Looks like you worked really hard on the modeling, sweet lens flares & particles, but I wish I could have seen more detail that was hidden in the hard black shadows.
Some fill lights or ambient occlusion could have brought those out a bit.
Seeing this clip is 2 years old, you've probably way surpassed me in skill level!
@khentoumi You're right. Only those years ambient occlusion was way out of my processing capability. I rendered in about 250f pieces wich took 10-20 hours each :). Also those models have no UI texturing at all, that could have added some nice detail pretty easily. Now I'd have the performance but very little time to do these things anymore. Damn... And also I'm struggling to get used to the new UI, Some very hard dying habit with the spacebar for example...
Hey, I'm having trouble running blender without a numpad, and before you say buy one, I did. It turns out my computer isn't compatible with one, any suggestions from the master please? :P
@ReynoldAckerson Anything you can do with the numpad can be done via the menus. I'm running Blender on my laptop right now and I don't have a numpad, so I have to use the menus. You can look them up in the shortcut help.
Very nice video, especially considering this was almost 2 years ago! Great job on all the different camera angles, it was really starting to feel like an actual film!
@TheFXGuy If I had a buzzer, it would be shit loud. "Real" is an adjactive meaning something not false. "Reel", is a demo-reel. a collection of shots in a video. These definitions aren't exactly right, but you get the picture.
@TheFXGuy Ok? If I came off as a jackass, I'm sorry. And another thing, you can't honestly expect me to know it was a joke, since the way it was written portrayed it as a 'I'm pointing out the obvious'. On top of that the "gj, man" made it seem sarcastic. And even if I offended you by saying "shit loud", that doesn't give you the excuse to say "A retard buzzer". So to sum this up, 1, your "joke" wouldn't even make sense on 3 accounts, 2, don't make a rude comeback for no appropriate reason.
Thanks man, for the text Blender has a tool called "text". (Add -> Text) The text can be transformed to a mesh and edited freely, but things like the extruding can be done straight out with the text toolbar also.
WOW love the spaceships that lands in the desert :D im currently trying to make this type of animations in blender too. But its not as good as this though. But how do u make the "engine emitter" things or engine trails. I dont know how to makem. plase tell me
not only is it excellent modelling but i was very impressed by your direction/camera work. It gives us who are starting out a good view of what's possible. Thanks.
great job

WOW Very nice work!!!
how did you make the sandstorm at 2:20 ?
thats very amazing!!!
The3DFreak3D 9 months ago
@The3DFreak3D Thanks. The sandstorm is mist that has a global texture applied to it. That texture's offset is then animated to move.

@BravoBlanc it was a joke, saying that he was amazing. If I had a "You are a Retard" buzzer, it would be deafening right now.

How did you make the plasma engine trails? They are really cool.
Technogux 1 year ago
Thanks, they're particles with halo material. Bouncing off the ground is made by a narrow force field directed upward on the groud level.

@Pgz0 K thx! And as said I relly love thoose ships! =D

They're made using just the Blender built-in renderer, with a composiion node called "glare". You'll find it in the node editor.

You can make those in the node-editor. In There Select Filters - glare and there youll find a selection of various glow filters.
