  • I have a smokey chicken in my pants.

  • @breakaslob Thanks Captain obvious, yes, he is, so what?

  • @cierv0vulnerado No he isn't.

  • @xILambyIx amm.. yes.. he is

  • @cierv0vulnerado Hahaha, got any proof for that? He's never said he was gay, and he's never said he was straight. Do your research, kid.

  • Andy Rourke you beaut of a man

  • I would love to have been Morrissey's girlfriend at that time. ;)

  • @cuteabbyxo did he have one?

  • Johnny Marr is the coolest.

  • @taquitozz i agree.

  • Just me or is this 90% mimed?

  • @Jonneh111 just you, none of the 3 songs they played on the tube were mimed. but i don't know for sure, the band and morrissey sound completely live to me.:)

  • @maggsayy Yeah just had a relisten, was hammered when I wrote that so it's easy to see where the confusion came from eh

  • marr + morrissey = epic

  • NOVEMBER 28 / 2011 , at the FOX Theater In Pomona, show was suppose to be from 8-10 , doors opened at 7. He didn't start proper (and I have been to many of his shows in the UK!) till after 9pm and played till 10 . For the amount of almost $500 USD we felt cheated.. we love Morrissey and I really hope he is reading this. LOVE YA Morrissey

  • Its weird but Iv had this vision of a teen-aged Johnny Marr locked in a prison left with nothing but a guitar, pen, paper, food and water for years without leaving.

I mean, how else can you explain how he got this good on the guitar?

  • @GreenSLi7 well johnny does have a great choice of idols he looked up too. and

when music was created with instruments and not computers it was this sound you heard alot ,raw twang it was used by hank marvin aswell from the shadows,

  • Last long of his show at the fox in pomona, so glad I was there to see him perform his magic ways

  • lol, this was before i was born. but i still like this, its good stuff :)

  • This is incredible. The crowd stood motionless and constant like homogeneous robots unable to comprehend a monumentally dramatic and awe-inspiring outcry. It's amazing the way Morrissey seems to torture himself to get them to listen to him as if he were begging for his life in the face of his dispassionate owners. Truly mesmerising.

  • he sure put a lot of flowers in his pocket.

  • yes you are one ILL MOTHERFUCKER MOZ! S!!!!CK!!

  • Probably my all time favourite tune....The Smiths at their best....Morrissey & Marr = Legendary Status!! :)

  • morissey = swag.

  • kubo if lady gaga has half the talent of johnny marr ill eat my own shit !

  • does the body rule the mind or the mind rule the body, priceless...

  • Haha an uninspired frontman! You know nothing, this performance was beautiful

  • what a song. Long live the Smiths.

  • @Kubo0666 You're stupid. Pop is pop in any generation. Quit filling more into the bandwagon. "Boo hoo, the Beatles was great now we have lady gaga" Every band and artist is good in their own way, just because the sound is different and doesn't not please your "taste" doesn't mean it's crappy. Music cannot be horrible, it's morons like you seem make people believe it's horrible.

  • @MrMeeperz123 I totally agree, I think we have really good bands today, but it's too early now to realize the impact they will have in the future ^^

  • the difference between todays shit pop music and good bands like smiths doors beatles acdc or I don´t know who else is that no one will remmember those sweet faces but true legends will be surely inspiring millions of people for next at leats 100 years :D

  • Morrissey rolling around on the stage is so sexy and I don't understand why.

  • love this song! :) especially his hair

  • I physically started getting a boner.

  • Is Morrissey being intentionally ambiguous?

  • Andy Rourke is Sexy

  • lol at people having a go at the crowd , wtf are they suppose to do most pit? theyre listening to the music thats enough for some artists.

  • Marr, Joyce & Rourke - spot on.

  • Just wow! Pure entertainment! Made my last crack pipe (for the night!!) a bit nicer!

  • hes an amazing guitarist,

  • I thought the guitarist was cool...then I seen the sweater tied to his waist.. Lol

  • the sun is actually shining out of morrisseys ass:D

  • MissLibertine95 - That's the beauty of music - It's always there! There are bands I'm still discovering, whole genres of music infact, and I'm in my thirties.

  • I was born too late and I missed all the best years of music :(

  • @MissLibertine95 story of my life

  • @MissLibertine95 you aren't looking hard enough, go to some local shows and i guarantee you'll have a fuckin good time. and not to mention discover some great music!

  • @banzaitrooper Yeah I agree with you, but for me the best music is from 80s, it doesn't mean there's no good music now, then I live in Italy, it's not like in the UK, the same music culture, so it's hard to find great local shows or stuff like this! :)

  • @MissLibertine95 this was at the TOON(Newcastle),great times!!

  • I hate people who go crazy at concerts. You can't hear the damn music which is why you go.

  • @tyleet123 same with mine! I don't understand her one bit D: every time she catches me listening to or singing Morrissey or The Smiths she gets all huffy, and I'm just like jesus mum how mental do you have to be not to appreciate how genius this is

  • WHAT A SHIT CROWD!!!! I'd have gone fecking mental!

  • such an underrated song

  • Jesus, what a boring ass crowd...

  • @gedrickwilson well its the smiths, your not going to head bang to it lol

  • Morrissey is the master but i'd sell my Grandmother to see the Smiths back together again befor we all get to old

  • @tom3696 agreed. I'd sell your gran to see the Smiths once more.

  • como eu amo essa música

  • circa 1984*

  • i am completely straight but i am secretly gay for morrissey

  • Everything in this recording sounds excellent, all four of them, it's stupid. It really is just stupid...how on earth can you sound that good, it should be impossible...

  • My mom has actually banned me from listening to the smiths... she hates morrissey that much... i havent listened :)

  • I definitely have an awkward crush on Morrissey..

  • MARR

     IS

    LEGEND

  • I wonder where did he find those flowers...

  • does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body, idk :D<3

  • Greatest Band of all time.. it's a shame Morrissey is so racist though

  • "Am I Still Ill ? ... we can not cling to the old dreams anymore, no. We cannot cling to those dreams..." LOVE it ...LOVE it .. etc etc...lol

  • la classse !!!

  • The Smiths!!!! JOHNNY MARR YOU ARE AMAZING.

You too, Morrissey :) I <3 you guys!!!!

  • Love Mozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

  • This crowd were clearly expecting Justin Bieber (or rather a 1980's generation equivalent) to come on stage, yet they are so gob-smacked and frozen with amazement at what they've been missing, that they can't seem to physically move.

  • Does the body rule the mind? Or does the mind rule the body?

    I dunnaaaoo!

  • このライブ映像は永久保存だね。マーのギターがたまらん^^

  • Great performance. How cynicism has taken over the very music industry now a days in which Morrissey himself once found very meaningful is tragic. Not very many bands/artists like this one to carry on such a powerful surge of raw emotion. Not too many artists ever have that X factor. FU Simon Cowell For not appreciating Morrisseys work. Hell does he know with his patheticly scripted tv shows.

  • Lets mosh!

  • andy.. forever

  • What the hell is wrong with that crowd?????

  • @rachiboo14 they're so entranced by the amazing music, they can't do anything but stand there and stare.

  • @saxophonejunkie09 Good point. Still a bit too still for my liking though:L

  • One of the best bands ever on earth

  • this song speaks to me like nothing else

  • I feel like this band would understand my life

  • morrissey rolling over the floor with flowers up his arse, you got to love him

  • i REALLY NEED an karaoke version of this song, anyone can help me? thanks hehe

  • Under the iron bridge we kissed.......

  • ...i literally cannot stop listening to this song. I think I'm addicted to the smiths...

  • Holy shit Marr is a genius!

  • the flowers are stuck to his butt

  • this band SHITS on 98% of music from any era ever....yet justin gayber gets 10000000x times the view this video does.......are we fucking living or merely existing in this world of fur over the eyes sheep infested ass pool of a world?

  • @misterbear1984

    the latter.

  • @misterbear1984 lol, you just used the term "justin gayber" non ironically on a Smiths video. congrats on being the worst sort of subhuman

  • this changed my life, back in 84...

  • Johnny shocked at 1:35 to see Morrissey on the floor

  • This is such a fantastic live performance that I'm starting to question whether or not I even exist right now.

  • that guitar riff is amazing

  • BOM D++++++

  • Johnny Marr and Morrissey, perfect combination!

  • That bass guitar riff at the beginning may just be the best thing I have ever heard.

  • Morrissey I want your babies!

  • frikken SWEET!

  • Soothing

  • wow, they are amazing live :)

  • Sublime.

  • this is the best guitarist I've ever heard

  • Great vid. Ty for posting.

  • This man voice, i die..

  • That was Tyte u just trying to compare like your mom and dad one likes it in the butt and ur mama don't!

  • 18 peoples mothers are bigger than others!

  • that guitar riff is sick

  • Awesome try spiders where does this leave us now

  • Great video! Wish I was around back then to see them live!!

  • @theaceofspades56

I was there... one of the few plus points of being a forty odd year old geordie is that the tube was part of our youthful Friday nights. Fantastic times

  • @haolesbrothers morrissey is an all round genius isn't he..

  • Comment removed

  • Possible my favourite live performance ever, from anyone.

  • Marr is blatantly thinking "what the fuck is Morrissey doing" at 1:41

  • Johnny Marr riffs + funky bass lines divided by Morrissey vocals = best f@*in band ever

  • amazing song, also interesting watching an authentic crowd from 1984 - what dress sense!!

  • Andy Rourke doesn't get enough credit. The dude had some pretty sexy bass-lines.

  • @cossack77 Johnny Marr wrote all the basslines. But even so I agree with you- he's an underrated player.

  • @Slapbass13 Where did you get that fact? I've heard both that and quite the opposite, that Rourke wrote the basslines.

  • @Slapbass13 I thought Andy wrote the basslines.

  • @cossack77 mike didn't either and he's a brill drummer

  • @cossack77 yeah but jonny marr wrote them you pleb

  • @bendeacon lol no.

  • @Yuripadees i think you'll find he did, thats why the credits are .... Morrissey and Marr. Not ... Morrissey, Marr and Rourke. Dumb Shit

  • @cossack77 The bass line for Barbarism Begins at Home is immense!

And what would This Charming Man be without that bassline!

  • @cossack77 they were Marrs basslines, he was a session musician.

  • @cossack77 Agreed. I actually believe that unfortunately it is one of the reasons that the Smiths will never perform again. As much as I love Marr, I think that he knows that a reunion will expose how much his genius really was intertwined with Rourke's. He's never matched it since.

  • @cossack77 neither does mike joyce

  • @cossack77 Lines composed by Marr...

  • andy's looking a bit like rick astley

  • There's a lot of pain in this song.

  • I love the ol' flowers on the butt trick. Epic.

  • @rcrase A Morrissey staple

  • love it how johnny and andy just act completely normal whilst morrissey starts rolling around on the floor

  • Johnny Marr is simply one of the most underrated guitarists on the planet!

  • Always preferred this live version, you can hear the beautiful guitar a lot more

  • so pure

  • I love this band with all my heart and soul!

  • 19 ppl are wankers

  • Definitely one of their best songs, I always find myself humming that bassline.

  • I love Morrissey.

  • Would give my left foot to play like Johnny Marr

  • I love the bit where Marr is playing some amazing riff and taking the occasional look at Morrissey rolling on the floor!

  • and under the iron bridge we kissed palm.xxx

  • one of the best bands!

  • Siento envidia por las personas que estaban escuchando y bailando esta canción, mi favorita de The Smiths, en vivo :(

  • Johnny Marr's brilliant guitar work really is captured well on this recording. AMAZING!!!

  • Johnny Marr is a quality guitarist

  • got to see them twice back in the eighties once in Boston (with Billy Bragg) and once in Mansfield MA... This tune was a highlight both times.

  • fkn epic guitar playing
