I don't understand how anyone can watch this and still say negative things such as the ones posted. Travellers are just people, like all other people. Why is such prejudice allowed to continue? I mean seriously. It would be the same as me saying that all Muslims are terrorists. But they aren't! Their are no pure blood Roma, Romanichal, Sinti or any other type of gypsy or Romani people in Europe or anywhere else. Their are even blond haired Roma people in eastern Europe, places where it is less noticable are Spain and Italy where the non Romany peoples are darker in complection. Romanichals are English but culturally and genetically not. The human race has merged and mixed for thousands of years their are no pure stock of anything in most countries.
I can be Romanichal and English as the Sinti in Germany or the Manouch in France can be German or French and Romani as well, mixed or or otherwise. Your Barac Obama can be both black and white but not culturally Kenyan. We have to be Romanipen (Romaniya) to be what we are.

I don't understand how anyone can watch this and still say negative things such as the ones posted. Travellers are just people, like all other people. Why is such prejudice allowed to continue? I mean seriously. It would be the same as me saying that all Muslims are terrorists. But they aren't! They're just regular people and the Travellers are just the same: haunted by almost thousands of years of systematic persecution of nomadic peoples in Europe. It's really sad in this day and age.

@rbsadler Sadly, I think the bulk of their prejudice has to do with economics: Over 70% of travellers are unemployed and most are on welfare, which they regard as more secure than getting a job. Given the lack of advanced education, the jobs that most qualify for are very low wage.

Their are no pure blood Roma, Romanichal, Sinti or any other type of gypsy or Romani people in Europe or anywhere else. Their are even blond haired Roma people in eastern Europe, places where it is less noticable are Spain and Italy where the non Romany peoples are darker in complection. Romanichals are English but culturally and genetically not. The human race has merged and mixed for thousands of years their are no pure stock of anything in most countries.

Hmm a lot of people have opinions on other peoples family sizes, really none of their business.Bringing up 5 kids in a non-abusive relationship and on a safe site is way better for her than in a house. I get what Clare's saying about being isolated and harrassed in houses, likely a scheme, and how she has more of a community around her in a static-caravan site. I wish her well, she has her work cut out for her for now.
