It's funny that he says in order to get tar sands you have to pollute the waters. The truth is that rivers that flow through the area of the oil sands never have been used for drinking because on hot days the sun heats up the tar in the dirt and causes it to run into the water.
@15Arigold The reason it's called tar sands is that around 90 percent of it is actually comprised of sand, clay and water, while only ten percent is a hydrocarbon liquid called bitumen, which can be extracted and refined into crude oil.
We must go back to our traditional tribal governance and register our nations with the UN and rightfully take our place for our future. No more fiduciaries that just rob us and try to do away with us.
Haha, well then immigrant, all you have to do is get on a boat or plane and go back to your white blonde land so you won't have to worry about the savages or whatever you call them!! :)
I have been posting every petition, rally date, spill rates and info as I find it to my blog. 18 unique petitions so far, some with hundreds of thousands of signatures. we must be the change now. see kim-hunter (dot) blogspot (dot) com
We are now spending 5 gallons of oil to find and extract each new gallon of oil — this kind of math only makes sense to the oil company executives that can afford to live in protected enclaves not affected by their destructive policies.
Oh my god, don't people get it? There are alternatives to oil and pipelines ~ they have only been in our lives for the last century, and humans have lived on this planet for hundreds of thousands of years without needing pipelines!!
I believe that the main point of this video is that Big Corporation is setting out to destroy Mother Earth for profit and here is a group of Humans coming together who do not want to sit back and watch.... Please don't give in to the old divide and conquer routine-- especially posts from folks whose job it is, is to under-mind the Important Message that this video is trying to get across.
@underbird You're missing the point. It's not about what's economical. The regulations for conventional oil drilling that made the process more expensive were put in place to make it safer for workers and the environment, not to open the door for an even more dangerous oil drilling method.
@ybengharsa They were intended for what you said, but they have the unintended consequence of making open pit mining for oil economical in comparison.
When I see the "us and them" comments on this video and the arguments about the "economy" at the cost of progress, your simple word has restored my faith that we can work together for the betterment of both man and earth. I only hope that the self interest of a few doesn't trump the wellbeing of a nation.. of all nations.

Its ironic that environmentalists have made this type of oil production economical by making conventional drilling so difficult.

Oh my god, don't people get it? Global warming must not be used as an excuse to not build this pipeline, because it is a fuckin scam.
Environmentalists are so naive, blind and just stupid, it's unbelievable.
Fact is, we need the tar sands. If there was an alternative to the pipeline, no prob, but there obviously isn't.
