@PublicHD Yes. Using a VGA to HDMI converter will give a sharper picture, but if you're only using it for karaoke graphics it won't make a huge difference.
@DNSF1 Hi - not directly, no. SCART only carries analogue signals, HDMI is a digital signal. You will need a HDMI to analogue converter. There are quite a few models, just google for them.
My laptop only has a VGA port (no HDMI) and my TV has a HDMI port, a Scart port, and the coloured scart ports (no VGA). Im trying to watch my laptop screen on my TV (Im not worried about the sound, thats sorted). I bought I VGA to HDMI cable but it didnt work, appartently I need a digital converter. Could you give me some advice on how to solve my problem. I dont mind connecting through HDMI or scart on my TV, I just want the cheapest method.
@samringrose Hi ... cheapest method is to use the converter in the video but you'll only get SVHS or Composite video - quite low quality compared to VGA or HDMI. If you want quality then you will need a VGA to HDMI converter. Or buy a TV with VGA input, or buy a laptop with HDMI output.
i have a big tv and and a computer from 1998 and i want to play my games on my tv would this work and if not what others would you recommend? plz help
@morenaso1 You didn't buy it from me ... must be a faulty one buddy, we've shipped over 1,000 of them in 5 years and only had three faulty units in that time. Get it exchanged from wherever you bought it.
It will work with any computer using VGA output as no drivers or software are involved. It's just a hardware converter so yes, it will work with a Macbook if it's got VGA out.
@valewaytechnology Do you have any tearing or choppyness issues with this? tried my version 2(not 3 as you have) on 4 different tvs and its fine for browsing but watch a video or play a game and it jumps instead of being smooth

what if i cut vga cable and connect to old Composite Video and Stereo Audio by hands saving money.
dhruvilshah30 1 year ago
@dhruvilshah30 Yeah, good luck with that. At the very least you'll ruin your VGA cable. At worst you'll enjoy the wonderful smell of burning.
If it was that easy why would this converter need to exist?

hi there, my tv has the old fashion red, white, yellow ports. will this converter allow me to use my tv as a monitor?
RidenbaughVIDEOS 1 year ago
Yes, but a TV using composite video (yellow port) will have a VERY low resolution, you'll strain to make out details. OK for viewing videos though.
