actualy halo: reach is right before halo C/E (halo 1), the pill of autom was fleeing reach and reach was getting glassed... and halo war was before this because harvest was the first planet to get glassed... so ya... and after john destroyed the first halo ring he returns to reach to save dr. halsey and some other spartans that was defending reach...

no, kelly and the rest of johns squad died during halo 2, they went to a planet called onyx and found kurt, and he was trainign a crap load of spartan III's but the project went horribly wrong after the first halo ring got destroyed and while the events of halo 3: ODST and halo 2 occured kelly, kurt and the remaining spatan II's (sept for john) helped dr. halsey on onyx and they wound up inside onyx and kurt dies... so ya...

Fred was one johns team and was onyx at the time, Kelly, Fred and a couple spartan IIIs, Dr. Halsey and maybe one or two more spartan II's might still be alive, Onyx was a shield planet and was designed to activate a barrier protecting the inside of the planet were there was life... onyx was kind of like that planet from Halo wars if youve played it and there is a slim chance they are still alive but we wont know because they are stuck...
