  • it says 12 8 volt battaries not 12 volt

  • Making electric is LESS of a challenge are you kidding? It took me .5 days to install the electric motor in a motorcycle, and 1 day to strip all the gas crap off. Nice work though, although should have used lithium batteries.

  • range?

  • why would you do that?

Its a Hot Rod = fast for short distance.

about 5000 bucks at todays A123 M1 cell price. I bet it would be under a 10 second car.

  • You could hide a gas generator in the trunk to extend the range.

  • l want one

  • question internal combustion

  • What?

  • wow! he fixed the problem that every electric car has, this one doesn't look retarded!!

  • 8" motor yeah.... and it's 12 8v batteries... title says 12v...

  • yea, then wired in series it's 96 volts.

  • I have tested low price speeed controller, water cooled gatorcontrollers are coming soon!

  • Zilla is over price, we make cheaper contollers just as good.

    120v/1000 amps less then $1000.00

  • I think he says it's an eight inch motor but not for sure.

  • 12 volts must be a misunderstanding. Owner said "12 eight volt batteries". Connected in series this gives 96 volts which makes more sense.

  • Batteries are the shits..The USN tried to build more reliable nuclear torpedoes in the '60's and 70's but gave up on batteries and fuel cells after $70 Billion in research, settling on an I.C. gatling gun type cylinder configuration round a central drive shaft with a SWASH PLATE linkage to the con rods. FORGET ECONOMIC ELECTRIC CARS.. Toys yes...Cars no!!

  • Nuclear torpedoes are a more demanding application than automobiles. With proper battery regulation and charging algorithm, even lead acid batteries can last thousands of cycles. Talk to Brian Methany, who had an electric Chevy S10. His battery pack lasted 45,000 miles. With today's prices, that pack would be $2,500, but he paid less for his. Had 120 miles highway range. Cost parity with gas cars ~$1.50/gallon, factoring in periodic battery replacement. Gas now $3; electric cars save shitloads.

  • Dude, ditch the flooded batteries. You need a Zilla and Exide Orbitals in that bitch. Say, a 120V system with a 1,000 amp Zilla!

I've seen this car on the austinev pages.

    Nice ride man.
