I have made a very rough translation of what he says on this recording and others, these can be found on my website. Try googling 'Guru Dev recordings'.
jai doesnt necessarily mean that to live long. it can also mean that victory to..many people say jai to people that have passed..to make sure that their soul lives forever
I too am indebted to you for making this available. It is with joy that I hear his words, the meaning of which is unnecessary. It is the vibrational quality. JAI GURU DEV
Beautiful...love his voice...such a traditional accent and expressing with such simplicity. Thanks for uploading...please upload more speeches if you have any.
As mentioned before here, the voice on this video is that of Guru Dev, I have put a rough translation on his webpages - Google search for "Guru Dev Recordings".
Someone's comment unintentionally got deleted this morning - do feel free to post it again. It was from someone saying something like:-'thanks for sharing - Jai Guru Dev'

Hi, people am sure theres a lot of Hindus on this page i was jus wonderin if ne1 could post sum more videos wid tha background history of Hinduism and especially more info on Jai Guru Dev
Guru Dev warns against lack of conscientiousness which he cites can be brought about by the effect of certain food. He quotes Chandogya Upanishad [7.2.2] "ahaarashuddhau sattvashudhiH" - "From correct food, correct activity", going on to say that after understanding that paramaatmaa (the Supreme) is paraavara (all-inclusive - everything), the knots of the heart become separated and one penetrates all uncertainty.
Guru Dev film and audio from circa 1950-51, North India. Judging from what Guru Dev is saying on the audio recording he was not very far from the birthplace of Sita (i.e. Mithila), so possibly the ancient city of Patna, or maybe Lucknow (where the filmstock and wire-recordings were found), or perhaps even Varanasi (where Guru Dev had his main ashram).
The soundtrack of this film is a 'wire-recording' of Guru Dev giving a lecture. Other recordings of Guru Dev speaking and singing are posted as mp3s on his webpages, try a search engine and type: Guru Dev Recordings

Just to clarify -- the original footage is silent -- I don't know who that is on the soundtrack. There is no sound film of Guru Dev as far as I know.
