The great (actually, THE BEST) thing about their set other than the skimpy lingerie outfits & ass- wiggling was the music, played by the coolest & greatest funk band  in the world: THE TIME !!,

They were all so in synch with the choreography! Funny though that Brenda seems like the only one that *is* having fun, Vanity and Susan both are taking themselves too seriously. All 3 are irresistible, though, of course. And Vanity's legs? OMG

Fuck I wish I was at this concert but when she did this live I was only 1 years old : (. If there was a time machine I'd go back to that concert, get high, and try and jump on that stage with Vanity! and spin in circles with her LOL. She seemed like a fun ass girl to hang with!

I also read not to long ago that Prince paid The Time little to nothing to play for Vanity. That would be a damn shame if it's true because they played there asses off back there...

Susan and Brenda are still the best of friends and Brenda was supposed to release a solo album not too long ago. Vanity's book "Blame It On Vanity" is also supposed to be out. Not sure about Apollonia.

@hotdrumchick yeah denise is so christian these days that she has completely divorced herslef from the music and movies she did. She said she was possessed by the devil during the 80's and early 90's. I just think that she had been through alot. When artists see teh business side of entertianemtn and how evil it can be, they either accept that and grow from it or they walk away from it.

Vanity is on dialysis 5 times a day due to kidney issues. The skin tends to darken and look older after being on it for a while. It also causes bloat due to fluid build up. She looks way older than she did several years ago but that's due to the dialysis.

2 bad Vanity was replaced in the movie Purple Rain. Vanity would have added more of an edge and depth to the lead female role. She was a strong, dominant, sexualized woman with striking looks & panther like dance moves which made Apollonia seem watered down & clumsy in comparison. There is a copy of the script to Purple Rain featuring Vanity floating around on the net as well as her version of Sex Shooter, plus this video. All 3 are a glimpse of how much better Purple Rain could have been.
