  • HELP!! What does warping do?

  • why do I need to see your face while I watch a tutorial ? lol

  • wtf is an acapella??

  • @tchekitout LOL

  • @tchekitout It's the vocals of a song without music.

  • just get acapellas on youtube...

  • what kinda mic do you use?

  • accapellas , net

    I got your back bro

  • the intro was my favourite

  • Why not just drag the original track in to Live & use the same tempo on your a cappella track?

  • @jiggajesse that doesnt work either, ive tried

  • why is 1080P loading faster than 360p??

  • and i been peeing around with fl

  • you could use a bpm analying software to know the songs exact tempo

  • ableton warp alawys fucks everything up -.-

  • @Zkrudriverz

you know you can turn it off in the preferences right?

  • @iamdopeasfcuk yeah, but then it won't follow the tempo :X

  • @Zkrudriverz

exactly. That's why you do it, so you can warp it yourself. Ableton's auto warp isn't gonna be precise anyways. I highly recommend warping yourself if you want to remix.

  • @iamdopeasfcuk but it takes so loong D:!! well guess i gotta stop bein so laaazy

  • this is very beginner... just sayin, was hoping for more advanced techniques. good video for beginners

  • Thank god this is for mac

  • if you find the exact tempo you only have to line up one warp marker at the start right?

  • You are fairly pretty, thanks for your movie. it's unfortunate im living in Martha Lake because i can't end up getting great makeup, nevertheless i get hold of zero cost trials from "Gratis Makeup Samples". i love MAC makeup!

  • YOU ROCK, Im goin to subscribe as soon as the video is done . Thumbs up if your going to do the same!

  • Realy good vid you'v done, helpt me a bit on the way but i still cant understand what your doing betwen those 10 min, and it sems like I have another version of Live( I'v got Lite 8) becouse I dont seem to find that thing you pull in the Overwiev. Exactly what have you done?

  • y dont u just lopp up 4 bars of the instrumental, warp it and get the tempo?

  • I think u should download a DJ program for finding the BPM, like VirtualDJ then u just drag ur song in there and the program shows u the bpm. U should put the one with the beat tho:P if u only do the accapelle im not sure if it works or not. but i recommend it:) nice vid:):)

  • wow whats that program called?

  • Just wanna say thank you for this demo. It's gonna help me out a whole lot.

  • bboyspaz, what program did you use to capture screen and cam at the same time?

  • do you think it would be more easy if you analyze the bpm of the original track, and than just drag the original track to a new audio track with the original bpm, and i think you can see from the wave of the track where the acapella start.maybe im wrong but that is i would do.

  • awesome vid man. made alot of sense and got a good link out of it. where do you find your samples from though? like the 1940's type song you threw in under and then said that sucks.

  • nice tutorial. You can also use Acid Pro to line up the acappellas too. I don't know which one is easier but it does the same thing basically.

  • can i do this vice versa. . .like i have the beat and everything . . so i just want to import the acapella to the beat. . .

  • This song is wak!

  • 30 accapellas in 30 days*** and the website does a horrrrrible job of keeping track... ive download probably tenin the last week.... and when i go to download more it says "you still have 30 downloads remaining this month" ha yaya for free accapellas

  • Hey broski. Cool tutorial. Should look into some acoustic foam I can hear echo in right ear. To the left of you in your room there must be a wall or corridor, but you can hear it.

  • nice ;)

  • man u definitley looked out in this vid iv learned so much from watching your vids thanks and stay blessed...

  • Hey BBoy, I was wondering how you do to put the "one" where you want to start on the song to warp it easily after. You do it at 6:02.

Anyway thanx for all those tutorials

  • mixmeister has a free bpm counter for all mp3's it is really helpful and fast! great tutorial!!!! make some more hot sampled beat tutorials man!!! lol

  • Analyse the tempo with some software to get an accurate account of the BPM. Easier than tapping it in, not to say it can't be done.

  • AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING!

  • Good tutorial, brotha. Got me started real good.

  • One of the best styles in tutorials on the net mate. Clear, concise and most importantly easy to follow. keep up the good work man

  • Hey i am pretty new to Ableton, is there any way to just change the tempo of one of the tracks?

  • Master, go to Mixer > Track Tempo

  • Nice one mate. like your stylee.

  • thanks!

  • I followed your directions and it worked pretty good. (see my video response) Have you worked with the "warp from here" command, that also seems to help getting things lined up. I also brought in the orginal video via a .mov (ableton only supports .mov in Live 7), that was harder to get in sync - I think you can set it as a master to make it easier, but that seems like it would mess up the audio - anyways, your help is appreciated and thanks for the acapella4u hook up. - Peace B

  • Thanks for the vid. That gets me in the right direction for acappela in a remix !

  • to make an acapella yourself....

you need the instrumental and the original, put them on two different tracks, then nudge the instrumental (or the acappella over till the tracks are out of faze. magically all that will be left is the acappella because the track will cancel itself out

  • We Major

  • acapellaarchives on blogspot also has random acapellas (lots of underground rap). not sure if you've been there yet. the youtube user instrumentalsandmore also has a lot of random instrumentals and acapellas for download. hope this helps!

  • hey spaz, after some trial and error i use a little bit of your method with how i normally do it. i start with the metronome to get a a rough adjustment of the acapella then i tweak even more against the actual instrumental im using. got something i made recently as a video response. glad to see you're posting new vids again!

  • Of all the mashup or remix on abbleton tutorial videos I've seen, this one is definitely the most helpful and well made.

  • I just started laughing when he played the accapella. That is music?

  • do the same in sound forge and cubase

  • also, once you open that new file in Recycle, if you get a BPM like 96.028, then 99 times out of 100, the original tempo is going to be 96.000. Producers (usually) dont work in outside of the first tenth in BPM's - we like clean looking numbers. occasionally you will get a track that is like 110.5, or 98.4 but not often. peace.

  • what's wrong with just tapping in? seems simpler to me.

  • it'll work if the beat was computer made. but the rhythm you tap out in the beginning might be off a little later.

  • hey yo b you know you can determine the original song's tempo to the exact very simply. it is a lot easier than using the tap tempo and then tweaking the whole acapella.

open up the original song in a wav editor

grab a 4 bar loop, starting on the one, copy and paste to a new file - save.

open that new file in Recycle, change the bar count to 4: boo ya: Recycle will tell you the BPM

I've been doing it that way for ever. enjoy.

  • ah - never actually thought about doing it that way. gonna try it out. thanks!

  • Nice man! Thanks for the info. Peace.

  • nice 1 bro.. i like the way you simplify ableton.. my only gripe *im from the UK lol*.. is , when your editing.. you rush through the procedure.. it would be helpful.. if you zoomed in more.. so us simpletons can see in realtime all the controls your using.. peace

  • don't worry man. I'll be showing some awesome stuff for you.

  • @bboyspaz also show it for me plz :)

  • @bboyspaz how you edit or do video remixes

  • The simple way to get accapellas out of the originals is to find the instrumental, layer it with the original and invert the instrumental. The reverse waves cancel out the instruments in the original.

  • can any technique on ableton be just as easy to do in acid/fruityloops? concerning samples?

  • Thanks for the tutorial. I have the keys of all my songs from DJing, but how do you see if the key changes when you play around with the tracks? How do you make the keys match up? Thanks

  • Alot of it will just have to be buy ear. But I'll post a video about keys and changing them and things of that sort.

  • Anyone know what program he is using to record this video? Do they make it for the PC? Big ups either way!

  • no idea dude. sorryz

  • Dude ,Ima have to say this.

Thank you. Your great love the videos.

  • no prob dude. glad you like it

  • remix / mash up, pretty much tomato / tomoto

but still clean vid, smooth run down - subscribin

  • lol. A remix is totally different then a mashup

  • Yep, remix is where you're making your own music on top of an acapella. mashup is where you're taking 2 songs, usually one instrumental and then one acapella and MASHING thing together.

  • thankz man.

  • velly good.....how laid back r u! another part of the puzzle falls into place.thank you......sometimes i think ableton could do with a second sample editor to be displayed?

what mac video screen grabber r u using?

  • Using ScreenFlow. It's one of the BEST programs for screen capture on mac. It's REALLY awesome!

  • yeah been all over youtube and havent found anyone that can explain the way u did thanx..

  • thanks!

  • Please tell me how must be warped a track with different tempo; Let's say, it's started with 116, and then change to 130 bpm...and after that, how ableton will play it if it has to sync with the master tempo?

    10x

  • Pretty straight foward video. Good lookin on helping us new comers with ableton out.

  • Well done!
