  • this song always puts me in a good mood!! :DD

    mj's voice is amazing!!! :DD

    wuv u mikey :D

  • Classic song. MJ was Jack

  • @Primitive26

You said (well, wrote actually lol) EXACTLY what I was thinking, man.

  • When I was little I used to listen to this song and cry, I dont know why. Michael I miss you and hope to see you in heaven some day.

  • une des meilleures musiques de MJ. I LOVE JACK. I GIVE HIM LOVE. I HOPE HE KNOWS.

  • Nobody today is even in this league. It's not that they don't have the potential; but they don't have the mindset. No Black male performer is in this head space. Hip Hop has shackled their brains.

  • @Brilliantbeing plus nobody can sing like mike. he had a strong unique voice.

  • @Brilliantbeing even tho i agree with you, hip hop is probably still the better, more harder edge, and creative styles around. Its the other forms of music that have sold out to the devil, and do whatever they are told, killing every ounce of creativity from music. Music is dead at the moment.

  • The song is when they became The Jacksons; this is a picture of the Jackson 5. Jackie is the one in the pink pants. This song's a monster!

  • man, this song is catchy :P i love it! thank you, mj!

  • I loove this songg :) x

  • I LOVE THOSE CHORAL HARMONIES. The stupid thing about it with R&B and Soul and there Mother being Gopsel with the call and answer response. WHITE people could tolerate that. They even took Black Gospel to the Southern and Appalacian white church goers. They just wouldn't let the inventors of the GOD FEARING PEOPLES progress as a nation or let them eat with them. Segregation was just WRONG. One thing The JACKSONS did was to make it ok for white teenagers to have black idols.

  • This is seriously my favorite Michael song. I remember two years ago listening to this at a party where I was alone and the music just carried me away. something about this song just gets to me. Is it that piano bit in the beginning? Michael's dulcet voice? The lyrics make me want to cry. Poor Jack! I want him to have the girl! It is so cool he co-wrote this.... Thanks for posting!

  • MJ is your FLESH & BLOOD brother !!!

    .

Don`t spread cruel and untrue comments to ruin MJ.

  • Cannot believe it is nearly a whole year since the good man departed from this earth. Hope you're resting well Michael, we miss you badly man, we really really do

  • ok in case you didn't know the Destiny Album was on Epic records and so you have Marlon, Randy, Tito, Michael and Jackie in the pink at the back lol

  • my aunt gave me this album when i was a kid and i still have it along with the Thriller and Bad albums. i have them now all on cd's but i love this album and i love this song. it's on my mp3 now. i miss him so much.

  • I agree with Dewski 1316's comment and to same difference, can u post more info on that magazine info with the interview with PHARRELL WILLIAMS and M.J. please, thank u.Respect to u both.

  • have they ever perfomed this song live?

  • This is my jaaaaaam from the Destiny album when I was in Junior High School in the Boogie Down Bronx! We played this album until the record player needle actually broke! I was in loooove with MJ and had his pictures from my Right On magazines ALL over my walls in my bedroom. This song STILL sounds just as good today. I'll always love and miss you Mike!

  • @aimeedus love love love i sent you for this song! you are great

  • whooaaa dis 1 ov ma favrit songz!!

  • i never heard this?

  • he co-wrote this

  • Comment removed

  • When those,s piano chord,s came on,Hooked then and still hooked now.Go on ahead Jackson,s you all still have my vote!

  • It's not about Jermaine, or any of the other brothers, it's about Michael. He wrote in his book saying that this song was to show he didn't live, "in an ivory tower," and he had, "insecurites just like other older teenagers." he didn't write it about his "negetive" feelings toward Jermaine. Unlike jermaines "word to the badd." which is to Michael.

  • TRUE!!!

  • your preaching to the fools who claim to be fans and then sidewind into their own nonsense.

  • Hahahahaha.

  • you know how some Michael fans are, they recreate their own history and makeup some wild stories. I have a jacksons friend who think every song is a conspiracy about each other, every michael song has a message to his brothers.....wth??

  • I know exactly what you mean!

God. That's what really bothers me. Then I tryy my very best to stay out of it and let them believe what they want but sometimes it gets so ridiculous I have to, you know?

  • @1980Triumph exactly..im wit u on this cuz im one of the fans u talkin bout lol

  • big balls n da pink bell bottoms

  • @tiasiadeon lol

  • whose in the pink trousers at the back???wow hes hot!!!!!

  • thats jackie.....

  • @aimeedus yep, jackie lol

  • @mejulie1965 thats jackie

  • @mejulie1965 jackie i think. and i agree :P ha lol

  • @mejulie1965 that's jackie jackson

  • @mejulie1965 that's Jackie

  • " THE " MUSIC "!!!!

  • This song is about Jermaine!

  • Back in the day I remember whenever this song was about to end on Side A, I'd run and put it right back to the beginning of this song....on itunes, it's in my top 25 at 1500 plays...On the line is number 1 at 6, 000 or something...his voice and the just the musicality...damn!! To think he was what 20 when he and Randy wrote this...then 22 when he wrote another favorite...."heartbreak hotel.." Oh....he was bad! Really Bad!!! Miss you Mike!!

  • Linda cancion la compuso Michael y Randy Jackson

  • this is one of my favorites... He cries because there is a lack of love.... these lyrics touch my heart.... the thing is... the poet is often one of the greatest truth tellers.... the thing is ...who has an ear to hear?.......he cry's about you and me ...... Michael did more than cry about it... he put truth into action in all his humanitarian efforts... that is an inspirational thing....

  • It is rather easy to relate to Michael, but yet so hard to understand his situation. You can almost feel the pain and insecurities through this song.

I guess deep down, all he wanted was to be loved and appreciated, just like any of us. I hope Michael knew how loved he was and still is by his family, friends and fans.

R.I.P. my dear. I love you and miss you that it hurts.

  • Guess he sings about himself.. :( 'Jack still cries day and night, Jack's not happy with his life'.

  • PHARRELL WILLIAMS (June 2003 Interview Magazine): I just want to let you know youre amazing, man. What you do to music, what youve done to music, from Billie Jean to Thats What You Get (For Being Polite)—[sings]Thats what you get for being polite.

JACKSON: Oh, you know that one? [laughs]

WILLIAMS: [sings] Jack still sits all alone.

JACKSON: Boy, you know all those ones . . . [hums a guitar riff]

  • @samedifference I love this SONG :)!! soo good and the album is great as well!! Ive read that interview but I would love to hear it haha xD ! peace <3

  • @samedifference I love them both <3

  • @samedifference Even though he didn't, I can totally picture Pharrell playing the piano at the beginning of this song.

  • @samedifference WHERE CAN I GET THAT INTERVIEW ?

  • @samedifference I love that interview :)

  • Love this song!!! From the great Destiny lp.

  • Another great Jackson song.

  • aw, I love this song! i really like their destiny album.

  • thank you for the happy feeling you gave through your music. RIP Sweetie.

  • Thank you..for the beautiful music

  • muy buen album Destiny¡¡¡

  • One of my favorite songs ever.

  • OMG! I love this song and i been looking 4 it...thanx for posting this song! O I love the Jacksons but im n LOVE with Michael! R.I.P Baby Boy we love you and you will remain in my heart always!!!!

  • I like the old pop. Now every song is about i wanna fuck you on the dancefloor or i have the most money or im hardass gangster or something stupid. I also think that autotune should be outlawed so that singers are forced to work on their craft. No one can sing anymore... NO ONE.

  • lol that's because u listen to gangsta rap that's what gangsta rap is all about that why I stay the hell away from it lol.........

  • i agree...i gave up listening to the radio a few years back...thisis one of my favorite jackson tracks on all time..a great jam...i especially love the end of this song...i think of michael jackson sad and depressed and misunderstood by most of the world...

rest in peace, michael. you were too good for the world. your mother's loving heart and god's gentle arms own you forever...

  • @Drewski1316 glad u put it out there..no wonder there's 44 comments

  • @Drewski1316 Totally agree. Its soo sad. Music is garbage now a day's. Everyone is over manufactured and commercialized. Music is dead (popular).

  • @Drewski1316

    Right on!!!

I'm only 14 and I agree. It makes me sick to my stomach to know what my generation has to go through. Today every songs is about taking things to the bedroom and having sex with people they really don't even know, selling drugs "getting wasted" or the most recent work of stupidity: Friday. That's why I choose the better option. I don't know what I'd do with out these guys!!!(mostly Michael). All of today's artist are unoriginal and incompetent!!

  • @Drewski1316 PREACH!!!!!!

  • lovely song!!!!

  • This is a great song.

  • my favorite song from this album "DESTINY" Michael and his 3 brothers ! I will be honored to see them in a concert together !!!! Thank you Michael and brothers Family ! I will forever your supporter even in Heaven Michael you're so beautiful in this album ! Respect to Jackson family and ret in peace Micheal see you later in a different planet !

  • It's sounds like he's singing about himself but also to himself. He seems kinds of frustrated. I don't really understand who 'Jack' is supposed to be...

This is a really good song regardless.

    Thanks for posting,

    x

  • He is singing about Jermaine who decided not to follow the band and stayed at Motown.Michael felt a great deal of betrayal he was closes to Jermaine.

  • Yeah, they would never play this on TV so that people could have empathy for Michael Jackson because he was a human being. They call him that name that starts with J and ends with O because it was to dehumanize him.

  • lol you really are a loser with no life to seacrh fo as many mj vids as you an to bash you such an idiot its funny get a fuckin life move out of moms basement

  • first of all no 1 is worshipping him he was human..your attempts to convince ppl he was a bad person on a FAN video however r moot y waste your time?its like convincing an asronaut the moon landing was fake..

  • ok how bout you stick w/ one issue that u feel you personally have with him talk about worshipping

  • I remember back in 1979 at lunch we were allowed to play records during lunchtime, and that was the first time that I heard and fell in love with it. I went and bought the 45, and Shake Your Body was on the other side.....Michael was still a teenager, and probably bought things wanting to impress them and be appreciated for himself; and not knowing what to do as relationships were concerned-they were all very sheltered.....listen to the lyrics, remember what how the times were in 1979......

  • what a great voice. thanks for posting..

  • Somehow, I don't understand because Michael had the love of almost all the girls (and some boys lol) in the world.. but whatever, I be "gettin down" at 2:45 "Jack still, tryna make you happy but ah, Jack still tryna make you happy but ah.."

  • Are you a fag?

  • No !... how can you say that ? how dare you ? ... >:-(

If you're not intrusting in Michael, why are you watching vids about him ... ?? >:-(

  • This song came from the album Detiny, doesn't it ?

    (<3 U 4EVER MICHAEL)

  • yes!

  • ok thanks...

did Michael wrote it ? because it seems to be the way he felt at this time...

    (<3 MICHAEL 4EVER)

  • Yes. It was written by the jacksons! I think particularly him...but yea it certainly seems as if he was looking in mirror writing this.!

  • It was written by Randy and Michael

  • Oh... when I think about this, It makes me cry ... T_T. Poor Michael... yeah...

Are you one of "Michael's fan" too?? :-j :-o

  • i think this is a song about joe and jack being michael trying to please him all the time longing for some love from joe.

  • the song is so sweet..but theres alot of force and truth in the words...longing. he really sang this from the heart. though it sounds pretty theres fustration in there...infact i'm sure theres more than that.

when you put truth into you art people will listen.

  • This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE SONGS PERIOD. It brings a tear to my eye even moreso now because it's a direct reflection of him, and all people who try to please to no avail.

  • beautiful voice

  • I love this song i was fifteen when this album came out in Zimbabwe. My sisters and i used to love this song and repeat it i dont know how many times. Now Im 47 and i still like the song very cool but meaningful song. "Thats what you get for being polite, " people always take advantage of those who are polite. Reminds me of Zimbabwe in those peaceful good days.

  • This song bein' in my head for awhile now!! It's one of my favorite now!!

  • MY Daughter fell in love with the tune and danced to this for her performed over the weekend in memory of Micheal.Even though most the audience wasnt familiar with the song she still put on a Great show.

  • I fell in love with this song when I was 15 and it was about 20 or so yrs old then and I'm almost 30 now. The Jacksons and Michael espicially has timeless and ageless music. Michael may no longer be with us in human form; he is in the spirit walking on the real moon. RIP MJ. Love u always. \o/

  • "Jack" is Michael.

  • I believe "Jack" is Jermaine.

  • I agree.

  • This is when I first heard Micheal and I knew he was different, especially at the end of the song. No one alive can do that part.

  • I've been lookin for this song for weeks. Thanks!!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG THANX MJ!!! RIP!!

  • TUNE, TUNE, TUNE! OMG WHAT A TUNE!

  • I remember my brother Ben and I blasting this on the stereo system as soon as our parents left for work in the mornings back home in Ethiopia in 1979. What a life, oh what sweet memories.....ohhh what a loss! MJ ,may God show you how much you ARE loved!

  • You can't help but go to tears when you listen to this. Oh the memories!!!!! This is such a gorgeous tune and that voice - in the end he was our Mickie, we grew up with him. MJ R.I.P.

  • Remember how I "discovered" the Jacksons: bored after been left alone in the car (1late '80) raking through my parents' cassettes and stumbled on the 'Destiny' album, the rest is history...(goodbye Boney M, hello the Jacksons). Bought the album last year, can't recommend it enough!

  • what is he trying to say?

  • Well, it's a sad day in the world (June 25, 2009) R.I.P Michael Jackson. This is one of my All-Time favorite tunes. Mike brought so much joy to my life. Will Always Love You!!! I'm crying about you.

  • well, he sings "Jack" ...... so thats its about Jackie makes more sense .......... doesnt it ?

  • Michael you rock my world you know you did...♥ this is a good song he like deserves better than what he is barginin 4 it doesnt make since how he is treated but his life may seem full of fun and stuff but its full of depression he just doesnt want to show that he's that hurt he's a sensitive person and he doesnt deserve what he is gavin i♥you michael no matter the case

  • this song was never about Jermaine it was about Michael and how he felt about himself.

  • The first time I bought the Destiny album i was 9 and so 16 years ago after watching the movie I thought it was about Jermaine but i wasn't sure then I was on a website a few years later and there it was

  • I bought this LP in 79.....I still enjoy listening to all tracks. This one sounds mid70's but some others are announcing the 80's.

  • Really nice song.

    Love you Michael!!

  • Great song. I'm sure that the bad blood between Mike and his "Brody",which was nearly THREE DECADES AGO is quite squashed by now.

  • thats my song.

  • god bless you michael!!!

  • Anger is the wrong word. Helpful is more like it aimeepus. I'm glad I was able to enlighten you. Take care.

  • waddya' mean what am I talkin' about?! Mike is singing about Jermaine in a bad way with those lyrics. Listen to the song. It's NOT just music aimeedus. It's personal, negative feelings he had toward his brother for staying at Motown and not going to CBS with his brothers. Maybe you're 2 young to know what I'm talkin' bout. Take care.

  • You need to get your anger problem in check I asked a simple question and you went off on the deep end. Oh Im not a teenager sweetie Im 26 years old.And didnt know the history behind the song. That is why I asked what you were talking about

  • Well you weren't really clear. No one could have understood what you meant by reading what you wrote

  • IMHO, Mike was indeed upset, I woulda been bitter too. Still, he loved and sympathized with his big brother. It wasn't all about kickin dirt. As is his way, Mike was just puttin his feelins to music.

"He cries about you and me. Know that he deserves to cry."

"Don't you know he cries, don't you know he's scared?"

  • omg, it totally makes sense now...I found this cd at Sam Goody one day and played the hell out of this song and had no idea what it was about...

but yeah, now i see that its about Jermaine and Hazel and the whole Motown thing

btw im only 23 years old, lol

  • I love this song. I was too busy snappin my fingers and groovin to really listen to tha lyrics at first too. Bein 29, I too had to do some research when I discovered this song years ago.
