@SirSmokeify HA. TDTE is FAR from real grind. I love these guys, dont get me wrong, but they arent grindcore. Boltcutter, Parasite Hilton, Cock and Ball Tourture, those are REAL grind bands. These guys are mathcore, maybe even just technical metal, but not grind. and the Number 12 is a terrible excuse for music of any kind in all cases. Not every mathcore band is going to sound like poison the well. Converge is mathcore and they sound nothing like Poison the well.

The breakdown is over used, yes. It doesn't mean it's a lack of musicianship or talentless in any way though. Good music isn't only based around how well written a guitar riff is. A band like Meshuggah is very talented and well respected by musicians even outside of metal, and their song "Bleed" is an open chord based around extremely complex time signatures. I know for a fact the average guitarist cannot pick up a guitar and play that song. Rhythms are just as essential to writing good music.
