here's a thought -- if you cant find a job -- start your own company! consulting, etc. lots of companies arent hiring cause they are outsouring and using consultants for one time jobs instead of being people on payroll and paying for their social security, payroll tax, etc. etc. i suggest people go the self-employment route and its a lot better and more freedom than working for the "man".

well i had applied feb 1st, they said something might open up in mid march. i kept looking but it turns out that was what worked out. i kept pressin them, since mid march its been nothing but contact be back next week, in a few day, tomorrow, later, but i kept showing up and calling, until they caved and gave me the job. they tell me to call at 1 3 4 pm, tomorrow, etc i called that exact time. (most of the time i just walked in) less likely 2 give u shit 2 your face than over the phone

Northern Cali here... 15 months unemployed and counting. I have an amazing resume including Intel, VP of an international travel company, etc. I must have sent out 300+ resumes and received not a single call back. I finally gave up about 3 months ago before things really hit the fan... now it really feels like there is zero hope. Can't really imagine it getting much better any time soon, either.

The only thing I have left is my ability to play poker profitably enough to barely get by.

1) No it wasn't, the people of early America were almost all European or African slaves. People from Asia (as you said India) were not coming here until the late 19th century.

2) Back then, America needed new immigrants because they had more land than they knew what to do with. Today, the proportion of our population growth that needs to be supplemented by immigrants is so much smaller.
