when i was in the military ( USMC 84-88). there was a gay guy in our unit. Obviously he didnt come right out an say so, but you could spot it a mile away. And no one...I REAPEAT>>NO ONE, had a problem with him. He was funny..would go on any assignment/tour. BUT>>>>he finally was discharged( i guess its an OTH...not sure) ...my stupid rant. Oh Tom Lennon...so funny !!!!

As an european that served in the military with a couple of openly gay guys, i find it both funny and sad that there's a serious debate about this in America in 2010, and that enough politicians are against it to actually stop lifting it.
In 50-100 years, you or your offspring will find it as ridiculus as i do now. I find it as strange as not letting blacks/asians serve in your military, and more strange than letting women serve.
