • what the jewish hell is this

  • @MannyKunV they have a hell?

  • @mcdrunkin

using jewish instead of fuck to sound more bigget

  • @MannyKunV It's bigot and to any Christian's I just want to point out don't hate Jews... that's where you come from.

  • @mcdrunkin

r u saying jews come from hell? @_@

  • @MannyKunV ...no Im saying some jew's followed a long hair antiestablishment "wierdo" and did what they felt was holy and became christian's but my original point was I think jew's don't believe in hell. I don't think I do either but Im not a should. Maybe I should convert

  • @mcdrunkin

    lol ur a jew

  • The guy with nothing to do is freakin hillarious! this was one of my favs as a kid though.

  • Snoopy was arrested and court-martialed by the Kaiser's militaey court. Snoopy was executed in Brussels, 1 April, 1916.

  • @BrokenneckYgor could you please tell me why he was arrested? and why was he executed? please reply

  • @BrokenneckYgor Yo fool...He's alive and well and living at The Biltmore in Asheville NC.

  • @BrokenneckYgor - Best comment I've read on YouTube all day! ;-D

  • Hello RG Fans! Thought you might want to know the band has a new tell-all documentary coming out next Saturday, October 8. It's called "Burned By A Beagle - The True Story Of The Royal Guardsmen." They also have a brand new song, "Alive and Well" and there's a video of it here on Youtube. Just do a search for "The Royal Guardsmen 9-11 Recovery Song."

  • It was an Australian infantryman that actually got the Red Baron. The Snoopy story is better.

  • @soxfan801 According to my research no knows for sure. It was probably the Australian, if not him then it was a Brit. The reason no one knows is because he still managed to land his plane before he died. So he was forced down, not shot down.

During his autopsy doctors found a bullet in his heart. This was a pilot who managed to land his plane with a bullet in his FREAKING HEART!

  • @CanadaDan1971, he was forced down, not shot down indeed.

  • cool so this is the cool group band that sings theese cool songs awesome

  • Even in lip-synched videos they give everyone something to do. Or at least they should. The poor guy with no instrument and who only sings back-up, well, he should have a tambourine at least.

  • @JohnnyCxviii Don't forget he got to spout of in german. But you are right.

  • @tweger100 He's goose-stepping too, so that's something.

  • @JohnnyCxviii Yes, something good for once.

  • I must've listened to this song a thousand times when I was a kid. I wore out that 45.

  • Killing the Dreaded Hun is groovy.

  • I played this a million times when I was a kid. Weird hearing it now in context.

  • I too remember having this on a 45 as a kid. 52 now. Weren't there a couple sequels? Maybe a Christmas song??

  • @lynnt1958 yup, theres a christmas one, dont remember the name now.

  • are these guys still around.thks

  • The blonde one lets one go at 01:54

  • came a roar and a thunder man have never heard

  • one of my favorite novelty records.got some of their stuff on 45s lps and cds.my girlfriend B.J. loves it too.she told me she had the old lp record when she was a kid.but years later it was lost.recently i've found the song on a best of cd for her.thanks posting this song

  • brilliant song! doesn't sound dated at all. what happened to these guys?

  • Some of the members have rejoined to make a come back. . .all except Barry Winslow and John. . .one of the members died years ago from brain cancer, I believe it was. . .Barry is an awesome guy and is now in the ministry with his wife, Teena. . .

  • The Guardsmen hit #2 in Billboard, 12-31-66. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great weekend! RIP, Charles Schulz.

  • I've been singing this for 409 years! Thanks for posting it!

  • Great tune from a great era in music but I really hate lip syncing.

  • @sjtom57 The lead singer wasn't lip-syncing. This was a live vocal over pre-recorded music. Almost as common as full lip-syncing during television performances back in the 60's.

  • Oh yes Charles shultz said he okayed it also one best he heard.......But please anyone knows who there names are n what they are doin today....are if still workin in Music are Livin!

  • Lots of the internet violates Official Secrets everywhere. We don't have a freedom of information anywhere. We all depend on other people. Though I do wonder why we go to school.

  • The chap without a guitar is obviously the Bez of this band.I thinking he keeps chanting "Hip Horp Teep Torp"......or something like it.Maybe when his grandkids ask him what he did in the band he can say "Funny dancing, funny faces and Hip Horp Teep Torp".

  • @myepiphone He is shouting "Left Two Three Four" as he marches...

  • @myepiphone In the early verses he's chanting ein, zwei, drei, vier (one, two, three, four in German - as in a marching cadence) and when Snoopy appears he chants one, two three four in English. Also notice his "marching" during the German lyrics is more of a goose-step and during the English is more like regular marching.

  • Bus mark said: der rotte baron was a big gooey! He lie all the time. He run and hide frum all die allies. He see a plane crash und claim ge shoot it down,!

  • This is a fun song. It's also nice to see the performers enjoying themselves.

  • This is a fun song. It;s also nice to see the performers enjoying themselves.

  • This is a fun song. I

  • Bollocks to the Beatles. Lennon-McCuntney could've never had the creative talent to touch the RGs.

  • I'm beginning to woder at the purpose of the whole internet. Latest Breakng news. Saturn's rings are composed of lost airline baggage. Anyone got a better theory.

  • @dtr748 I thought it was composed of all those socks that go missing from the laundry.

  • @IonSpringfield No, those go to Narnia. :)

  • @pmvanwink He looks pretty nice to me!! And he looks like he's having some fun! What of it? Is that the only complaint you can think of? Great song!

  • Not many people know this but they knocked the Beatles from the #1 spot on the billboards back in the 60's. Nice huh :)

  • Hey y,all! I just wrote down this song. It goes--"born in da heat of da dessert, my ma dies given me birth/ deprived of the love of da mother, my dad called me a perp/ ya know I been to prison, fur the bad stuff they says I done/ I ain t never killed nobody, I se just try's to have fun....whTs everybody think? I need a title to

  • love this song ever since i was a kid.

  • I thought this was the name of a video game...? Ah well, the stuff I find on Youtube !

  • I think i remeber this song when I was a kid.

  • I was told as a child that the Red Baron later joined the priesthood and was made Archbishop of Warsaw

  • @BrokenneckYgor he was shot down by australian troops

  • @tranurse oops, i meant canadian. sorry

  • @tranurse You're right. I'm not far from where his parents lived.

  • Damn, I miss Charles Schultz. Snoopy is the greatest dog ever.

  • In German " Attention we will now hear a song about our beloved Red Baron and that pig headed dog "

  • The Royal Guardsmen have made a documentary, and its being premiered in Ocala, Florida (where theyre from) sometime in October, 2011. Theyre going to be there for a meet and greet as well.

  • haven't heard this in years... love it! thanks for posting

  • i havent heard this song in 40 years. Im 53

  • Go onto wikipediia and read about The Red Baron. He shot down 80 englishmen and when he was shot down (by a canadian) he crashed into the British lines and we gave him a heroes funeral with full military honours. . . and they still refuse to let us win penalty shoot outs .

  • the one with no instrument's face looks like chris farly.

  • @BrooksFrankandBoog70 Actualy it is a fictional account of the Red Baron Germany s World War One Flying Ace And he was in fact a REAL Baron. . He was shot down and killed durring the latter days of World War 1 at age 25 or 26.

  • There was a Canadian infantryman who got shot by the Red Baron. He was watching an air battle from his trench and a stray bullet hit him in the foot. He was elated to have his "gift from the Red Devil" as he called it, since the injury sent him to the hospital for a few days, away from the horror of the front.

  • I had this record as a kid. Later, a baseball announcer friend said he had played it on his DJ show before he went into baseball. glad it's here. The real Red Baron, (Check sp) Manfred von Richtoven, wrote a book about his exploits, sadly out of print. The real World War 1 Flying Ace, Eddie Rickenbacker, also wrote a book, "Fighting the Flying Circus," not out of print.

  • Is he playing a right handed guitar left handed? Or is it a left handed guitar?

  • great song

  • number one hit in australia february 1967

  • Red Baron- World's first killing spree

    Snoopy- World's first kill joy.

  • That's a cool song. Must be before or after the Christmas caroling on the front lines. The song I had on an oldies tape at age 4. Good song!

  • That was great..live vocals too...

  • This was my first 45 record I ever bought-1967 (still have it , its in my 57 Wurlitzer 2150 juke box now)

  • the singer looks like jaws from james bond...

  • i like the guy on the left beside the singer

  • 63 Germans disliked this video

  • Love this song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i remmeber being at the skating rink in the 70s and skating to this song

  • I listened this song first time
