  • this test was invalid as soon as the nissan patrol stopped with the brakes

  • Boys, do not argue with Germans over German cars. We know our cars most and BMW and Audi both have full 4WD with different concepts. Therefore, for us in Germany AWD and 4WD the same. The rest is called 2+2.and this concepts are so far below our level, they are not for us to debate.. Maybe as small car solution for grandma.

All or nothing. Thts german. You understand?

  • 325ix e30 would do that

  • 4wd and AWD ARE pretty much the same thing when you get down to it. AWD is simply an automatic, part time 4WD system. There are two types of 4wd systems, part time and full time. Full time systems send power to all 4 wheels, all of the time. Part time systems have to be manually changed between 4wd and 2wd. AWD systems are normally in 2wd drive mode and switch automatically when there is a demand, to 4wd (or AWD if you prefer) mode. AWD is what "4wd Auto" is on GM trucks/SUVs.

  • @enyedigergely No, AWD and 4WD are NOT the same thing. Google is your friend, educate yourself.

  • But the X5 still have the Xdrive system...

  • @enyedigergely Yes, but XDrive is an AWD system, not a 4WD system.

  • Patrol driver just brakes, snow hill didn't stop it, lol. So this vid is just a shit from Audi marketing department.

  • @wolfpackable

I'm not from the Audi marketing. I just prefer real snow tests than BMW carpark test. If you try both car in winter you will know what is the difference betweeen the two cartype. Until it you are just another clever teenager or car seller...

  • @enyedigergely Audi and BMW are both awesome rigs. Choose to your liking.

But Audi beating Nissan Patrol in a climb test? That's kind of ridiculous. Especially knowing that Audi's electronic offroad system << than classic 4WD with low range and rear diff lock.

There are three decent electronic 4WD systems (according to my own experience) - xDrive, SAWC and Quadra-Trac II. Cayenne and Touareg have some promising systems too, but I didn't test them myself, sorry.

  • @wolfpackable

I know the test and what you write is wrong-

The slope was so steep that the engine of the Patrol died off in first gear with reduction gear. The video description is not true. All vehicles had four-wheel drive.

  • @Lightfromsirius Diesel engine at low gears can't die, it will be only a matter of traction on wheels.

  • take a range rover

  • 1. war ja klar das audi gewinnt ein allrad

2.das bmw so weit geko0mmen ist respekt

    3. der neue x5 hetz locker geschaft :=)

  • bmw 300series, comes very slow, raise the foot from the gas, and revoked, snow fly forward! a highly reliable test:DDDD

  • its always good to know your stocks

  • AUDI♥

  • JAJAJAJAJAJA, ¿Audi wins VS PATROL? ¿Who is the driver in the Patrol? ¿a Audi user?

  • its quite simple no car in there is better than the audi all road, and it was compyting against suvs lol bimmers should feel so embarassed

  • Le auto sono state guidate, tutte, dallo stesso pilota? La differenza puo' essere tanta!

  • nube!

  • @enyedigergely You are wrong. 4WD != AWD. This is not the same.

  • lol whats that toyota (lexus) doing there

  • the real question is did they all have the same type of tires because it make a big differences.

  • @42OKing69 that way you can tell which has the better AWD system.

  • @42OKing69 You are right! I've seen rear wheel drive car with proper snow tires outperform AWD cars with all-season tires in the snow. This test only shows what car was fitted with the best tires for climbing a snow covered terrain. Actually, the test that use the rollers on a ramp take away any bias of the tire traction and rely solely on the AWD system. The only way to make this test fair is use the same tire model on every car.

  • try the outback :)

  • Now the X-Drive is Nr 1.....and Audi Quattro Nr2

  • @enyedigergely 4WD and AWD it's a big difference!!!4WD - all time 4 wheels drive!!!AWD - part-time 4 wheels drive!!!

  • @MrPab1o, you search in google!!!now BMW X5 has AWD!!!!

  • Yeah , now the bmw has 6x6 system ahahahahahhaa

  • Say what you want, but quattro is still #1!

  • that X5 doesn't have xDrive system...it's 4WD !!

  • @MrPab1o xdrive is 4WD u fucking idiot
