There is nothing about this video that is in the name of science. laughing as the mouse is dying is childless and immature. The other mouse should not have been left to witness the death of its cagemate.
@georgetchryn2 "Totally" inhumane, I don't think so. Before doing the cervical dislocation, the mouse induced into a deep sleep via some gas sedative. When you snap the neck, the mouse doesn't feel a thing from the neck down. So it's not inhumane. If you're icky about mice dying in a lab, imagine all the medicines you take, there's probably been about 200 dead mice per medicine as a result of it. Sometimes a lot more.
@MrSpeedyAce Before you start attacking me, you sadist. Read and understand what I said. I said keeping the OTHER MOUSE in the cage was inhumane. Making him sit there and watch his friend die has no scientific or practical purpose.
And, now that you've brought it up, I work in a lab as well, and euthanize many mice, but in no way do I enjoy watching them suffer like this. I overdose them with anesthetics (isoflourane) until they die. Much simplier, and less overall suffering.
@georgetchryn2 Pussy lol No, the mouse doesn't feel a thing regardless if you overdose it with isoflourane to death or give it isoflourane and then do a cervical dislocation. The mouse is tripping balls before he barely realizes what happened. I just thought since you utilized the word "inhumane" that you were some vegan freak out to destroy research labs for using mice or something.

I agree with georgetchryn2,
You should have separated the other mouse from the one that was going to be culled.

@MrSpeedyAce There is no cervical dislocation or isoflourane in this video. It is ethanol with HCL,
