  • ... blatantly lazy ...

  • It will all come out in the wash, hopefully.

I feel so sorry for you Americans when all you get for politicians is a bunch of complete dick heads.

  • @cleticprincess1956 We have some of the worlds worst poliiticians here in America. If by some fluke this Santorum guy was ever to get elected I'd leave the country. I'm an Atheist and I'm all for civil rights of Black Americans but I don't like Obama. I believe Obama is a closet Atheist. The only guy I like that is running is Ron Paul.

  • Santorum probably thinks "Black" people are "Blah."

  • The poor senator is doing some serious back peddling. The GOP contest fills my boring life with much-needed comedy.

  • Racism is good thing for Republicans. The Southern Strategy is alive and well in the GOP.

  • He could of been about to say Blastoise people as in people who's favourite pokemon is Blastoise. We all know he is a pokemon hater.

  • Its like Obama was sat down with a long list of people who would run against him as republicans, and he chose the dumbest ones himself. Every time a Republican candidate opens their mouth they spit out two feet and skeleton.

Santorum, is as complex as piss, and just as transparent, and a racist prick to boot.

  • Hell, it's clear he's admonishing his natural constituency, the Blah People --

Beware the searing spiciness of Taco Bell, it's multiculturally decadent. Sex with the lights on is the gateway to gaydom. An electric guitar is the sound of the Devil raping your ears.

And if your Walmart greeter job dries up, stay out of the welfare office. It's full of black people.

  • wow, what a joke. i can't believe even O'riely let him off the hook on that.

  • While I think the guy needs hanging (metaphorically!) I can't find it in me to hang him on this one, it's all too vague.

Also, I'm no speech analyst but, the 'a' sound can be just that, a sound. Rather than a definitive, intended part of the word he "stumbled upon".

  • Santorum best not sit down at a poker table with me. During the O'Really? interview, as Santorum pleads his innocence, his eyes dart repeatedly to the left. This is almost always a "tell"; an indication of a liar.

But, as a GOP politician, lying is just part of his job.

  • Oh come on! Santorum said he wasn't saying "black" people! For goodness sake, he's running for President of the United States of America! You should take him at his word.

I appreciate all the effort you expended trying to find the word he fumbled but you missed it. You see, hanging around with all those black people for so long, he acquired a very nasty prejudice against one particular ethnic group. He knows it's wrong. He's in therapy now. The people he was trying to trash are "blond" people.

  • /ɑː/ is neither phonologically short nor what is referred to by "short a". Gah.

  • Santorum into sanatorium! ;-)

  • It starts with an n and ends with an r, and its the word Santorum would say, If he weren't being watched all the time.

  • I think bla___ might have been an attempt at using a synonym for "people", but then he said "people" instead.

  • He clearly said "blight" people, which is a mixture of "black" and "white". Santorum wanted to include people of all races, because the mixture is brown, and when you make brown lighter, you get yellow, and you could also get red people if you...

    never mind.

    He's just a douchebag.

  • @blackwolf1200

For a second I thought I heard "blight", too.

  • @blackwolf1200 Uh oh. You better watch those innuendos about Santorum and the color brown... His name is Santorum, not "frothy brown" or "icky lube brown." For Jesus' sake, just 'cause he has his head up his butt? Leave the poor man alone!

    (silly grin)

  • Un fucking believable. Saying that is bad enough-- But mother FUCKER, don't then try to tell the world you DIDN'T fucking say it! Jesus. So the guy is a bigot, who also thinks we're all idiots. Just... Wow.

  • Meh. I normally like your videos, Smiley, but this was a bit excessive. A full five and a half minutes dedicated to systematically eliminating every single alternative word in order to prove fairly conclusively that a politician said "Black People" is a bit of a waste of time, for a point that could have been made in less than a minute.

That said, yes, he does say Blah, but it's fairly clear that he was GOING to say Black, then caught himself and stopped from pronouncing the last few letters.

  • Beautiful.

What about "O" words with the short "A" sound such as "block people"...lol, nevermind.

  • I really don't like any of the current crop of jackasses running for president... and that includes Obama.

  • Hell yeah, he would have been crucified by the Canadian press. Although SNN probably would have given him his own show or at least a column...

  • I only really heard "blah" after hearing from others that that's what he said and listening carefully, so that could just be suggestion.

Santorum ought to just go back to being un-Google-able.

  • Yup, that ending clip just sealed the deal for me.

  • @Robobubbacunta lol I loved the look on Santorum's face when Bill said "Well, *I* don't think you're a bigot" ...it's like standing on the deck of the Titanic and seeing that iceberg dead ahead...

  • Great video. Here's another possibility.

"I don't want to make ""Blagojevich's"" people's lives better by giving them someone else' s money."

He might have gone for that one if had thought of it in time. :)

  • @TalladegaTom So true! How could I overlook an opportunity to say Blagojevich's name??

  • @SmilingSkeptic Because it's so easy to overlook insignificant fucktards like that once they're in jail! And it has to be said the ''Jon Stewart'' way, for maximal comedic effect! lol

  • Blah is a stumble word a reset default when you abort a word before saying it and it's clear he was on verbal momentum because he went ahead and said "people". Whatever it was it's clear the word he had in mind was not a good word and failing to offer it suggests it may have been worse.

  • @felinoidI don't think he stumbled at all. His body language doesn't betray a stumble or a momentary search for a word. There would be a hand gesture, or a head gesture, typically to the left. I just humoured Uncle Bill and went along with the claim that he stumbled on a word. I think Santorum clearly and deliberately said "black".

  • @SmilingSkeptic Actually the body language is there he stopped moving and even stopped speaking before saying what he said. I've done this myself with no body language at all (but then I don't talk with my hands as he is here) but recording videos I'll have an idea ready in my mind but the actual word I come up with is something like "asshole" as that is what I think of the subject. if true of him then he was gonna say what he really thought by accident and it was very bad.

  • For such a devout Catholic, he's sure bearing false witness a lot. Though I'm hardly surprised.
