Seeing and hearing 80's hip hop again elevated YouTube from fun to spiritual. Keep it coming. And to those that get sick hearing current c"rap" on the radio -- check out the new rappers on YouTube - They're taking it back to where it should be.
there is a truly underrated hip hop classic from the 80's by mc cool john ski and the freeze force crew "BOOGIE DOWN BRONX" I was surprised not to hear it in this mix. It is a true classic and fits so well anywhere in this mix. oooop!! but this mix is CRAZY STUPID DOPE AND FUNKY FRESH!!!!
@CallMeMiLLsz Cool John Ski aka JOHN CARTER,,,, rapping to the song Boogie Down Bronx by artist MAN PARRISH. I chose to not use Electro songs for this mix,, even the fact that BDB was a major hit in NYC and worldwide during this era. I stuck with BPM range of 92 to 102 to flashback the hardcore rap at this time, although I personally like Electro era of Hashim, Newcleus, Egyptian Lover, Juan Atkins, Pretty Tony and Arthur Baker and John Robie, I will incorporate a mix of those tracks soon....
Really captures the cool of that era. Was a real genesis of something completely different. To think about where it has brought us sickens me, what a shame.
Damn I wish I was alive during this time. When rap was raw... In school all I have ever heard about are soulja boy and lil Wayne... We need to bring this back
Wow rappers talking about going to school and gettin good grades. I wonder who is responsable for this new stuff. Pro drug selling, pro black on black murder ect.
Warning the surgeon general of chilltown NEW YORK has determine that the sounds your about to here maybe devastating to your EARS !!!!!!!!! What record did this Quote come from?
Absolutely perfect! I love that you actually mixed and not just cut one song into the next. What's even nice is to here the two songs beats 'lining up' just like it was back-n-the day!
I looking forward to more mixes - Please keep the creativity or "dna" of this great mix to produce more master-pieces like this one!!!! ;)
Simply amazing....Major props going out for this mix......I am an old skool d.j. starting right out of high school in 1983.....this is soooo nice...you hit all the Fresh Jams...I have turned on at least 30 of my homies about this mix.....thank you for "Doing it Right !!!" much respect !!!............D-Nice
And By many more,do you mean, like what? 100? 200? Keep 'Em comin'!! I never get trired of this!! I'm downloadin' these to play at my BBQs this Summer!! These are the best of this type of mix on You Tube and you deserve an award!! I'm Subscribin'
M.A.N.T.R.O.N.I.X... Keep bringing it back man. Did not see no Lady GAGA dancing around shown her crotch back n the day, this music to day has no class... Todays artist need to study this era and get some knowledge and put some clothes back on. PEACE
It dosent get better than this.. This is exactly how they usto do it back in the dayz.. What the hell is going on with hip hop rap this days? is a shame.. Thanks for this upload.. 5 starts..
Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing after listening to it when it was finished, the color, flavor, the ENERGY was there in the tunes that came out in this era,, gave you goosebumps!
@intromix old post but I had to say this. I'm an original B-boy from way back and I'd like to express my gratitude for allowing me to ride in the wayback machine one MO time. Flash backs of 1990's swipes nohand windmills and my head burning after rubbing the hair off THE spot y'all who know ,know thanks man. Peace.
Ha! You know it bro,, DJ Kool C,,, The very last one is Whodini "I'm a Ho" mixed with "Funkbox" ,,,,,, Easy E sampled a bar of this in Easy Duz It (Im sure you already know that)
I'll take a look into it,,, I was skeptical at first because the last time I looked,,, there was only 14 comments on here and no stars or comments,, so I thought this mix was A bomb,,,, not DA BOMB,,,,, but like FunkProvida said,, its just us Old Schoollers that really appreciate this!!

1983-1986 were memorable years.
The Roxy every Saturday all dayers
Fresh Tex in one corner, Atomic Force in the other, Street Machine, Elite Team Plus. The atmosphere was PURE RAW HIP HOP
People had respect in them days.
Great MIX of great years INTRO
The B-Boys & B-Girls + Graffiti Artists of today are definitely still TRUE
We do it for the love & not for the money.
My DJ friends spent a fortune on vinyl & Scratched it all up in the mix for free. Same with MC's. It's all about the money now.
