hi i have epilepsy my self and im making a video about epilepsy and i thought to ask you if a can use that clip in my video, ofcourse i must ask you first :)
Well it would be nessasary to do so if they were in a dangerous while having one to move stuff (or if the "stuff" isn't movable the person having the seziure or try to block them from it) so it must be done sometimes..
@candkatie11 That's true but he fell on the stairs. All they had to do was lift him and move him onto the floor behind them, not pick him up and try to walk him somewhere.
@KaleeCali Roll them on their side & protect their head from banging on the floor or furniture. NEVER put your fingers in their mouth or try to hold arms & legs still. Usually passes in 1-2 minutes w/ a dazed look & inability to speak for 30-60 min. Let them rest for awhile. Info from my son's pediatric neorologist.
You have to make sure he doesnt hurt him self most seizures the person isn't breathing there really not much you can do until they are done . Some last for a few seconds to many minutes .there is also many types of seizures.
I dont understand why yew guys picked him up when somebody is havein a seziure yew dont take any action towards then except for watching them until they come out and stay calm if it happens for more then 5 minutes call the plice and after they are done haveing a seziure let them dayy down for a little bit on the floor just in case they dont have another one... if this is fake then oh well i just gave yew a lesson on convulsion 101... i have epilepsy i know what to do xD
@UNKNOWNKITTY76 leaving him till its over is smart sure but what about stepping in to prevent them hitting their head? ive seen ppl have seizures that left them smacking their head against the ground
@rhino2960 If you can you move away any objects with sharp edges, etc. including from their hands (if you have enough warning) and try to give them a safe landing area. Pillows, jackets, towels, etc. can be helpful too as temporary cushions. Many know when a seizure is coming, too. What is critical is to never try to control their convulsions, and then when they're relatively relaxed try to move them on their side to allow any spit/blood to drain safely and prevent choking.
@stocker05 During the early phases of a tonic clonic seizure (grand mal, in the old terminology) people can actually turn pale blue/gray from mild asphyxia--when everything tenses this includes breathing, too. When the convulsions begin some color should start to restore. Check for breathing and heart beat once convulsions end. Also, the "five minutes" usually means the entire seizure phase--the convulsions should only last a couple minutes usually before calling 911. Keep track of the time!
@UNKNOWNKITTY76 If you look, he tried to stand up. Sometimes, epileptics have simple partials, which allows for reflexive things like trying to stand up, or go do something. To the uneducated eye it looks like a simple passing out.

@UNKNOWNKITTY76 I thought that you had to make sure that the person in seizure is breathing, not hurting himself, etc. Am I wrong to think so?
