  • Electric engine WIN!!!!!

  • Electric engine is far superior to combustion engine in terms of efficiency.

  • jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aqui nos demuestran que el petroleo no es mejor combustible jajajaja

  • The winner is...the Tesla Roadster

  • Electrical cars are coming! Yiah!

  • sacrée "branlé" en effet !

  • Dear Tesla,

I like your car, but if you want my love, and I mean my money, you have to be part of the dick slinging contest. I mean speed speed speed. Faster horses. Big everything. Go all out

  • @JKING313BOY what the shit are you talking about, did you not watch the video?

  • really?? how often will you go over 125 mph? It's the same way with certain ppl and motorcycles..

  • hmmm do i buy...

the tesla roadster that cost 109000$ does 0-60 in 3.7 and has a top speed of 125mph

    or

the nissan gtr for 98000$ that does 0-60 in 2.8 and has a top speed of 193mph and it makes a good engine noise

    easy choice...

  • @RisiCompetizioni id buy the tesla model S, do 0-60 in 3.7, pay half the money of the nissan gtr, and be happy never paying for gas again. plus why would you want to go 193 mph? lol

  • @jad3948 Because 193mph is faster that 125mph. We're talking about performance cars and 125mph is something that your average hatchback can do these days, sure they won't accelerate as fast. In the handling the department the GT-R has already proved itself as a world beater and holds the record for many tracks and courses around the world. Don't get me wrong the Tesla is fantastic achievement, but it still needs a few key improvements to be a true contender with the big dogs.

  • @jad3948 All great points, i love the GTR and always will but tesla is the future (hopefully) Iv moved on to a hybrid an im hoping my next car is all electric. Tesla would be my first choice :D

  • @RisiCompetizioni The point is its all electric... losing the gas alone makes it an automatic winner. $300 a year to run the tesla....3-5k on gas for the GTR hmmmm easy choice if you're looking to peace out gas stations.

  • what is the price of tesla? )

  • @Snaix93 the roadster is around $125,000 but will be cheaper in probs. next year, their new model s will be about $65,000.

  • @Snaix93 Base price I believe is $109,000.00. But that was a couple years ago it may or may not have gone up or down.Either way it's probably still expensive.

  • @Snaix93 the 2012 model S, will be $49,000 after government rebate

  • @jad3948 That's super affordable... I hope to own a tesla one day, not the roadster however

  • 200k worth of cars and a 20 dollar camera!

  • That was impressive. The Tesla is an acceleration junkie, now all Tesla have to do is conquer the range issue and they might have a viable sports car on their hands...

Whinge away you Luddites, electric power is the future once the niggles have been ironed out. Watch out for the Jaguar CX-75. Although strictly a hybrid it will change the supercar landscape when its launched. Shortly you will be able to own a green supercar that will trounce the opposition. 200+mph, 0-60mph sub 3sec, 99gm/km CO2

  • 46 porsche owners didn't like what they saw and called it unfair.

  • Did the Porsche accelerate? Video is full of lies. Plus the 911 has an AWD system which should have murdered this car off the line.

  • The Roadster does 0-60 in 3.7 seconds while the 911 Turbo does it in 3.3 so there is no way that the tesla won so that leaves one conclusion, the guy in the 911 didn't do 100% on the throttle

  • en meme temps vla le départ foireux qu'elle fait la 911...

  • Most pro petrol car ppl will say the race was not fair... and they are right! A combustion engine cannot compete against electric power. Races like this, the White Zombie and the Wrightspeed X1 show that electric power is simply superior in quick to instant power output / acceleration.Personally I fell in love with electric power after riding the Hulk roller coaster at Universal Studios. The feeling of instant power is amazing.

  • thats pretty beast, tesla seems to be doing well with their electric sports cars. It truly is the future, and this race was indeed fair. They don't call it porche 911 TURBO for nothing, that car is extremely powerful, the engine just radiates power. The electric engine could've not been as powerful and may not have been able to produce so much energy at one time, so the fact that tesla makes this possible is a big plus.

  • @bobbyissupabeast It was not a fair race the porsche didn't get a good start.

  • I don't know why people are hating on Tesla Motors, I think they've done a brilliant job. Electric cars, Zero Emission engines in general are the future ... and it looks like the future kicks ...!

  • @tsegaselassi I love Tesla it just the porsche didn't use launch control and had a crap driver.

  • @tsegaselassi Cause for some reason people are afraid of this electric change for the good. I don't get it either. I hope gas prices keep rising rising and rising so people are forced into more environmentally friendly methods of transportation :D

  • ....il petrolio....

  • Vote down on this vid!

  • @mikennamorato Why?

  • @mikennamorato Why?

  • @Blodslav Because the race was not fair.

  • @mikennamorato The race wasn't meant to be fair, I think the idea behind it is that you can't compare something that has a low energy efficiency and converts most of the fuels energy to heat rather than kinetic energy, to something that is over 80% efficient, and gets instantaneous maximum torque starting from 1rpm

  • 19th century oil burning technology cannot compete with 21st century electric drive. Not even close.

  • @normalais Except when they catch fire....have you seen the Top Gear review of the Tesla? How long does it take to charge a Tesla? How about a cross country road trip in a Tesla. I'd like to see that. How long do you think that would take?

  • @rogerpemberton top gear is all lies. ask any one of the roadster owners how long it takes to charge and then come back to me. and how about fires? not a SINGLE fire caused by any roadster, Ever.

  • @gopedman33 You should really educate yourself. Top Gear put TWO Tesla roadsters through the same paces they put all the cars they get and they both caught on fire. I believe one of them was brake related. Why don' you tell me how long it takes to charge a Tesla roadster?

  • @rogerpemberton well mine takes about 3 1/2- 4 hours, so looks like you should.

  • @rogerpemberton OH yes, top gear, the epitome of honest automotive journalism. LMAO. That entire episode of top gear was scripted before they ever even started driving a Tesla.

  • @normalais Right...and all those Tesla engineers standing around were in on it too? Get a life. Did you know that environmentalists are usually criminals? Didn't know we knew that did you? That's right, hard core criminal types are those most likely to be hard core environmentalists. You garbage are so transparent.

  • @rogerpemberton LMAO they showed a script of that top gear episode. It was written before the episode even aired. It was all scripted. Topgear is all about entertainment, not honest journalism.

  • @normalais Really? I'd like to see that. Why would Tesla send two cars and their engineers to participate in something they knew would reveal that their product is a train wreck waiting to happen? BUSTED...or you can just give us all a link to your fantasy.

  • @rogerpemberton They didn't know. But it was already proven that it was scripted. But if you don't like Tesla that's fine with me. I can't wait for Tesla Model X to come out soon. It will be the best car in the world. Anti progress, anti-alternative energy people like clarkson and yourself will look like dinosaurs.

  • @normalais So are you saying Top Gear sabotaged the cars right under the Tesla engineers' noses? Who do you think brought the cars to the track? When were the Top Gear people alone with them? I not anti anything you said. I'm anti bullshit. When it works then it will work. It doesn't work now. Look at Chevy Volt sales...hell, look at ANY HYBRID SALES recently. Only the Prius sells and it NEVER produces what Toyota claims.

  • @rogerpemberton They didn't sabotage anything, they just pretended it wasn't running. They already admited the car was running fine when they pretended it died and pushed it. Who gives a shit about the boring ass gasoline Prius. Tesla Model S is awesome and Tesla Model X will be even better. Anti-progress people like Clarkson will get a kick in the balls.

  • @normalais model x is a crossover. so it's for the suburban moms. i'll stick with the roadster.

  • @rogerpemberton People are dumb fucks in the united states, just because something good isnt selling doesnt mean its not good. Gas prices go down and people say oh shit yea, wheres my F250 yeehaww. Hybrids and electric cars NEED to be the future and it'll happen with or without you :)

  • @utrvg4 Right.....It will happen when it works. When stupid Americans buy them then will that mean the technology is then "stupid" because Americans buy it? Militant environmentalists are known to have much higher propensities for criminal activity. Did you know that? Of course you did.......;)

  • @rogerpemberton someones been listening to their pastor a littttle bit too much.

  • @normalais Unless you want to go on a long journey without much downtime. Once that is cracked. I'd make a switch.

It will never compete in road racing though, for the simple fact that combustion cars reduce in weight as they consume energy, where as electric will always stay at the same mass. They are always on "full tanks".

  • @JeefCakes electric cars will destroy combustion cars in road racing. Compare Tesla Model S to BMW 5 series- Tesla weighs less dues to no heavy combustion engine, has better weight balance, far lower center of gravity due to batteries in the floor, therefore it handles better. Maximum torque at ALL rpms. There is no contest. And taking a 30 min break to get some food on a long journey while your electric car recharges doesn't sound all that bad.

  • @normalais As much as i agree with you, comparing the roadster to the Lotus Elise would be more accurate, as the Roadster was developed from it (loosely, it's not simply a converted Elise as was reported at the time).

  • @normalais true, but which would you rather listen to while driving?

  • For all you dumb people watching this vid is Fake!

  • @mikennamorato May or may not be fake, my money is on not, due to the mere fact that Roadster is 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds, no gears as it's pure electric. Driving it hard is like getting shot out of a cannon.

  • @eidodk I am one of the biggest ev fans out but roadster sport 0-60 3.7 911 turbo 3.1.So this has to be fake.

  • @mikennamorato Well, thats just wrong, Porsche's own tech specs says 0-60 in 3.7 with manual gear, and well i'd like to see you going 60 without shifting once... It's just not done.

Go to porsche's website, then follow this link: /international/models/911/911-Turbo/featuresandspecs/

  • @eidodk NO! Your wrong porsches own website is Wrong look at all the review, I dont even think the turbo comes with a manuel.

  • @mikennamorato que ? Porsche advertises their own vehicle as worse than it is in reality ? This is as far as i am concerned EOD for me... Troll =)

  • @eidodk I guess so Ive seen before.

  • @mikennamorato Ive seen it before.

  • @eidodk Its 0-60 with a stick shift is 3.5 sec to 60 mph .2 better than the roadster.

  • Dumb video! Porsche didnt try.

  • anyone who believes this is fucking retard

  • É bem NERVOSO o carrinho !!!!! rssss

  • Electrics are the future. The Tesla Roadster is an amazing car, no doubt. But that Porsche didn't even try. Must have revved up to 5K RPM and took more than 1 second to shift. 2nd to 3rd was a joke. The Roadster might still win, but it'd be great if it got a fair shake. Go EVs!

  • This is the future and the future is here, clearly, who still do not get it! It's pity we did not have it since 96 with EV1... I really hope these electric cars products will change mankind's mindset...

  • @oldies72 yes. So it's not the future: it's the present, it's the past... :-)

  • naturally... electric cars are all torque

  • 0 to 60 in 3.7 secs the tesla roadster

  • dude porshe didn't even start :D

  • The 911 Turbo got owned.

  • Imagine that they could produce this in the 20's !!!!!???!!!. Newton and Tesla were competitors. Tesla was backed by Westinghouse initially. J.P Morgan put the whole idea in drawer. :(....Imagine just for the power and the money.

  • For a clean durable future: wind, solar, tidal, hydrogen and free energy

  • what's wrong with the 36 thumbs down people?

  • @focarfa Which car just got beat? Doesnt matter whats powerin it still has to rev up

  • Gotta love the tesla

  • Tesla the Best !!!

  • Comment removed

  • great to see such a hunk of crap like the proche get beat

tesla could be still around in 500 yrs

porche will be only a fail memory

a sign of our greed and willingness to polute this planet

tesla puts uson the right path

  • FUCK THE ELECTRIC FAGS CAR, YOU CAN USE A V6, V10 ETC.. WITH ETHANOL!

  • Its on or off,a flat power curve, electrics will always be faster, the motors of which some of them reach close to 90 percent efficiency are only limited by the batteries technology and cost.Combustion motors, which we all love, sadly most of the power is out the exhaust.

  • @inagod It is only a flat power curve to a certain RPM, then it drops off quite horribly. At the end of the day a combustion powered sports car is going to be faster than a toaster .. so don't get too excited.

  • I'm all about electric cars/motors... but that Porsche was clearly driven poorly!!!

Having said that combustion engines = how many years R&D?

Electric cars = how many years R&D?

  • @Bigbreak2

First car was electric so in theory they have more R&D years :)

  • @Bigbreak2 Electric cars = electric motors .... the first electric motor was invented in the 1830s ... the first gasoline combustion engine in 1860 ... what's your question again?

  • i mold the sand cores for this cars rear cradle and this car is the future

  • the porsche was not using launch control and or it took off horribly the porsche def would have won all that shit u tards talk about electric cars bieng all that and a bag of chips doesnt apply to a full sized car

  • @THErickuss

    you sir,

win the retard of the day award.

    Enjoy.

  • Electric cars are the future... I'm sorry for the actual fueled engine...

  • A hearty laugh and a clap of hands. Was my unconscious reaction when I saw this. I am sold on the Tesla.

  • @01322521959 You're sold on only being able to drive 120 miles .. and then sit around waiting for 8 hours before you can go again? Clearly you don't have much going on in your life.

  • @ksearles85 The Tesla Roadster gets 245 miles per charge and it takes under 4 hours to charge from completely empty to completely full from a 240v outlet.

Where are you getting your statistics? Your ass?

  • @squidvis So you think when you take this car out for a weekend trip, you're going to find an 80amp 240v outlet? Do you have such an incredibly high voltage outlet in your house mate? Try recharging one of these pieces of garbage from a regular 15amp 110v outlet ... you're looking at something like 20 to 30 hours to recharge it.

Statistics? Do you even know what the word means? Because I'm stating facts, not garbage I read in a catalogue. Moron.

  • @ksearles85 240v outlets are "incredibly high voltage"? The voltage that runs to your house is already 240v. In fact the outlet that you plug your dryer and air conditioner into is a 240v 30amp outlet and you can wire (or pay someone to wire) a 240v 50amp outlet in your garage. To be fair though it would be 50amps not 80amps like a charging station so the time would be more like 6-7hours for a full charge. Although that's from completely dry battery to a completely full battery.

  • @ksearles85 Odds are though you wouldn't be draining your battery dry everyday so lets say you have a long commute and drive like 100miles a day. You would still have 145miles worth of charge on your battery so to charge from 145miles to 245miles would take about 3 hours.

  • @squidvis 480 km's with the biggest battery package. costs you about 20.000 more.

  • @JDoubleOP Not the roadster. You're thinking of the model S and you get 300miles with the model S if you get that battery package.

  • @squidvis yeah, you're right, mixed them up....sorry, but whatever marvelous electric performance for this one too isn't it

  • All Inventions today are just a question of money. If people want it, they get it.

When People want electric cars to be affordable and WANT to buy them. There will be the money for scientists to build better batteries. Have a look at computer technology the last 20 years. People needed faster computers, they bought them, they wanted them. We got them. They said "we can't make it faster. Physics dont allow us!" And they did - again and again.

  • Comment removed

  • did the porsche hit second gear ?

  • ive seen a few of them around. So strange to see something accelerate so fast without making a sound

  • electric power beats piston power every time!

  • It's interesting because the Roadster also doesn't have to switch gears and can just keep accelerating faster than the Porsche

  • Hahah Tesla vs BMW M3 Electric car lost....mwahahahaha

We made fastest electric car on the planet, suck it twats :D!

    1088hp electric car (Concept One)

  • @CroatianExTc except it will never be produced....

  • @CroatianExTc Well oh what's that behind him,...a produced car...yr awesome man, just pure awesome, check it a bit more it was presented this year in Frankfurt, just check it

  • @CroatianExTc because it's on frankfurt doesn't mean it's going into production. and I bet that if you say that one prototype car counts as "being produced" i bet there are faster electric prototypes already manufactured.

  • @FreeRiderDZ It's produced...But with price more tha750 000$ you will see them on the road....well, how many Bugatti Veyron's did you see?

  • @CroatianExTc can you tell me the name of the car? saying "We made fastest electric car on the planet" doesn't prove anything to those who read it. If I don't know the name nor the look of the car then I for sure won't see one on the streets.

  • @FreeRiderDZ That's it's name, Rimac - Concept One

  • @CroatianExTc oh i see, didn't get that :) so the 88 production versions will be the fastest electric cars on the street in 2013, unless anyone else announces a secret faster EV project meanwhile. cool

  • @FreeRiderDZ Well electric cars are the future if you ask me, a bit expensive future tbh -_-'

With Concept One battery you can go 600km far from the source, kinda hope the range will improve in the future, not only with that car but all the electric cars. It's time to throw gasoline in the garbage. Really hope you will be able to buy electric car for around 20,000 - 30,000$ in 10-15 years from now. Well we still gotta get pass that 2012 apocalypse, hahaha ;)

  • @CroatianExTc when it comes to the price of electric vehicles, all new technology is expensive till it 's more common. Petrol cars weren't cheap in the beginning either. And speaking of upcoming disasters, remember we did survive Y2K, 9/11, bird flu, swine flu and whatnot? :D I'm more than prepared for 2012 ^^

  • Silent and invincible...

  • Bahahaha okay first off the porsche was not in launch control... 2nd the Porsche driver had it in manual... And 3rd he didn't shift into 2nd, he just let it hang around 9000rpm for 5 seconds..... Worst vid of a drag race ever.... Put me in the Porsche and I'll show you 0-62 in 3 sec

  • @MormonDJordan hahaha shut the fuck up

  • @MormonDJordan Put you in a Porsche and you'll show us how fast an ambulance can arrive on scene. A 911 Turbo might be able to his 62 mph in 3.5 seconds under optimal conditions including warm tires, weather, and a pro driver. My brother has one. David Empringham is his neighbour (and a good friend) and their best recorded time to 62 is 3.6 seconds. Just because you read some BS stats somewhere doesn't make them true in real life.

  • ....And that my friends is "Instant Torque"

  • Tzero still faster but tesla is gorgoeus

  • I drove one, they truly are amazing! Cost wise about $110,000+ might just be for a few a the lucky ones. They have improved the product and quality a lot. I'd buy one.

  • faster than porche, but 10times as expensive to maintain or fix, burnout the armature and your screwed, electronics always cost an arm and a leg, plus you better hope its water tight, or there goes your fancy electric car, just takes 1short

  • i like how the tesla has 0 drama to it .... it just beats the crap out of you without saying a thing.

  • That was freaking BS

  • @MooperSC No it wasn't, electric cars have all their torque from 0 rpm. ICE cars have to rev up several thousand to reach peak torque.

  • Slow as Porsche !!

  • faster but boring

  • If you want the sound and your 16mpg go ahead, I stick with the future. Plus its faster!

  • @monis19

It also stops after 200 km. I don't want to plug my car in a socket 2 times for 8 hours before I get to where I want to be.

  • @nielsboex actually it goes 245 miles. 394 in km. also you can quick charge it in 4 hours or less. not only that, EV's still have more potential, just wait for a battery breakthrough (which is already in progress) seeing as its the only thing holding them back. you can't say the same about the internal combustion....

  • @falco2G

You're right but that's only if you're very careful with the accelerator. And the faster they charge, the faster you'll need to replace the battery. I think electric cars will be a LOT more expensive to repair and maintain. Also, I personally can't enjoy a silent sportscar, that's just the way I feel. If they manage to change all that I might change my mind about electric cars. The way electric cars are at this point in time, can you honestly say you'd want one ?

  • @nielsboex don't floor it and you should be ok. that doens't mean you have to drive like a grandma btw. I do have to say that for long trips, evs just don't cut it. and its probably true that quick charge is more likely to shorten the batteries lifespan. Most likely you'll have to pay $10,000 to replace the batteries in 10 years. However, most likely that's the only thing you will have to pay for since evs require minimal maintenance due to significantly less parts than an ICE.

  • @nielsboex as for the last question. I would only get one from tesla. Seeing how chevy used almost double the money to manufacture the poorly engineered volt, compared to tesla's soon to come model s, I trust GM even less now. As for the leaf, well... it looks funny. lol

aside all that, i agree i will miss the roar from the engine,

  • @nielsboex It is not that quiet at all - just sounds different. Saw one on the highway last week and it sounded like a fighter jet.

  • car without sound is the worst thing there is

  • @stuntsman100 than your stupid

  • I'd rather have the Porsche. At least I can be proud when I hear the engine roaring.

  • @nielsboex wow electric cars are the future, sound isnt everything

  • whatever Porsche 911 turbo brings more pussy

  • the telsa almost did a wheelie

  • who says its fake... knows shit about electric motors.

  • Bla, bla, bla, Porsche this, Porsche that, bad driver, and other excuses, Tesla is the future, get over it.

  • @ToMmaDj Yes indeed.

  • @ToMmaDj In the end, I don't think Tesla themselves can win. They are only showing the way. The biggest victory that Tesla can hope for, is when Porsche themselves start producing electric sportscars in 10 or 20 years. Then Tesla's job will be done, and young kids today will grow up on electric cars knowing that Tesla led the way. If they didn't, no-one else would have.

  • LOL get someone who can shift

  • porsche was going on holiday

  • Mr tesla rules.

fucking advertising....this guys shoulde be arrested.

  • There is a huge difference between the amount of torque that they have during acceleration. The tesla has a lot more immediately as you take off while the porsche has to build as it accelerates.

  • Someone needs to learn how to launch 4WD!! what a retard

  • @MagazineMotorsport try 911 turbo S (with some1 who know how to use launchcontrol) vs tesla roadster sport...

  • @MrCosmin94 dude its just to proove that an electric car can go fast, nothing huge

  • @bentheweirdo I know...I have an electric scooter :P

  • It's clear the Porsche driver had no clue what he was doing. The Tesla Roadster Sport sprints its way to 60 in an impressive 3.7 seconds whereas the turbo has always been stated to run a staggering 3.2. I fail to see what this video proves.

  • @tantrum2006 That electric cars are far easier to drive??? :-P

  • @grungerman haha, maybe if you're a bitch

  • @grungerman okay, if that 911 was properly equipped with PDK and not a 6-speed then that would say something about the Tesla.

  • @tantrum2006 - It proves that electric cars are the future. In a few years from now, all cars will be electric weather you like it or not.

  • tesla roadster is the best electric car

  • fake ! der porsche ist in allen daten schneller !
