i love rod's voice it's so calming well besides from the side comments that he has been giving jaime. well he is fine, he is the one that keeps this show going!!! without a villin there are no heros!!!!

It's a huge step for people to come down from eating processed food and cook normal meals and then find out what is actually in their food and how it's made (to take it a step further). People like Rod need to understand that food - or rather, that processed shit people think is food - is a dangerous drug, no different than meth or crack. Getting diagnosed with diabetes was the best thing to ever happen to me - I eat healthy every day now and have dropped weight that I never would have if I hadn't been dx'd. Live like you already have the disease and you will probably avoid getting it for real!

Actually it would be perfect if it was like here in Switzerland. Here McDonalds and Co. cost way more than home cooked meal. You pay 12 Dollars for a Big Mac Menu in this country. That's maybe why it's one of the countries where the people have the longest lifes.
I'm from Canada. We have some of the problems of the US, but not nearly to the same scale. Unfortunately despite and ENORMOUS amount of farm-able land we make no effort at local eating (other than meat and dairy). We'll import and export the same type of apple!!! So I'm very jealous to hear Switzerland has managed. We have good food education, but there is an economic gap here (like in the States) which I think contributes. Poorer areas are heavier :( It's hard to overcome.
Yeah Switzerland tries really to make so that most of the things you can buy in the markets are local. But you know it's quite easy for them: they are really rich and have a small country (41'285. Canada in comparison: 9.984.670)
But having lived in France and Germany also (I'm french), I can see that the system is comparable in those three lands. Only switzerland sort of perfected it.

Fast food in Canada is similar to the northern States. You can buy a burger, large fries, and soda for under $5. It disgusts me. It is cheaper to buy such a meal than to buy a package of berries. It is wide spread but not allowed in many downtown areas. Our universities are constantly improving with local, healthy options. Most hospitals still house fast food chains like McDonalds :( Also, most Canadians don't seem to know what you can and can't grow here.
@SmyDho69 actually if you cook it right and plan out your meal it costs less than taco bell and if you cook for a family you wind up saving money for other things in the long run. the problem most people have is time, it takes 20-30 minutes to cook vs 5 minutes to drive to taco bell.

People like Rod need to understand that food - or rather, that processed shit people think is food - is a dangerous drug, no different than meth or crack. Getting diagnosed with diabetes was the best thing to ever happen to me - I eat healthy every day now and have dropped weight that I never would have if I hadn't been dx'd. Live like you already have the disease and you will probably avoid getting it for real!

The only thing I disagree on, is how they said they are unable or impossible to cremate overweight or morbidly obese people. That's a bit BS since I've known crematory workers who had to cremate morbidly obese people NUMEROUS times.

Actually it would be perfect if it was like here in Switzerland. Here McDonalds and Co. cost way more than home cooked meal. You pay 12 Dollars for a Big Mac Menu in this country. That's maybe why it's one of the countries where the people have the longest lifes.

Actually one of the reasons is because Switzerland wants to use only local products, which in case of fast foods cost way more.
But it's also in the culture. Here people all know that this kind of food is bad, and hereby don't eat too much of it.
People here are way better educated about food. I have seen almost no fat people since I'm here :)

I'm from Canada. We have some of the problems of the US, but not nearly to the same scale. Unfortunately despite and ENORMOUS amount of farm-able land we make no effort at local eating (other than meat and dairy). We'll import and export the same type of apple!!! So I'm very jealous to hear Switzerland has managed. We have good food education, but there is an economic gap here (like in the States) which I think contributes. Poorer areas are heavier :( It's hard to overcome.

Yeah Switzerland tries really to make so that most of the things you can buy in the markets are local. But you know it's quite easy for them: they are really rich and have a small country (41'285. Canada in comparison: 9.984.670)
But having lived in France and Germany also (I'm french), I can see that the system is comparable in those three lands. Only switzerland sort of perfected it.
Is fast food in Canada wide spread? Is it expensive?

Fast food in Canada is similar to the northern States. You can buy a burger, large fries, and soda for under $5. It disgusts me. It is cheaper to buy such a meal than to buy a package of berries. It is wide spread but not allowed in many downtown areas. Our universities are constantly improving with local, healthy options. Most hospitals still house fast food chains like McDonalds :( Also, most Canadians don't seem to know what you can and can't grow here.

@SmyDho69 actually if you cook it right and plan out your meal it costs less than taco bell and if you cook for a family you wind up saving money for other things in the long run. the problem most people have is time, it takes 20-30 minutes to cook vs 5 minutes to drive to taco bell.
