@NDrLoR You are right. Fortunately, there's quite a selection of their recordings in You Tube, to choose from. Although, I still have a recording or two that nobody has presented yet.
2:48 is my fave, part of my recent passion for black & white. BTW, I recommend a recent French movie called "The Hedgehog" in English--some interesting b&w art and a better than average plot.
@barbcard Go into Google and type: Georges Goursat (dit Sem) - French caricatourist & illustrateur of the 1900-1930s. This drawing is by him , title: Ball at the Rue Blomet (1929)
High Hatters never disappointed. Hoosier Hop is a tuneful song but in their hands become more classy. Love the pictures too as always Grzegorz, specially those of Joan Crawford in state of grace! Thanks for sharing!
@Lostintimes1 Isn't it amazing, a small in-house band without long history, sudedenly becomes one of the best bands ever recording in the hot dance era? I think, it must have been Leonard Joy's personality, that was able to squeeze out to the last drop all these anonymous musicians he chose to play in his band.
@danilogiotto Yes, it's sad to realize, that really HAPPY music was exactly "la dernier cri" of a "Happy Life" just a minute or two before the explosion of a Great Depression.
Wonderful rhythm! There seem to be no end to the dances they invented in the 20's. I love the painting a la Cadmus with the partying sailors at 2:34. I think they're dancing to this exact music.
Wow. Those Duncan girls were gorgeous!!!! I had no idea...
