this one is actually in representative tuning (i.e. he wasn't trying to hide anything), and most of the chords are pretty obvious, BUT doesn't mean anyone will be able to pull that off anytime soon; yes, he is human--if you notice what happened right after the applause--but i should keep my mouth ... :-)
@jabrooonni Wether or not you believe a god exists or not has no bearing whatsoever on your ability to appreciate of this song. I am going to hypothesis that you are some 18 year old dumbass. Now let me view your profile to confirm my hypothesis.
@jabrooonni my comment made sense... Not that i expected you to understand it. Try reading it again, and if it still doesn't make sense, consult a doctor.
@ollilaboratories I am a guitarist. And I know that style of blues, and the style of TE is difficult but flamenco is more difficult and coupled with a touch of jazz that Mr. Paco achievement cleverly mixing makes it almost unattainable. It also has much character and feeling ... if you're a guitarist, you will understand, if not, then I leave the task ... ciao
@BELEMGER If you're a guitarist you should know that it's totally irrelevant to compare two such succesful guitarists. As soon as a guitarist reaches the virtuoso level you can not compare him with anyone else. It's just about personal preferences, not about who's "the best". Don't be an elitist, please.
for the record...my husband wrote that, not me, & he was just trying to be funny, 75mediumrare, I think it WAS funny, but you obviously think you are better than us so my advice... stop taking everything so seriously.
@MelindaWestern oh I disagree, I also play the guitar but "This guy" inspires me to practice and convey emotions through a guitar like he so beautifully does.
What about James Morrison, Paul Grabowsky, Brett Garsed, Slava Gregorian, Karen Schaupp, even John Williams (who was also born in Oz). I love Tommy, but he would be the first to admit that there are lots of other talented Australian musicians.
the thing about Tommy is that when he plays he's giving everyone a gift. It doesn't cost as much as it's truly worth and yet it has this great, inherent value.. I think it's because it's not just our pleasure to receive his awesome gift but it's also his great pleasure to give it.
ive seen hunfreds upon hundreds of amazing guitarists and al lthe greats live like Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Angus Young, Stevie Ray, and not just the rock and blues but many of the great classical players and Jazz. None are close but one of those. He never makes mistakes in guitar. If he does point them out to me. Id loveto see them.
Simply put,the best guitarist I have ever seen, may be some as good, but nobody I know would just put him to shame. The man plays with pure heart and soul like no other.I just wanna smash my guitar after watching him, lol.
@markdonat: I could possibly go farther, and agree with some pro music friends, who say Tommy is possibly the greatest guitarist (certainly among the living) GOD has ever produced. At least in the top 3.
Oprah Winfrey is going to be doing two shows in Sydney, Australia at the Opera House on December 14th, 2010. The show is not fully booked. Tommy will be in Australia and just happens to be free that day. Oprah is taking suggestions as to who should be on this show.

@Thorreth - it's because of the user base of Youtube. When idiotic, brain draining, juvenile, nonsensical videos get millions of views, it's not necessarily because the video is great, but it's because that is what the viewers want to see. It reflects poorly on what the average Youtuber enjoys. Sad.
Yes sad, but true. You can't live thinking on the bad side of each question. Do you like Tommy? Spread his music whenever you can. Promote good things instead of making criticism of everything you consider bad.
@Thorreth Cause today people listen to shit electronic sounds that are supposed to be music, like Lady Gaga. Really minority of today's population knows what rythm'n'blues and bluegrass is. What a shame.
@SweetLittleRnRoller You're ignorant. Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, the list goes on. All proponents of electronic sound in music. Using modern tools has always been a staple of contemporary music throughout history.
@KrummyBear But these people use electronic INSTRUMENTS. Not samplers and computer-made beats. Technology IS GOOD. But nobody's gonna tell me that techno and all the other modern stuff is ambitious and musically advanced.
@SweetLittleRnRoller You said electronic sounds... You can preamp an "acoustic" trumpet and add electronic effect w/o it being an electronic instrument. Also samples and loops are completely acceptable. Art is art, and quality is quality. Making sweeping generalizations is "ignorant".
@Thorreth Funny how I and Im sure MANY others were thinking the same thing. But then you have to take into account the IQ of the general public...then you'll understand why mainstream "music" is mainstream.....

I know he's Canadian but most people don't realise how cool a national anthem can be until it is transcribed like this.
I didn't like the little "shredding" parts(if you can call them that?) in this rendition.
It would of been better if it stayed kind of mellow, but that's just my opinion lol
