This is probably my favorite guitar solo of all-time. It does everything a solo is supposed to do -- brings the entire song to a whole new level of emotion and intensity.
I agree, this song is, very sadly, often overlooked, and it is an absolutely wonderful gem of a song... I also want to point out that Kaplan's guitar solo toward song-end (sounding like sunshine bursting through window blinds) probably qualifies as one of his best... and most coherent, and while I do love Kaplan's feedback freakouts elsewhere in the YLT catalog, he absolutely nails this solo and sustains its direction all the way through... Freakin' gorgeous
@jmh2277 Well said, an excellent simile for the most cathartic guitar solo I know of by anyone, anywhere. This song sneaks up on you, gets its hooks in you, and hasn't let me go for years.

yep, Ira's best solo.
ranks right up there with Bill Frissell's solo on Robin Holcomb's song "Waltz."

his guitar solo sounds like he"s playing it on fire. and it dissipates like a beautiful memory. so much emotion, I cry.
