does anybody knows the exacly address of this place so that way i can go there and drink a coffee and smoke a cigar .. and say the same thing :D thank you !
yeah in my experience people in Italy are the warmest and friendliest in all of europe , especially in the south! they invite you round for dinner when thet hardly know you lol Spanish , Germans and French are the rudest , well they not the rudest but manners and politness are not so important for them i think
@jimmyshelter I can co-sign on the Spanish. They don't like Americans at all. Not to blame them, I mean I saw other American tourist there who were loud and obnovious. Pretty much fitting the American stereotype. I heard the French can be rude too. I think the resentment for Americans has been the worst since 9/11 and the Bush administration.
What's awesome about this scene is how much Paulie waxes poetic about the "old country", this reveals how hypocritical and misinformed he really is. The culture shock is too funny, with all due respect.
@jzep789 This is the way it is in some parts of Italy especially for foreigners, If they don't know you they will not speak. Even give you the evil eye!
Lol. this is the difference between Europeans and Americans I think. Europeans are typically more closed to people they don't know whereas Americans are more outspoken. Just an observation of mine
I can kind of see that. They probably knew he was an American. My ancestors came from Italy. But I am an American. If I went to Italy they would not accept me as one of their own. My brother in law is from Naples Italy. Trust me.
I would. Same for my friends. We would accept you as part of our blood. Say halla to every paisà in the United States, a country that we, as italians, will always respect.
@jpd782 That happens in most countries. Japanese emigrants are not very welcomed in Japan (they are treated like 2nd class citizens). Argentinians (Spanish descendants) are not really welcomed in Spain. Koreans born abroad are called "2nd generation Koreans" and are also not really welcomed in the academic circles... although there is a single exception with Korean-Americans and Korean-Europeans, they are adored.

Paulie calling David Chase a cocksucker was probably the most truthful part of the entire show...

I think David Chase is showing his real opinion of mobsters here. They are great fodder for drama, but he doesn't think much of them as people.

I disagree. Although Paulie is often indescribably douchey, I think this is an instance of "it takes one to know one".

haha - Fair enough. Regardless, I have a strange love for Paulie, and get immediately defensive when he gets insulted.
As he put it so elegantly, "Cock suckers."
