The water was quite peaty but the fish were a bit orangey in colour aswell.

They look really unque, and I notice that like the emperor tetras they have no adipose fin. Personally I think they resemble rasboras very much.

why are they called splash tetra

When they spawn, they jump up and lay eggs on overhanging leaves then splash them with water to keep them moist until they hatch and the young wriggle out and drop into the water.
