  • She says you have to do 8 till 12 reps but how many sets??

I want to begin this training to power up my legs for badminton sport!!

You have to do a lot of quick footwork, lunges to the net and jumps(scissors)...

I want to begin as of tomorrow, how many sets??

    Thanks....

  • I have been doing this exercise incorrectly for the last 2 yrs, Thank you for explaining.

  • Owwwwwwww

  • @dragns - nonetheless, it is still a plyometric exercise. The name confusion comes from the use of the lunge position. Also, she's not quite jumping high enough for my liking, nor throwing her arms in the arm the way I was taught to do these.

  • Just saw a video of two supermodels doing 'plyometric lunges', and it was just a step up with a knee lift. Nice to watch, but not what the body needs.

This video has a more attractive woman with more control, more fitness and more intelligence :) Nice.

  • Ermmm... THIS IS A PLYO LUNGE!!!

Any movement that involves loading a muscle and unloading it with explosive force,is plyo my friend.... It does'nt have to be stationary like what you said.. Even clap push ups are plyo dude...

  • @rocky111088 Ermmm...no, it's not. mattsback is right. This is not a plyometric lunge. In fact, I even pulled out my CSCS book to double check, and they don't even list an exercise called a plyometric lunge. The actual name for what she's doing, according to the NSCA is called a "cycled split squat jump."

  • Very good but, this is not a Plyometric Lunge. This is a Split Squat Jump. A Plyo Lunge is a lunge keeping the back foot stationary , say left foot for this example. Lunge forward and explode back, off the ground back to the starting position, standing stationary. Repeat...

  • Wow, thank you so much. Great demonstration and so grateful for your knowledge in this as I want to attend university to be a personal trainer.

  • Great balance, control and posture woman!

  • including this, very good
