I may be wrong but I think this is the guy playing bass with Steve Coleman a few years back (2002/3?) that I saw in the Jazz Cafe in London. He played a solo, the crowd totally following what he was doing, and at the absolute peak when, in my limited experience as a player, you feel "Where do I go with this?" he broke a string, perfect timing, synchronicity at it's sweetest and most ironic :-)

There is a show I like where he plays bass for Steve Coleman in Nancy Jazz Pulsations in France, the video is available on steve coleman website on the ftp, and maybe on emule.

nice performance I like that, though I prefer when there is more space and silences between the notes, but that's just my tastes probably :p
