my grandpa had a 1902 Double Eagle that he sold for 100 bucks a couple years ago. i shouldve taken it when he offered it to me :( i wasnt into coins then. IM SO MAD NOW!!!!!
Dude it's a gold and platinum collection, you can't keep it in a tupperware box unless they have chocolate inside. Maybe a mahogany case or some kind of bomb proof lockbox.
You don't realize the vast difference between a purity of .9999 fine and .99999 fine! The difference is insane! We are talking a difference of 9/100,000 of an ounce. That's almost 100 extra molecules! I bet your glad you paid extra for that.............
its not a pure gold coin. thats why its .9999 they have to add a base metal to make it stronger. because a pure coin would be considered 1.0. in definition
And the government don't no where all the gold coins are do they so you would never have it taken away from you unless you rang them and told them you have a few lol but you would have to be a total idiot to do that anyway. plus you do not buy gold, any one seen a film called the Italian job or something like that its not that well known
you are very lucky to own a marvelous and expensive collection like that...please dont put your greasy finger tips all over them as they willl cause oxidiation spots....which will render your coins worthless
awesome collection man! love the johnson matthey gold bar and maples which are my favorites. I mostly have silver around 120 oz, 2 oz gold, 1 1/10 oz platinum and 2 oz palladium. I suggest a palladium maple to complete your maple set sweet ;)
u shouldn't rly touch your coins with your hands or take them out of your bags and flips cause the littlest scratch scuff or enything else can bring the value down.U should buy some 100% cotton gloves then it would be ok to holdem
i want to buy gold but where can i buy it from without any fraud such as gold plated tungsten of any fakes. I bought a silver coin from a coin dealer from a flea market and i found out it was fake.
i want to buy gold but where can i buy it from without any fraud such as gold plated tungsten of any fakes. I bought a silver coin from a coin dealer from a fleamarket and i found out it was fake.
Nice investment,it looks like a good $15,000-$20,000 investment you have there, you can't lose with those coins, they are easy to sell and are my favorite type to collect, especially the american double eagles..
I'm so jealous at your platinum maples... especially at the price you bought them at. I can't find them anywhere. Only eBay and they are really over-priced at the moment!
If you own the coin yyou are entitled to do whatever you want with it. The Government is not entitled to anything. Do you have different legislation? Proof it !
Its a personnal choise, on my side i dont whant to pay the extra cost for Numismatic, because the day you whant to sell it, it will harder to find the buyer for it.
@Mateoapex34 i personally collect both but I think numismatic will always have a premium above the spot gold price and may have a higher value if the market crashes or drops..Plus you have two things going for you...Especially if they are certified.
@Mateoapex34 As the price of gold & silver rises, the numismatic value is being squeezed out. Today, a $5 or $10 gold coin costs little over the intrinsic value. For best value, quick sale, quality and reliabiilty, get either PCGS or NGC numismatic coins.
i'm suprised u havnt picked up a 2009 Ultra high relief double eagle gold coin.. I also need to load up on some silver i think> ionly have like 12 ounces or something..
No, I will not sell it! I am just interested in buying more.
Gold is a long term investment. Gold price will always go higher with time; its the best protection against inflation. In my case, I am not interested in selling it! If I dont need the money why would I sell it? When you buy gold, up put it away and forget about it. It will always be there if you ever need to sell it and this is valid for any were you are in the world.
God, I wish I could afford gold. I also wish I could finish watching this video, but I'm gonna die if I hear that music for one more second. Your girlfriend better be drop dead gorgeous to make up for her awful taste in music.
Very nice....when you get the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Hockey 1oz Gold coin, you will havea nice set. You should get a 1oz Gold Australian Kangaroo as well, they are nice coins. The tubes of Canadian Silvers are nice as well, they come in 25 per tube.
All money, paper or coin is the property of the government; you can't destroy it, rip it, breaking or melt it. And at any point de currency can be recalled. Its the law.
@MrGoldvest it can be recalled, but do you have to give it in? no they cant, and most places you buy gold.sliver dont ask for id or trace it, and lets say the did a recall if you say you traded it for good the most they can do i write a ticket for it, nothing
Your or any 1 Oz Krugerrand is a bullion coin containing 1 Oz of gold but the coin weighs more than 1 Oz because amalgams are needed to solidify the piece. If you were able to physically compare your Krugerrand to your gold Maple Leaf you would see that your Maple Leaf, being a 24 K gold piece, is rather brittle and as for such purpose gold Maple Leafs are least desired in the coin pendant jewelry world. Bullion coins are the better investment over bars nonetheless. You're a very wise man!
Hey, good comment, but just wanted to point out that gold or any metal for that matter isn't brittle. 'Brittle' is a scientific description/ property given to the elements on the periodic table which are classified as non-metals. Pure gold is soft and malleable. Less pure gold is generally harder and more durable. But why do we like gold? Because it is worth something and will never be worth NOTHING. Keep up the precious metals stockpiling. We will need it soon.
Excellent gold, but have you considered palladium? It performed better than gold silver and platinum last year and is still relatively cheap enough to buy a few ounces at a time
Hey, from my readings gold and silver are the first options to look at. Precious metals should be used as medium to long term investments as it is hard to recoup coin costs (due to premiums) in the short term. Palladium could be added to the portfolio, but there is such a great interest in silver regarding the massive drop in the reserves that prices may reach $1000 an ounce. When you can buy silver coins for $25-$30, this seems really smart and it's affordable for anyone! Even kids.
True, but palladium has the capability to reach $2000/oz like its pmg relatives. I do most of my investing in silver, for it's price but I don't think I could imagine $1000 silver
Imagine it! It will happen within the next decade - definitely. They are using it up so rapidly. That's what I love about Silver - people are using it constantly and haven't bothered to recycle it yet and it is all going into landfill as mobile phones and electronics etc. It's very expensive to recycle it, that's why they just mine it - for the time being. In the meantime, the price is rising. It will plateau when it reached the recycling cost (EXPENSIVE!) Great news for us!
This is my favorite gold collection on youtube, i am thinking about getting alot of that same stuff yo have, like that special 99999 gold maple, pamp 1 ounce, gold maple
but you should consider getting gold philharmonics :)
Yeah I like his collection too. I'm really happy seeing people invest in things of value. Too many people waste their money on things with no value. Gold, Silver and Property. Precious metals because its the REAL money and a house..well you gotta live somewhere! And you may as well own your own house, right?
MMM interesting. I guess if there are buyers of the more expensive versions, then it may still be viable to do so, so long as the premium you may initially is recoverable. Bless mother earth for GOLD and SILVER! Aren't they beautiful metals?
Nice collection of gold, silver, and platinum. I regret not buying any platinum last year. I bought some gold instead. I also have a larger silver stash.
Very nice collection, I like the 99999 gold maple. It's big brother (100 kilo coin) was in the Netherlands for a while, I favorited the youtube vid if you are interested in watching that ;). Get more silver and keep stacking! 5 stars.
