  • This music has been forever ingrained into my brain from hundreds of hours of playing... I'll never forget the joy of my first play through. No other RPG will make me feel this way, because of all the great memories

  • Skyrim is more of an epic fantasy rpg we've been dwelling on since the E3, wheras Oblivion was what Bethesda sailed out of the mist and brought me and many others so many memories.

Thankyou Bethesda, for your amazing products.

  • This just made me incredibly nostalgic. I've got chills. It's unreal that a video game soundtrack can make you feel this way. I still remember the sun hanging high in the sky and the green grass of the heartlands stretching out before me as I climbed out of the Imperial Sewers. Before I played Oblivion I've never seen such a vast open world in a video game before. My mouth was agape.

  • @CaptainFagg That vast open world is so awesome to see in a video game. So many things to explore.

  • @calloway2109

True! Oblivion is number one in my list, then Skyrim and then Morrowind(which is great but old)

  • wow.. i just realized that oblivin is a little better than skyrim, just by hearing this .

I had so a great time playing this :)

  • wow a whole 687 likes.

  • Right after talking with Haskill I saw the butterfly disintegration of the small room open up to the bright morning on the Shivering Isles and heard this song at around the 0:10 mark. I still had no idea what sort of adventure I was getting myself into, but it sure did feel like a fresh start.

  • I remember this. God do i miss the times.

The first thing i did was stealing a steel armor and running several laps around anvil

I was just a little kid back then....

  • The moment you step out of the sewers, look over the heartlands and know there is a vast world for you to explore, has surely got to be the greatest gaming moment of my life. I remember when i first got oblvion i spent days just exploring before i even did my first quest, and when i stumbled across the factions I was blown away, especially the Dark Brotherhood. In skyrim, i didn't get the same urge to explore , and i thought the factions were too short and lacking in depth.

  • oblivion 100 times better than skyrim

  • Beating Obvlivion was way harder for me....I remember the end was a real pain. The best thing about Skyrim was being able to summon a dragon....that was a nice touch.

  • I like oblivion the same amount as I like Skyrim, Morrowind and Daggerfall (didn't play Arena), but who are all these people that actively reject the latest game?

    Why?

I remember when oblivion came out there were loads of haters who always said Morrowind is way better and explained how they are unimpressed. Now it's this with IV and V.

  • brings back old memories

  • If they remade Oblivion and tweaked the leveling system (for people that struggled to understand it) and released an HD texture pack than I would buy it in an instant.

  • @TheRainbowGoats

Glad there are people who appreciate that, it's not exactly easy to go out there in the world and see if for yourself, being immerse into the game like that is great.

  • @jjoeshaw Morrowind is the third one, I believe? No, I haven't. Only the 4th one so I can only compare Skyrim to one other related game. And its different because the controls are different, the graphics seemed to have downgraded and the music wasn't as good as Oblivion IV; hence why I'm on this page right now. The beginning wasn't spectacular, either. I like how in the 4th one, you start out in jail and you don't know why, whether it be for a minor reason or a major reason.

  • SKYRIM LACKS THE DEPTH OBLIVION EXCELLED IN!

  • Skyrim was honestly the shittiest game I ever played. I only got like an hour into it. Its SO different from Oblivion IV...

  • @AlwaysRevan How is it so different? Have you played morrowind?

  • This gives me so much tears i cant stand it, damn if they made a remake of oblivion i would buy it the day before it was sold!

  • ah the memories

  • I miss Oblivion i hope next elder scrolls will be more like oblivion :d

  • This fuckin' soundtrack is beautiful :')

  • I feel skyrim has lost that core tes feeling, that feeling that made it socially unacceptable, but also your drug...

  • @Philitron128 I know exactly what you're talking about. Skyrim is a fantastic game but there is something missing from it. Oblivion has that 'something'.

  • @Philitron128 I felt the same way after playing Oblivion after playing Morrowind, and other people felt the same way about Morrowind after playing Daggerfall, it's a never ending cycle.

  • skyrim is a great game, but in will never compare to feeling that oblivion brought and most of that is due to it's amazing soundtrack.

  • Is it just me or does Oblivion's sound track bring so many memories of when you would roam the countryside scared shitless of attackers...

  • Skyrim soundtrack doesn't compare with Oblivion.

This soundtrack brings back so much wonderful memories.

  • I think I'll always prefer Oblivion to Skyrim, Oblivion was really awesome, and in a way it was a gamer's game, you had to have patience and intelligence to get the most out of it, sadly I feel that the elder scrolls to a certain degree has been dumbed down with Skyrim.

  • if anybody asked me if i wanted to choose one last song to hear before i died it would be this. Then i can die happy

  • I ran into a goblin the other day... repulsive creatures...

  • Skyrim has much better Fight music but Oblivion just has better music overall. I love Skyrim but just listening to this reminds me of running through the Shivering isles or stopping in Leyawiin for the night. Though i haven't played it in months due to Skyrim and other games, Oblivion is a game you can't forget.

  • my favorite part is 1:09 when the piano starts playing. This one part I never forgot and is why I am looking in the oblivion music section.

  • Oblivion has the better soundtrack. Hands down.

  • @coldfyre18 way better

  • @coldfyre18 by far

  • @coldfyre18 Damn straight yo

  • Skyrim is fucking amazing, even better than Oblivion. But every time I listen to this it reminds me of my afternoons playing Oblivion, god... That game is incredible. Nostalgia...

  • this music makes the game feel so much more realistic. No other game can give you the same atmospheric feel as though you're standing where the character is, no matter how good the graphics are.

  • Oblivion soundtrack <333 was sooo good, better then Skyrim one, gave the game an unique atmosphere, especially the first time playing it

  • Listening to this song takes me right back to Oblivion.

I am running through vast, dense forests, sometimes stopping to simply look at the wind blowing in the trees. Far away in the horizon lies the Imperial City, rising up as a peak of the last hope of order in a world otherwise slowly turning into chaos by the threat of Oblivion.

The beautiful world of Oblivion, and these beautiful songs by Jeremy Soule made you truly feel like if you were far away, exploring in a distant, magical world.

  • @hlvrn The game was real, not like the 70% of the crap is sold. I remember finding myself looking for books to read in the game, like that one of the vampire. Such a inmersive videogame, really worth it.

  • If Oblivion had as good 3rd-person mode as Skyrim then Oblivion would be better.

  • @VonTavast i had a third person mod that was basically what skyrim third person is now, i recall.

  • @pwnagexe You're talking about the ''Ultimate 3rd Person Camera'' mod? I have it, it is nowhere near as good as Skyrim's inbuilt 3rd person camera.

  • @VonTavast i think it was on par

  • @pwnagexe Hahah no way.

  • The soundtrack to this game was excellent.

  • So WONDERFUL Soundtrack <3

  • Everyone says Morrowind was the best Elder Scrolls game and I am not going to disagree with them. However Oblivion was my first Elder Scrolls game and whether it was the best in the series or not it is extremely dear to my heart. This music holds as many memories for me as "Call of Magic" or "Silt Sunrise" has for the Morrowind guys. Regardless of game mechanics Jeremy Soule makes masterpieces with game soundtracks and the first time you hear them is something special that sticks with you.

  • This song sounds better than how I remember it. Ah, best few hundred hours ever spent.

  • This particular song reminds me of Guild Wars, which also has an awesome soundtrack and scenery/game-play (like TES series). This is peaceful music and listening to it really helps you escape from the troubles of the world.

We love you Jeremy Soule!! :)

  • oblivion rules over skyrim.

  • first 10 seconds always remind me of Star Trek. XD

  • You didn´t heard the Morrowind ost.

I think that this is the best

  • This is now my alarm in the morning. Ahh yeah morning is now bearable :3

  • This is likely one of the best video game tracks of all time. (at least within my lifespan.)

  • The guilds in this game were a lot better, darkbrotherhood being my favourite out of all of them in oblivion, but I'm quite disappointed with them in skyrim, except for the thieves guild, which feels more like an actual guild in Skyrim, this music reminds me of the twisted trees in shivering isles and the waters in cyrodil.

  • This reminds me of roaming the wild for new caves and dungeons. Bethesda...I love you for blessing the gaming community with tes

  • I'm playing Skyrim at the moment but when I finished I am going to play Oblivion because I didn't play it yet and I love Skyrim so much.

  • Skyrim is an amazing game. But for some reason, I can't help feel that Oblivion has a better atmosphere. I also can't help feel that Oblivion has more memorable music.

  • @Blazing234

    nostalgia. i'm the same.

  • @Blazing234 I feel the same way about Oblivion and Skyrim, and with Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Both the former have a better....feel to it. Y know? I love it. Both former are a bit better in my opinion. Just cause of that atmosphere...

  • @iliketoplagtasa

    Yeah it´s my opinion too.

But for me the best atmosphere is in Morrowind, so awesome !

  • they gotta return back to cyrodiil in elder scrolls 6

  • This reminds me of walking around the Waterfront, throwing the Gray Cowl into the lake and getting rid of it once and for all. XD

  • love skyrim

  • This song reminds me of first exiting the sewers and looking upon the world. Good times :)

  • I agree Oblivion is forever untouchable, all Oblivion, king of the RPG's!

  • This song is a lovely one. Especially when it really starts at 0:22--it's the perfect music for just taking a lovely horseback ride through a beautiful forest, enjoying the sunshine and stopping on occasion to pick random plants and turn around and go the other way every time you see an Oblivion Gate. Who wants to bother closing those things when you've got much more interesting things to do and see?

  • Comment removed

  • Problem with skyrim is that it's so subliminal. The music in Oblivion is so much more memorable because of that.

  • Skyrim is greate...but It will never be the same as Oblivion...God I miss Cyrodiil

  • Omg it's so beautiful T_T makes me wanna cry...

  • Eight people are part of the Mythic Dawn.

  • i actually feel a sense of calm and peace when i listen to this.

  • whoever dislikes this must be deaf

  • I haven't played Oblivion in 2 years, hearing this reminds me of the late nights I'd stay up playing Oblivion. It's kinda...refreshing. Skyrim is a fantastic game don't get me wrong, but Oblivion has the better soundtrack.

  • @TRVoyager62 RITE THERE WITH U

  • @TRVoyager62 Morrowind has the best, Oblivion has a great soundtrack, Skyrim has a good soundtrack... They seem to slowly get a little worst......... (Coming from a die-hard Elder Scrolls fan...)

  • @HosAndOREOs You think that Arena's music was better than Daggerfall's, and that Daggerfall's was better than Morrowind's?

  • @Axeldeath0 No, my point was, is that Morrowind has the overall best (My opinion), and they get a worst each Elder Scrolls (Not worst as in it's bad, just not as good in comparison to Morrowind...)

  • @HosAndOREOs

I totally agree with you !

The feeling in Morrowind is incredible !

  • @TRVoyager62 Definetly.

  • @TRVoyager62 Too right mate.

  • @TRVoyager62 I had an identical experience.

  • @TRVoyager62 I'm playing it now for the first time, and it's just amazing. And yes, it's almost impossible to NOT stay up to 6 am every night to play it. I've played Skyrim too but wow, this game... there's something about it. That Skyrim didn't have. Don't know what it is, and I don't think it's something big either, but it's truly an amazing game :D

  • @timewasteland lol im playing it again, even though i have skyrim its just something that you cant miss, oblivion is fantastic.

  • @TRVoyager62 Ew, i hate Oblivions soundtrack

  • @TRVoyager62 the good ol days lol I completely agree Skyrim is a beast, but Oblivion was just too epic, only game that has come close for me was fallout 3

  • @TRVoyager62 I know right? Skyrim may be a better game in terms of content and beauty, but Oblivion will never leave my heart. The many hours spent in Cyrodil and the Shivering Isles. The simplistic style and the immense world full of mystery and adventure. Oblivion, still my favorite game.

  • @TRVoyager62 saame heree Bro! I didnt even know they made a new game. I played the game before oblivion as well. I don't have time I used to have tho lol so I don't want to touch the new game. I'm sure Its even better

  • im putting this song into my skyrim directory...

  • South of Falkreath is an inaccessable path leading to Cyrodil. This music can be heard there, in some variation!

  • oblivion had better music

  • I miss this

  • Sound almost like the Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone game from 2001. Like when you are going to see Hagrid and has to climb and explore some caves on the way to his cabin.

  • I grew up playing this game. I love skyrim but I still have a special attachment to this game. The envirment the music the quests. I'll never forge tthis game.

  • @Bloodgusher07 I know what you mean. It's like, I like Black Ops, it was good, but it will never replace Call Of Duty 3 in my heart. COD 3 was what introduced me to FPS's, and I'll never forget it :')

  • Awesome !! Makes me feel free...

  • FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- I love this game

  • As rainbow goat said , XD, Even if skyrm is super cool it can't bring back the oblivion nostalgia and the spend hours! going to bath every 5 min and eating a full bag of chips in no time in front of the screen,

    Good Old Oblivion, i miss u! :)

  • @SadWorld1000 funny, whn Oblivion came out, people would say the same about Morrowind, haha... Good times, good times... I remember spending hours and hours in front of the TV playing Oblivion... :')

  • @SadWorld1000 Exactly, we could all probably orchastrate oblivion's music as we have heard it so much!

  • @SadWorld1000 It was brilliant to come back to the game after being away for 20minutes and to be rewarded with a sunset in Cheydinhal whilst the camera pans around our character.

  • this is soo wonderful !

  • Skyrim is amazing, but happy memories render oblivion legendary, the amount if hours clocked on oblivion is mammoth.

  • @TheRainbowGoats I agree. I don't think the memories that I get from Skyrim will ever compare to those of Oblivion. I'm not sure why, Oblivion is just...different.

  • @TheRainbowGoats *sigh* yeah.....

  • Think that oblivions ost is much better than skyrims. First it is more epic, second reason i think we vbeen listning this music for an hours)

  • I have mega-nostalgia now! Miss IV and Cyrodiil. Oblivion will always have a place in my heart.

  • @DEKYW I don't know if skyrim's music are this good. i hope so. hahah

  • I have never played with this game. But I do have the soudtracks, and by now, there is no day I don't listen to one of them. Thank you, Jeremy!

  • Where can your download these songs for free?

  • Dear Jeremy Soule, thank you for letting me take part in your way how you experience the world and all those things we can not express in words. Unfortunatelly I'm gifted in drawing, not in composing music. But I see every once and then how both synergize well together.

    You really open my mind.

  • Oblivion has the greatest music i grew up playing oblivion and its my favorite game it always will be forever. I wish I could go back.

  • I asleep when i heared this song. Thank you.

  • the first notes- dah da, da dada dah are like to die for king and country

  • I love Oblivion's music.

  • Thumbs up if you're playing Skyrim right now, which is fantastic :D

  • Thumbs up for those who arent going to get Skyrim on opening night, but then heard this music and were reminded of the greatness of Oblivion and are now considering waiting in line for hours to get it.

  • 0.34 - 0.53 rlz

  • Oblivon have amazing soundtracks!

  • Thumbs up if you can relate to this, you are walking through the woods, listening to this music in oblivion, feeling relaxed, suddenly the danger music starts playing and you run to an open spot in the woods looking around frantically, you draw out your bow and fire wildly int the trees at the unseen monster that is following you,you pull out your sword and then it comes, getting closer and closer and finnaly out of the brush springs...a rat.

  • Even though the game was only released 5 years back, the soundtrack has a very nostalgic feeling.

  • reminds me of riding shadowmere through the forest below the imperial city overlooking a grove between the hills.

  • LIKE MY "SKOOMA ADDICTION" page on Facebook! With the purple bottle ;P

  • Reminds me of my epic clash with those deer at level one.

  • If Skyrim combines Morrowind's exploration and weirdness with Oblivion's creation of atmosphere and gameplay, I will mysteriously dissapear into the night, taking only my copy of Skyrim and enough money to buy a top-end computer with me.

  • This song is so boring after the 10th time

  • when i close my eyes to this...... im at a clearing where i had made camp for the night. its now sunrise, breakfast has been had, the campfire has been put out.my path today, is any direction i choose. north looks good. as i don my pack, a stag walks into the clearings edge, momentarily unaware of my presence. i admire his grace, then he notices me, we lock eyes for a moment, before he turns and bounds of eastwards into the forest.. i smile, and think 'ok, east it is'.. =)

  • Created a new character recently, and was walking down a nice country road, got to a small stone bridge where I looked over Lake Rumare and the Imperial City. At that time, I suddenly felt something. I am really going to miss Cyrodiil. Even though Skyrim looks like a majestic place, Cyrodiil with it's calm forests and beautiful countryside...

During that moment, this track played, and when the part at 2:20 came on, I nearly broke into tears. I guess I am just to in love with this masterpiece :)

  • the good old 2007 gret time, first time playing oblivion ahhhhhh goooood times

  • AHhhh,i glance down the road, look back over my shoulder at bruma, tighten my sword in its sheath and start the walk up the jerail mountains....

  • Nostalgi x3,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

  • this game is so beautiful. I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!

  • argonian: hello.

    nord: hi.

argonian: have you heard about the emperor's murder? quite dreadful.

    nord: so i see.

    argonian: bye.

    nord: bye.

    player: worst. chat. ever.

  • @penguinmaster7 A conspiracy theorist would have conversed better.

  • @penguinmaster7 hahahahahahahahahaha true still a great game i hope they fixed the convesations a bit in skyrim

  • Reminds me of leaving Weynon Priory at 6am, and heading off into the Great Forest; the sun rising over the Imperial City, and ready for anything that awaits me!

  • @TalonMercenary ahh good times =)

  • @TalonMercenary Omg exact same thing I was about to say haha. The music along with the atmosphere of Oblivion was just amazing. I feel that many people including myself feel warm, almost safe, when we hear this music. It brings back that feeling of exploration, of entering an Inn, or simply traveling to your next destination. Those were the moments that truly made Oblivion my favorite game of all time. Hopefully Skyrim can embody that same feeling.

  • @IncubusMe27 From what i have heard, it does!! :D

  • @TalonMercenary And here comes the mighty mudcrab!!!!! haha

  • @TalonMercenary LOL your here to...

  • @DukeOfTennessee117 Ya, im here till thursday!

  • @TalonMercenary LOL yup, friday comes and i am gone with the wind...

  • The start of it reminds me of Star Trek for some reason. Awesome song though, love the music in this game.

  • Ahhhhh... that fresh smell of demons burning the city of Bruma.

  • I could always just play this music if the music in Skyrim isn't as epic

  • Ahh, the best exploring music there is <3

  • <'3

  • Can't wait for skyrim and it's awsome soundtracks!!!

  • Doing Alemeny to this music...peaceful (expect the fact that the potion is often deadly...but let's forget that).

  • I am greatful Bethesda touched my heart with this music, So many memories...

"You Sleep Soundly For A Murderer...", "What can I do, citizen?", "Just Talk...".

For Skyrim, I shall be ready to conquer.

  • 11.11.11: SKYRIM WE'LL COME!

  • The best music from games :)
