A heat protectant would really protect your hair from the heat of a flat iron. They can fry your hair otherwise.

I have really thick asian hair, looks just like yours... (short layers long underneath) same length too XD teasing kinda works for me but I have to tease a lot of my hair in order for it to stay a while eeek damaging D: Bubbi's method didnt work for me but this is a way i never really thought about doing! I tried flat iron crimping as well and it stayed all day. You can still see some of the crimp but i think it makes the look prettier! I'll have to try this now :D Thanks for sharing~
