vodka with horseradish alone makes me jealous of these guys. I thought raki is good, but vodka with horseradish should be at least a good substitute...
just reading the book and had to watch this. the scene where they are entering the restaurant is actually filmed after the meal. anthony and zamir are absolutely shitfaced at the beginning of the clip
I think the reason why many American TV shows don't go to Russia for anything such as food or site-seeing is because of the rivalry that remained between the two countries from the bitterness of Capitalist/Communist cold war clashes. I could be wrong though. Just an observation..
thanks for downloading. whether or not Tony is on Food Network or Travel channel people still watch him wherever he goes. hope to see more No Reservations or Cook Tour's soon.

I have to admit, compared to other episodes, this episode really sucks. He has almost no respect for Russian people or Russian culture. And what the hell did he have to say about Russian cuisine?
Nah, Tony's always straight. He said the Kubiak fish pie thing sucked. Also, the host left him to eat food at an empty table. No wonder he hated his first night in St. Petersburg. He liked everything else.
finally! i love the fact that anthony actually goes to russia! most travel shows just skip over it like it doesn't exist. anthony did another show on russia too...
in fact russian food is boring, not spicy at all, and unhealthy, unless you eat caviar every day. i lived there and never rally found some good food. everything looks like you're going to become fat soon if you eat it. lots of grease and pastry everywhere, bleeee
65% overweight americans compared to 25% of those in russia ... well yeah, it's obviously nothing. just go and get yourself a spicy highly nutricious burger with the healthiest beverage of all times - coke and a plate of frozen and then fried french fries with mayo. I promise you'll feel much better!!! and your risk of getting cancer will definitely fall
I'm not american and I don't eat american burgers, pizzas, etc. Common american food is terrible, but this doesn't mean russian food is tasty. It's actually based on carbohydrates and lard.
HAHAHAHAHA! I read about this in the book. When they are walking outside in the street, they are actually blind drunk! The cameraman forgot to film that part before the meal, and after the meal, after all the vodka they were forced to drink by the waitress, they were stumbling, shouting and laughing...check out how relatively sober they are in the restaurant!
Just sitting around a table, eating with strong alcohol (read stronger than wine) is the best.

Stop comparing russia and the US. Russia is a terrible place to live, that's a fact. I lived there. I lived in the US too.

"...Excuse...but...there's a slight problem here....we dont think you've had enough to drink tonight. Is there a problem?"
If ONLY that would happen here.....what a great society to be part of. lol
