2 chamber Flowmasters (40 Series). 2/12 inch duals all the way out the back from stock ceramic coated headers. Cammed up pretty good. I sold the truck and can't remember the tire size. But the rims were 15 X 10 all the way around.

I put my in '72 in about feb or mar of '08 to be painted and have some rust fixed. he said it'd be a few months and that there was no way it'd be over 6 months.

well we just got it back about 3 wks ago.. lol so 3 months turned into about 16 months lol but it looks real nice :)

Yup. They said six weeks. They kept it 40 weeks. Insurance jobs came first. Turned out nice. Flames in stripes over the clear. Just the way it worked out. I sold the truck to a neighbor/friend. I miss her. But he loves her.

Well, I think Americans started the auto craziness by looking for stump=pulling torque. Combine that with incredibly low gas prices, and a natural desire for more power, you get big displacement and probably lousy overall efficiency. I like the sound and feel of an American v-8 the same way I like the sound of a Fender Stratocaster. Some might like the whine of the Ferrari 12 and a violin.

Or, maybe Europeans are just better in every way than Americans. I know most of them think they are.

What is it about American engines that they don't produce a lot of power from huge displacements.

Give a 5.7L V8 to a European and they'll get at least 500bhp from it. BMW got over 420bhp from the 4L V8 in the new M3.

If a bunch of numbers confuse you then you really shouldn't be driving. The M3 and German cars in general tend to be under-rated by the manufacturers and regularly put out more power than claimed so it's likely to be more than 420bhp in any case.

I had the motor built, so I relied on the builder. He said it was a 350 HP 350, which required the correct head and intake and cam configuration. But I don't remember the lift/dwell. Thanks for the comment. Un fortunately, I sold the truck to a friend. I miss her. BTW, 2 1/2 inch exhaust and dual chamber Flowmasters is the real deal.
