I think it is almost the same as windows. And I think almost every computer from the last 3 years can handle il2, you only need a good computer for il2 when you have large bomber formations (50+) or large bombings on city's or a burning city.

I have an ATI video cart, RAM 4GB, dual core 2.27 GHz but to make il2 look like this you need to change directX to openGL in hardware options and then you need to change the landscape settings to perfect. I'm also using some effect mods to make the smoke and explosions look better.
no, but you need to patch your game to 4.08, and then you have to install the mod activator, the unified installer is good, because then you have 4.09 and with that you can have really nice maps and objects.

it does run on vista, but you need to install by clicking on a.exe, not on setup or something.

well, I set the zero's to rookie and avarage because their guns are a lot more powerfull. The tommahawks were all avarage and veteran skill.
When I flew the mission with a zero I also made more kills.
